Not sure if I should be grateful or resentful for this tutorial. On the one side, I've been able to see what I was doing wrong and have been extremely happy with how the blades/weapons I've been painting since watching this have come out. On the other hand, I now feel the urge to repaint all of my other Necrons who don't have this method... I'm gonna go with grateful though. Nicely done!
Juan I just wanted to say, this was some of the best advice I could have asked for! my blades look SO MUCH BETTER than I could have ever hoped, even though they pale in comparison to yours! You are one of the best!
I just want to say thank you a lot. I have watched probably 30 videos and no matter how hard i tried to get these blades down for my Skorpekh Destroyers I just couldnt do it. But for my lynchguard i decided to give it another try and with ur video i finally made it work.
This is an awesome tutorial with lots of carefully explained detail on quite a difficult technique to get right - I'm going to try and replicate it on my new Necron army!
Man you can't believe how much you helped me. The Plasmancer is among my first minis and the way this technique elevated my army is beyond insane. Thank you so much man. Sadly, I can't support you financially as of now, but I will make sure this video, and you channel in general gets more exposure (as it deserves) by spreading it across all platforms I'm on. Cheers brother.
This is such a fantastic tutorial! My first run did turn out quite as well, but im still happy with the result and can’t wait to try again on another blade to see if I can improve
First time I actually comment one of your videos, they are all exceptionaly good but this one surpasses them. You're on the way to become the new Darren Latham my dear, hats off to you!
Great tutorial, simple and easy to understand! I would have personally applied a thin coat of Ardcoat on the blade to do a small shiny effect on the weapon but that's just my taste ^^
I don't like that because it detracts from the blending work and if I want to paint something shinny I like to paint the effect myself. I personally never use gloss varnish but I understand why people do and I respect it. Always do what makes you happy
This video is superb. I finally understand glazing thanks to this tutorial. Also the music is great ... reminds me of Darkwoods for some reason. Great job on this tutorial!!
You went no less than 2-3 steps further than i'd have, to fantastic results! And now i have the itch to try this same method on my undead robots, *but using metallic paints instead*

Hi, thanks for your great tutorial.. My result isn't fantastic like yours but due to your detailed explanation and showing the handling I got a good start in glazing and building up a colour👍
Great video thanks. Your channel is fast becoming my go to resource currently. I wasnt to try this on a force sword on my next librarian....always been very daunting looking at this type of paintjob.
Such an amazing job as always, we made an airbrush guide way faster/simpler method, but your results are more than stunning, Saludos desde México Juan!

Amos a ver Juan...creo que me he enamorado...el verde va a ser mi más mejor color/amigo a partir de ahora 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Me encanta el acabado tan suave en el cambio de tono que le has dado. The base coat mix will look perfect for my dark angel army, pure caliban green is a crap paint to get smooth no matter how many thin coats I try.
I never had any problems with it but this mix is a bit lighter and I think it looks great
Caliban Green might as well be water if you want to paint it over a black primer.
