I like both Blu ray & 4K Of course there is a cost & availability factor so I still get loads more Blu rays than any other format (including 3 DVD's in the last fortnight)
Same here. I can't see any advantage of 4K unless I get a huge screen that I don't really have room for. It's really annoying that companies are starting to restrict their full load of extras to 4K releases.
You can never go wrong with a video of two articulate people discussing a subject with which they both have knowledge and experience. Superb video and expert interview, Heath! You have cornered the UA-cam market on these exclusive and invaluable investigative profiles of the other side of the hobby. Really remarkable stuff, my friend. Tartan Video! Wow..., that's a name from years gone by. A really important company, who introduced me to Asian/J-Horror via their Asia Extreme releases here in the U.K.
Expecting more eggs (releases) in fewer baskets (collectors) is potentially the biggest risk to the hobby. Every person who drops out takes a lot of spend with them. Some companies pushing higher prices, especially on 4K releases, doesn't help. For those buying a lot, big sales are really the only option. Can the labels keep going if everyone waits for the sale? I don't know. It was good to hear a label head touch on some of this. These interviews are some of the most valuable episodes you do, Heath.

You and Brian at Just the Discs are the only 2 film fans to give love and insight to this great boutique label . They are one of my favorites for all the reasons you mention . Along with superior packaging , among the bonus elements I love is the inclusion of alternate / international cuts of different films . I think you or Sam hit the nail on the head , even in a tangential way: Powerhouse is like a cross between the “serious / important cinema “ of Criterion with the bonus features and super deluxe treatment of Arrow ?? Getting to see some behind the scenes with Sam and his take on the label , their slant / mission as well as his take on the industry was fantastic!! My intro to Powerhouse was the special edition of Night of the Demon / Curse of the Demon . A truly superior immersive experience to film and film history that really hooked me in !!! Thanks so much Heath !!

While I haven’t purchased every release Indicator has put out, I’ve been buying from them for about 2 1/2 years now and I am always surprised at what they have coming out. The next release I’m looking for to is ‘Straitjacket,’ a late 60s Joan Crawford hag flick. Scream Factory released it a year or so back, but the Indicator release has new special features. The region locking system is a pain, agreed. Indicator has a Region B release of ‘Jagged Edge’ with Glenn Close, yet I haven’t been able to find a Region A release. Maybe eventually…
When I buy an Indicator release you know it's going to be so well done (same with Arrow) I do like that they have spine numbers (I can't of course get everyone financially that's impossible and not every release is to my taste - been down that rabbit hole with the HMV premium collection 🙄) A great British Label.
Great interview. I treasure my Indicator buys: the Boetticher set, the William Castle set ... especially because 13 GHOSTS includes that miracle of motion picture science: ILLUSION-O!!! (I found an eBay vendor who made replicas of the Illusion-O viewers, and so am able to experience this cinematic marvel. Haven't yet been able to do the same with Emerg-O or Percept-O, coldurnit. ) The extras on these movies are gold. It is kind of sad that we have to go outside the States to get these loaded sets; thank you, Mr Dunn. Loved the comments on the need for extra storage space. My next home needs to utilize TARDIS technology. (Need width more than height ... I don't do well with ladders.)
From the earliest days of DVD's I've needed to import which can get quite pricey so has to be done on a very few titles. It's great there are some many great labels worldwide - Imprint (Australia), Turbine (Germany) ,Arrow and Indicator (here in the UK) plus of course all the great US labels to name but a few.
Just about ten minutes (The Santo part) and I'm loving this. This kind of coverage AFAIK is exclusive of Cereal at Midnight, that's what makes you different, special, unique and recognizable. Channels come and go from my radar but for all I watch and care CatM is here to stay. Greetings from Sweden!

Very interesting discussion, especially seeing where the market is going. I'm both surprised and not about the 4K shift. Perhaps my set up isn't particularly amazing, but I still find blu-ray a very strong format. 4K looks great, but blu-ray is very serviceable. As a collector, I've not felt the need to update the titles I have to that format. But will buy newer films on 4K to watch. For me the pricing is a little too high at the moment, but will get there!

I just picked uo the new Indicator Patrick Limited blu ray. Been collecting for a long time now somehow this is my first release I've bought from them
