Food for thought for: Blue Oyster mushrooms & chives. Using steamer basket in airfryer. Wipe w/damp towel, then dry towel & chop. Directions are 6 hrs. Then, I will try my zavor multicooker. It's bigger & has more functionality than my 7qt gourmia...Think you trouble-shot the crowding issue & prepping tech. Prepping affects the flavor & timing. It's worth it to me. Food is too pricey now. Thank you again.
One big part of dehydration is the thickness of the item. The thinner, the better. I delivered for a meat packing plant. On customer made beef jerky. They bought Ball tips, which are super lean but kind of tough. Perfect for jerky. They would semi freeze them and use a Hobart slicer to slice them very thin. Thin cuts dehydrated well.
Great tip! The challenge I face is that if the piece is too small, especially with fruits and vegetables, then sometimes it becomes hard to pull it off of the dehydrator mat.
When you'll be making dried tomatoes (cheery or other type) cut them in halves. Same as your chillis - they need to be exposed from the inside to get died. Living in Israel in the summer we can actually sun dry literally anything over 8-10 day hours 😀 But in fruit/veggie driers this proces takes longer. A tip for drying fruit/veggies in the oven: keep the door open for 1-2 cm, to le the moisture leave. I bet in professional dryiers this is an build in feature.
Great tip! I actually plan on making dried tomatoes in one of my next videos! I’m gonna be using my dehydrator then blending it to make a powder for easy reconstitution
oy vey, and there I was thinking I could use my air fryer for dehydrating - is it even worth trying (I was gonna give apple and banana a go) or do you really need a proper dehydrator? 🤔

you can dehydrate chilli under natural sunlight, free of charge. That is the traditional farmer’s method to dry chilli. Dry chilli under sun light.
So is there any food that a small air fryer with dehydrator mode can obtain decent results within a reasonable amount of time?
Tomatoes and fruits maybe, depends what’s reasonable for you?
Thanks for this!! Trying it today
Enjoy!!
Thank you!! ❤
Shame you didnt repeat the test for us to see with having made a cut in the chilis.
However you have saved some of us 80 hours so thanks for that 👍
haha after trying it I was fed up... and had tons of dried chilis. But next time for sure :)
180 Is the best temp
Gonna try next time! Took way too long
How long?
must be 100% dry
Absolutely

For Apple and banana it’s for sure worth a go :)
Putting some clips into your video doesn't make it funny or interesting, it only makes it cringey
😂
I liked the clips. I laughed. Don’t speak for everyone. @BadThrusher
@amanirosemusic thanks :)
