Omg I absolutely LOVE Arrested Development!! I’ve binged watched it about 5x & still watch it!!!
I don’t watch a ton of TV, especially sitcoms. We watched Arrested Development from the beginning because there was a recommendation on NPR by somebody we thought highly of. So I’ve never seen him as anybody but Buster. It’s so nice to see that he actually looks normal and isn’t dorky looking IRL. He’s like John Turturro who can play everything from a dork to a really scary guy. But he still has that Buster giggle! And since I am also a Benedict, I’ll have to look for his new show. :)
Veep is very good too and his character in that is just as goofy as buster but in a different way. He's really good and it's a great show

Hey! I have Narcolepsy with Cataplexy!! The bounce back wasnt perfectly accurate, but that's fine. If it were accurate, it would be kinda boring. But SO cool to see Narcolepsy (and Cataplexy) featured in film at all! 🤩
When watching that clip I was mentally speculating about whether or not someone with narcolepsy might take offense . Glad it just helped you feel more seen and represented.
@@Nothing_Israel what was important to me was an accurate response, which it was. If someone with cataplexy has an attack like that, just put them in a comfortable position and dont draw too much attention. The people around him executed it perfectly. I'm not offended at all:)
I have N with C too! This episode was a rerun tonight and I just had it in the background for noise... Almost gave myself whiplash looking up at the TV so fast when I heard "Type 1 Narcolepsy & Cataplexy" 🤣
That is definitely the most accurate representation of a Cataplexy attack that I've ever seen in a fictional movie or TV show. Love that they realistically showed it as a result of him laughing too!
His portrayal of Buster is complete genius!

Maybe unpopular opinion: He is better on Veep. He's amazing on AD too but I like him in Veep more
Gary was a professional, who was in a obsessive love with his boss. Buster was just obsessed with his mother. From the viewers perspective Gary has way more depth to the characters, even though they’re essentially the same role.

As a fan of the original book, Tony admittedly wasn't who I thought of playing Mr. Benedict (I always envisioned an older, more grandfatherly type. Kinda like Henry Winkler), but he's just so likable that I can't hate him. I also really liked him in the show Chuck

Often there will be a wacky character and you see the actor and just accept they're totally different since the character, however funny, is clearly just put on. But Tony is such a great actor that it's bizarre to see him acting normally like this cause Buster is just so believable as the weirdo.
