Yes, the advantages are clear, and as he said, when you are tired and need to train the ebike really allows you to get those runs down, meaning more training, more laps, more miles which in the long run will refine your skills faster.
It is really easy to translate the skills of an ebike to a normal bike, especially now that they make 18kg ebikes but it is important to switch from ebike to normal bike often to get it dialed and the advantages clearly outweigh the disadvantages. But hey, you are right, they are not the same and if you only ride your ebike and then race on a normal bike it might hinder you because you got too used to the heavy bike that your muscle memory affects your handling. The assistance thing is kind of counter-intuitive, my ebike has actually made me stronger because it rewards climbing efforts, therefore you are climbing more, and more technical and difficult climbs, so in return, you get stronger and more skilled at climbing. sorry if I spoke too much or sounded snobby, it was not my intention. have a wonderful day stranger:) and happy trails
I have run shimano E8000 so know the display very well and therefore the various modes and colours of those modes. Never saw eco in use once!! Pretty much trail mode all the way and a flash of boost ;) think someone is not telling the whole truth about the mode (eco) they say they use pretty much all the time. That aside I would love to have the skills he posesses !!!
I love Vitus bikes, I think they are the best priced and look awesome, this build in particular is a beauty, really well spec´d and a hell of a capable machine.
I noticed that he was running a slightly different controller on the left side of his bar for the power mode selection. Is this something that can be done to tidy up most cockpits? I have noticed on my merida, that the throw on the Steps 8000 control can interfere with the dropper post lever placement. Having a tidier i.e. smaller controller would let me run an alternate dropper lever making it much more ergonomic. If you can provide any pointers or information it would be super helpful. Loving the videos and all the inspiration to ride! Keep it up!
@@embn Thanks guys! I will check it out now. Appreciate the speedy response too! Quick edit: Absolutely perfect suggestion on the video. I have just ordered my self the E6000 shifting unit and can't wait to tidy it all up. Pumped for the extra hours of daylight on the trails now!
Hey Steve, I've got an e160 and put the same mode selector on mine combined with a wolftooth ispec dropper lever, it's so much better than the factory set up
Have put the same shock on my Merida E 160 and took a chance with clearance. Had to take the coil off it when i got it and fully compress the shock to check. Onlu 3mm clearance, but its enough.
OMG I love HOPE brakes. After crap Shimano and Sram brakes my Tech3 E4 are so dam good. Also using the floating rotors. Those 2 world wide companies make shit brakes in 2019 and little company called Hope smokes them.
Do you think we will start to see more DH pros riding ⚡️bikes for training? Let us know 👇

I like how he says he runs in Eco all the time and the footage shows him in boost and trail 🤔
Awesome bike with awesome parts👏🏻‼️‼️
Great looking bike an trail. Also great rider. So looking forward to buying a e bike next year.
Great video. 👍 Where about in the lakes is this, I’d love to ride there?

Dang, that's a trick bike!
Nice background.
Awesomeness
#askembn Why don't you people use rear mudguards? I often see the front mudguard but no rear one. Aesthetics or some practical reasons?
Mountain biking is a muddy sport, accept it
Any mods needed to fit that rear shock. Vitus said a coil would foul when i emailed them about me changing.
This may be the case Chris with some shocks and frame sizes. Did you quote the frame size you are running when you spoke with them?
@@embn Yes large.. I'll speak to Pearce cycles about trying a shock as they are my local Ohlins dealer.
@@thesolidedgeexpert Awesome!

Wish you would do a similar vid on the original not his changed version
Hope bar, Hope Rotors, Hope , it all works
What's makes the front mudguard?

R R P .. Pro guard .. Small.. By the looks of it.
