Do you think Gearboxes should be used more in Downhill? 🤔 if so let us know why! 👇
It's the future on MTB all together, but because of patents it holds back everything.
should of years ago.... Honda
For sure.
Faster, cleaner and more reliable
Yes you don't have to pedal to shift there more durable they are be heavier but it doesn't matter because there in centre of mass
Yes, of course, there’s always need for tech innovation to improve racing.
Incredible! Not only is the tech genius but just look at it! Absolutely smashed it out the park with this one! What a piece of kit👏👏👏
They were my favorite downhill bike designers at Eurobike2023! They even explained what not to go for as an amateur and answered all my nerd questions and then some!😍
The absolut greatest Bike on earth.
I switched to a Nicolai Argon with 12 speed Pinion with belt Drive a few month ago, and love the feel of it. The backwheel is much lighter, which is a really big deal. Even on a Hardtail, its an amazing feeling and the back of the bike is much better controllable than on my 2021 Trek Fuel EX.
WOW amazing gearbox, awesome show..
I wouldn’t buy many “futuristic” bikes but I’d buy this
Gearboxes should definitely be used in DH. I wonder if Pinion is working on a dogbox sequential variation, that would definitely remove the stress on the gears out of the gate when riders max out their crank output and shift at the same time.
The future or mtb, beautiful tech, cheers
Amazing bike
Interesting tube shape, and rear
Love it 😻 dh bikes
One thing we didn't get was the pressure in the tyres.😢
I was really interested in the frame construction and the rear swing arm, wasn’t really much said about that! Is it a big secret?
That bike is hotter than any soccer mom out there🥵
Podium pinions in 2024?
Watch out for the Zerode G3
I really want a belt drive fixie.
I'd also like to see how the rear shock link works with that swing arm.
It's in a short on the gmbn channel.
@@andyb9664 found it thanks!
So if your doing thirty mph and you lock up the rear end it'll shift back to first gear or otherwise confuse it?
Yeah they should it’s lighter on the rear triangle which would make the sus feel better
🤤🤤🔥
Sram and shimano will lobby pinion the hell out of market
Doubtful. Pinion has been around for a while now mostly in the touring bike market. But with the MGU they are very interesting for the e-bike market (low maintenance is a huge plus for many people). So, they will become more visible and with that harder to be ignored by bike manufacturers.
@@etherealicer i hope so. Undeniably shimano and sram will try to push the pinion e-bike motor out of market. The amount of market power they have over bike manufacturers is huge. They'll do everything in their power to exclude Pinion from becoming a common OEM supplier.
I want more MGU's to check out! Seems like the future to me....an eBike guy....
Awesome bike. Any idea if the bike will become commercially available? Thank you
Zerode have one coming out. Ready for order
@@lancejarman1 Indeed they do.. set to release around April 24.. They had a presale about a month or so back.
I have one on order. Arrives last week of January
@@lancejarman1 Nice! Good luck to you with it! Did you get the enduro or the DH?
ZERODE G3 DH with Smart shift
Gearbox on downhill?
I want 😀
That looks like an Enduro capable bike.
I love the look of the Dorado's but I bet those stantions get absolutely hammered being upside down. Also, belt drive makes sens for downhill as you are not pedalling too much
Not sure why people think this. I've owned two generations of Dorados and both had zero stanchion damage throughout their lives. The guards are massive and the only exposed surfaces are behind so unless you load it into a bike rack wrong or something then you don't need to worry about it.
Not really, I've had the Dorado Pro for a while now and the stanchions are well protected
Why does anyone worry about upside down forks stanchions getting scratched if it performs best I’m going for it. Also it rarely getting scratch even Dirtbike forks don’t get beat up to much with just those plastic covers
@@jonjonjonnyjon exactly, but I'd argue scratching stanchions while loading the bike somewhere is easier on "regular" forks because there are no guards at all.
@@jonjonjonnyjon Thats good to know! Thanks
Lets know the price, performance and durability before we rob a bank.
I love your contents, can I get a comment heart?
Neat with 15 washers instead of a bush? BODGE!
Yuck, I don't even drive cars with automatics. I bet this bike weighs 45 lbs or more, so only good for serious downhill tracks.
It's at 18.5kg ish from guys over at Pinkbike who asked Gamux. Relatively spec weight for a DH bike. My Commencal V4.4 is at 19kg.
Its not really an automatic, think of it more as a sequential with autoshift. You can bangshift it into gear and also program it to auto shift when you want.
Ive always said that belt drive and gear boxes belong in dh
Should be on ebikes as well
@@DannyC3636 Especially on e-bikes. The amount of e-bike customers we've had coming in with broken chains is alarming.
All chains should be belt driven.
