Some of them. Don't buy one made in Kentucky. I have 4k miles on a Camry hybrid XSE and it's already full of squeaks and rattles, and the speakers rattle so badly it affects the music.
Lexus sent engineers to US car shows when developing the 5.0L V8 with Yamaha. They determined that people like engines that rev at 400 Mhz to evoke a sense of orderliness and refinement, and then at 800 Mhz on WOT as you approach the redline so as to evoke a sense of euphoria and excitement like what you'd feel on a rollercoaster. And I have to say--it works!

Glad to see the IS500 F is under 3900 pounds so this would be a very useful bump in hp per pound over my C55. And the IS has port injection and no auto stop start. I want one...bad.
@@SarahnTuned I have to see what they all did to that engine for that price tag. Thank you Sara for an awesome revisit on this car. Owner here. I love every single aspect of this car except the braking performance. However, this is an easy fix by swapping a set of more aggressive pads and 10mm wider tire on the front (not sure why Lexus would fit 235 on 8.5' wheels where literally everyone else use 245). If you would like to go even more hardcore, you can change the front caliper to ISF's without changing the rotors. Also, while this car is on the heavier side, there are huge potentials on weight saving by swapping a lighter battery and exhaust. You can instantly achieve 16kg weight saving by taking out the spare tires and all the tire changing tools, which is huge if you are doing any aggressive driving. Now since the Dodge V8 is gone, this car is even more special to own and drive.
@@Yoshdogg The OEM Bridgestone is stretched for its sizes. This is a easy fix by going Michelin 4s, or Conti ESC02. You can also go Goodyear supercar 3 if you track the car often. And you sure can go 275 for the rear but for 9.5" wheel the optimal size is 265. I would personally stick with 265 rear just to have a bit fun for sliding.

Yes, I agree that the V8 engine and horsepower are the best parts of this car. My only concern is the transmission delay.
I recently had the option of getting this or the 350. Drove them both. Enjoyed both very much. I have to say, surprisingly the 350 was more responsive when I hit the gas. Not to say the 500 didn’t move, there was just a slight hesitation. But the 500 was $20k more. Given that essentially the only difference was v8 to v6, I didn’t think it justified the price difference.
