I have tried to but I can't buy this bike in the USA??!!?? How come you guys don't let us yanks get them I am in the market now! It's either this or easy motions atom lynx pro 6 27.5
I joined the revolution last year purchasing a focus jam 2 with tec pack, Its one great bike, Cant seem to run it out of power, But i tell you this i have always been a vitus e sommet fan, Unbelievable for the money 👍🔥👌🏻
I’ve just got the new vitus e Sommet 2019 and it’s an absolute weapon of a bike for the money can fault it.i just take the battery charger with me on long days riding and just charge up were I can.
Just for record, I ride '20 vrs version. Have had it for vouple monts now and absolutely love it. It delivers tons of fun and copes easily with most demading trails. To compare range just done 35km and 1450m elevationnon Saturday, 27km and 1750m elevation on Sunday. Most of time in Eco mid mode, swapped to high Eco mid ride on Sunday as my legs were tired.
Decent test but staying in ECO all the way would provide a true distance this bike could cover on one battery. Best I’ve had out of my Specialized Kenevo was 28 miles with 4200ft of climbing and finished up with 18% battery left.... a fair bit left in the tank💪🏼
I’ve just taken my Vitus e Sommet VR up to Glentress. Bike was amazing! Easily climbs all the way to the top in Eco mode and an absolute blast downhill with the 170mm suspension. Performs very like a normal high end mountain bike but with all the fun of effortless up hill travelling. Fantastic machine for the money. Can’t fault it!
got the Shimano e8000 motor on my Motobecane HAL this motor and battery combination it is a winner and makes riding trails a much different experience I now get to carry more momentum everywhere and complete climbs that I could never do under my own power only, I will probably get a spare battery to allow me to spend several hours on the bike
Please consider shipping to Canada. Ship the battery separately or without a battery if that’s the issue. Everything else has shipped ez to Canada (parts, tires, clothes)
Chain Reaction Cycles thanks. It’s my top pick right now. Getting ready to get an emtb soon. Hopefully shipping and availability on the sommet vr is sorted by then/fingers 🤞
I would take the power bars with a pinch of salt, the extrapolation relies heavily on the devices assessment of your input so it can become very unreliable at guessing the when you get well into a ride and a bit tired
I've got the 2019 VR it's an epic bike. A good test would be leaving it in each mode and doing the same loop. I'd like to think on ECO only two loops would be possible and maybe one fully on boost all the way. Great video 🤘
So. 35. Maybe 40 kilometers depending on how many hills. That's not a lot of distance for a rig that can cost over four grand (US dollars). We know many e-bike schmucks don't consider that a great deal of cash. But for a bicycle? We rather save-it for a truck.
daniel charlie fernandez many many variables go into the overall milage rider weight, weather conditions, pack weight, tyre size, tyre pressure, ground conditions, elevation, suspension travel, power mode, rider input. Admittedly 34k doesn’t seem huge but we don’t know all the variables
I think I'm gonna get one of these but before I do can somebody telle how much effort it takes to get up a steep hill because I'm not as young or as fit as I once was and don't want to be struggling up the steep hill to work........do you even have to pedal. I seen somewhere that its better if the drivetrains is in the middle for steep slopes, I haven't got a clue. Also is this bike one of the nest I can get it seems to have good reviews.....thanks in advance for any replies
Hi, the different modes give different levels of assistance so if you were to put it in boost mode then you could climb pretty much any incline. This particular bike is a mid drive pedal assist so basically it supplements your peddling power. You still have to pedal the bike it does not have a throttle. My advise would be to rent one out, a lot of bike shops offer short term rentals to see if it’s something that would work for you. They are great fun.
Well if something changes be sure to let the internet community know , i was emailing back and forth for an hour with one of your service representatives and i did state i was from the u.s. and after all we spoke about i finally was told the bike unfortunately can't be shipped to me. What a Bummer!!!
I did not know that this bike was even offered with the E7000 system. Certainly not on the website. Why test this system when the bikes on sale have the E8000 system?
Already got an eBike (Focus Jam2) however I would seriously consider the Vitus as the e7000 motor and kit spec is a great deal. Enjoyed the vid, it covered the reality of what most people are out there doing.
As much as I'd love one (and I'm a prime candidate for one - mid-50's, overweight and poor fitness), I just can't justify £3800 for a bike. Give me a shout when it gets down to £2k...
Have you joined the e-bike revolution yet? Love or hate them? Like our local trails? Let us know below... :)

We're doing our best to make them available in USA! Glad you like the bike :)

Hi guys, awesome machine can you keep on riding manually when the battery dies ?

yes I picked up a Vitus VRS e-sommet 2020, absolutely love it, can spend way more times on the trails.

Just ordered myself a Norco Sight VLT 2, can't wait for the experience.

28 miles with all that climbing, great job! Sounds like we need another day at Rostrevor in Eco :-) Watch this space...
Eco mode is actually pretty hard work and if that's the case you May aswell stick to a normal bike
I’ve just taken my Vitus e Sommet VR up to Glentress. Bike was amazing! Easily climbs all the way to the top in Eco mode and an absolute blast downhill with the 170mm suspension. Performs very like a normal high end mountain bike but with all the fun of effortless up hill travelling.

can you get a relacement motor without having to send the old one back like bosch do ?
got the Shimano e8000 motor on my

Got an E-Sommet VR 2018 its an amazing bike and so much fun
Awesome! What trails do you ride it on John?
That route looks class .....the bikes good also
I will get the 2020 version this year i think! :) My fitness is not good enough for a norma enduro bike . This will make it way more fun!
Need more vids on this as it's your flagship bike.
Need more vids on this bike, you have an award winning bike and theres hardly any info or vids about it. And about add ons e.g 2nd battery
Need a second battery thrown in like the focus jam has.
Please consider shipping to Canada. Ship the battery separately or without a battery if that’s the issue. Everything else has shipped ez to Canada (parts, tires, clothes)
We're working hard to try and make this happen - great to hear you like the bike :)

when will it be back in stock!?
This thing is nuts for the money
Please tidy up the cable between control switch and display.
Love them

Love that idea :)
Cracking video 👍🏻
Cheers Shane :)
Please drop the chain from the chainring and then kick the pedal forward to show how long the cranks spin by inertia.
On any ebike! Thanx
Good video, waiting for mine too turn up.
Nice! Let us know how you get on with yours :)
@@chainreactioncycles will do if it ever turns up lol.
Does the bike ride the bike with no battery power, or does the motor gearbox cause drag in the cranks when out of power
Did I miss where you say how far you got ?
13:19 3500 ft of elevation and 34km distance
Can you make the reach longer on the xl? Its 493mm Its a fair bit shorter than my nukeproof mega xl? Which is 515mm i think.

ya´ll getting wayyy to little range, my bike spends 1% per km moreless, so I can easily get 100km on my haibike sduro lt fullseven 6.0

Do they charge as your going down hill ?
We're not aware of any e-bikes that do this...yet :)
Ha ha!! Dream on!
I can feel my credit card heating up in my wallet....

Has to be a way to ship this to the states .
We're trying our best to be able to ship them to the USA...would love to be able to!

Hey can we not buy this bike in the USA?
We're not able to send e-bikes out of Europe yet - working hard to make it happen though. Glad you like the bike :)

You must still be waiting for a shout....
That's a pretty crap range test. I have this bike and regularly get 60+km and 1200m elevation out of the battery.
So basically not much range
