RIP Jessica Walter, a true talented woman, and one of the main reasons why this show was amazing
here comedic timing is EVERYTHING. many people suck at this today without looking natural. she makes it seem as if her lines are unscripted every time. lol
I forget she's acting when I watch Arrested Development
“No thanks I have to get back to rehab”
There will NEVER be another Jessica Walter. May you sleep peacefully eternally ma’am xx
"A sea of waiters and nobody will take a drink order.."
When you first watch Arrested Development, you think Michael's the main character. When you rewatch it, you realize it's always been Lucille.
RIP to a real legend.
YES! Jason Bateman had top billing, but Jessica Walters MADE that show. I love that they slowly pulled back layers to show us who was REALLY in charge.
Well michael is the main charachter, but lucille is in charge.
It's almost the same with early seasons of Archer. The main character is the Sterling-Malory relationship.
@@stevenkmiller moral of the story: Jessica Walter is just always the main character. RIP to her!
It’s because she’s so good at delivering off-the-wall lines that she always steals the show, even as a “side character”. I couldn’t imagine Arrested Development or Archer without her. What a legend she is!! 💫
Genuinely one of the absolute best characters ever written and perfectly casted. She was without a doubt the MVP of this show and I miss her so much.
RIP Jessica Walters, watching this again for the queen
No wonder they used Lucille Bluth in the creation of Malory Archer!
Joseph Lamontagne right?!
And Judy Greer as Cheryl. I can’t watch their scenes without seeing them as Mallory and Cheryl
@@Cameron170 So by the looks of it, Malory beat Cheryl in the drinking contest
@@aaronkenyon7112 and is it surprising to any of us that Mallory would win that contest? 😅😁
@@ctobelieve Absolutley not 😂
“Everybody’s so dramatic and flamboyant! It makes me want to …set myself on fire!” That line brought me into the Jessica Walter is funny! world. So great!! Anytime I am down I watch this video.
"I have the exact same blouse!"
"I like it better on him."
Epic that she orders wine during the drinking contest
SHE'S MIXING
M I X I N G
“Let me know when you’re ready, dear”
"SHE'S IN REHAB!!!"
The poolside scene is one of my favorites. Especially Lucille's perfectly timed gasp of horror when she lifts the platter lid.
That is disgusting, talk to your father! I will not stand for this.
Perfectly timed when he says he won't visit his father anymore...sounds like she's listening to him xD
That scene’s great, but I also just _love_ the membership photo scene, if only for Lucille’s expression at 7:09.
It was a plate not a platter
YES!!!
"Anything else, ma'am?"
"No, thanks, I have to get back to rehab."
"SHE'S IN REHAB!"
These are all great but Lucille's best line is when George Sr. yells "Up yours lady!" and she replies "You couldn't handle it!"
Cassidy Myers George actually says “Up yours, Grandma!” though either line works because it’s really HER line and delivery that makes the scene. Oh wait, Both scenes!!! SO LOVE LUCILLE BLUTH!!!!
Oh my God, I almost forgot about that. Thank you HAHAHA
@@FloydGirl51 He actually actually says "Up yours, Granny" but close
The way they shot it from the 2 perspectives was incredible
"Oh, she thinks I'm too critical. That's another fault of hers" is one of the funniest lines of dialogue that has ever been written.
I will always laugh at the "Colored Man" joke 😆 the way she says blue and Michael being so done with the racist outbursts
"I don't understand the question and I won't respond to it" Lucille Bluth. I'm gonna start using that now.
Shadowy Silhouette You haven’t been? Totally one of my favorites. And a good litmus test for who has seen AD...
Yes!!
She made a toxic character likeable with her supreme brilliance! :( R.I.P Lucille! Buster must be devastated. :(
Poor devastated Buster is curled tightly around one of Lucille's big "juice" boxes, glasses askew, hook hand stuck in another coconut, asking, "Why is it so tired in here?"
💯
Truly! So many people would just have played her as mean, but Jessica did a wonderful job of balancing between mean and fun. Jessica was one of a kind, the world is a better place because she was in it.
As a Chinese man I own all my English skills to this show. Thank you AD.
JESSICA WALTER IS GOD DAMN AMERICAN TREASURE
Calvin Burton yes she is I hope we never lose her
Are you Princess Carolyn?
Sucks how they made her cry during a cast interview once. I felt so bad for her. She was talking about how Tambour used to verbally harass her and the other male cast just excused that behavior.
'You want your belt to buckle, not your chair' 😂😂😂
Such an underrated line 🤣
My favorite jab she throw at her 😂😂😂😂😂. Sooooo underrated
There was just something about the way she delivered her lines. It was perfect.
where is the "winking eye alcohol suggestion?"
April Jones i know!!!
It was the narrator who said that
Still a Lucille scene tho.
I still wink anytime I look at a pill bottle.
"I will not stand for this" *holds up a curly fry*
lol
In all fairness, that was a limp dick curly fry.
The way she delivered these lines was always perfect 🤣
Hahahah this is so great. Jessica is superbe as Lucille ;p
"I don't understand the question..and I won't respond to it". Brilliant HAHA.
DutchHPfan1992 Right!? LOVE Jessica Walter in this role
Can you explain the joke to me ? Is it because she wants the plate since she doesn't want to be seen as fat ?
She's making a show of not understanding the difference because she doesn't want to be seen as anything other than upper class
It's only low-scale, 'poor people' restaurants that ask "plate or platter?" and she doesn't understand the difference and refuses to answer because she's used to being rich
Best!
"I happen to be a more caring mother than most." -Mother
"Where's my bed?" -Son
"I put it in Storage." -Mother
gets me everytime xD
Edit: Rest in peace, Jessica Walters :(
“And a lot of love” with that delivery just sends me every time. Lmao
At least he’s in prison, not an urn.
What a legend. RIP Jessica.
the way she brings the drink to a complete standstill as it's coming to her mouth. an absolutely phenomenal actor, one of the best comedic actors ever
holy shit hahaha one of the best lines
@@gloverelaxis She disses her like a pro lol
Missing her slowly closing the door on Gob, as well as "I don't know who that is, and I don't care to find out."
omg, I use that gif for EVERYthing! ha!
I’m glad the video from Arrested Development with most views on UA-cam is about Lucille;
Jessica Walter deserves it.
Rest in peace Jessica and thank you for the laughter.
Oh my god I just got the joke of her asking everyone for a drink at the Latino TV Awards
welcome! lol
Really?
And everyone else in the universe
jdot And no one will take a drink order.
"Tell me the truth, because there's been a lot of lying in this family."
"And a lot of love."
Ha
...more lies.
My fav line!!!! 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
I hope when Jessica Walters arrived at the pearly gates, Saint Peter looks up, runs his finger down the list and says, "I've got some bad news..." * Removes beard * "I'm Gene Parmesan, how are ya".
"GEEEEEENE!"
Yes I'm aware she was born Jewish but was not religious
This is the best! Thank you for the laugh!
😂😂😂
YESSSSS OMG
I screamed! Best comment 😂😂😂😂
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH GENEEEEEEEE!!!
“Hola, is Rosa still alive?” LMAOOO
No...? Amazing delivery
That would be me 100% 😂
"I don't understand the question and I won't respond to it" best line of all time for me
"I have the afternoon free."
"Oh, did nothing cancel?"
My favorite Lucille line is:
"Get rid of the Seaward."
"I'll leave when I'm good and ready."
@@guardianoftheduat no. It's "Seaward", which Lucille mistook for "c-word".
“I can’t spare the moisture.”
Possibly My favorite line ever
Brilliant
