Hello. So glad to listen to you. I started in the shoe craft in 1977. I was used to learn from a country to another. I also came to the same reflexion about THE LAST. The walking foot is dynamic and measures have to take into account the contraction - dilatation while walking. Totally agree with you. Much respect for you and your team. Regards
Just bought some Malham boots and yes, the role on the forefoot was noticeable from the off. The heel feels nice and generally comfortable throughout. Looking forward to my first walk in them.
What a nice story told with feeling and sincerity. Altberg are still the best motorcycle boots on the market for my money. Great comfort, durability and wet-weather performance. Mike, thanks for keeping my feet warm, dry and comfortable for the last 30 years - I'm on my third pair! Superb.
I have some Altbergs which I use for hiking and they were comfy and supportive from day 1. Now my daughter borrows them for her Duke of Edinburgh trekking. Thanks for lovely video.
I have just received my Malham’s back from Altberg after having a resole. Waterproof, light and well made, they have been my footwear when I walked the Welsh Coast Path, Yorkshire Wolds and The Cleveland Way. Thank you for your craftsmanship and service.
Great stuff Mike - As William is/was your mentor - you Sir were mine - amazing that after all these years that you are still so dedicated to your craft - a true shoe dog. Brilliant and educational video, thank you.
He didn't even talk about the boot directly but sold me on them... Now i need a pair. Ive been eyeing uo altbergs for a while as I'm wanting a good walking boot for when i walk the dogs, i think these are the ones.
Until I found Altberg I always had trouble finding boots that fitted. I've three pairs of different weights, one resoled. Thanks so much, love the video.
I had a pear of Chris Brasher boots that lasted 17 years. Bought a pair of Altberg Malhams as a replacement and have had years of service out of them. Lets hope they last as long or longer than the Brashers.
Your boots are excellent. I order them from across the pond. The quality is superb. Super comfortable and durable Thank you so much for been such innovator and for delivering such quality products.
Amazing stuff Mike and thanks for the video. I bought a pair of Altberg Kven as a treat for myself for Christmas 2022 and can attest to the AForm last toe lift making walking so much easier. I've used these every day since receiving them and never had a blister or hotspot or anything. All of my previous boots all gave me rubs and scuffs somewhere but these Kven's are simply superb. My dad - who's now 93 - always says, years ago people understood and appreciated quality. I understand now what he means.
my Altberg (sky walker) motorcycle boots i have had for over 20 years and walked all over France , Spain and America in them once you you have bedded them in you will never buy another make .
Lovely! Thank you for this informative and invigorating story. I didn't think anything could turn my head from my trusty Lowa GTX (I'm on my third pair) but the Malham may do it.
Last 10 yrs or so I've had 2 pair of Meindl, second pair now starting to leak so it's new boot time and this video and Mike(got name from comments) has made my mind up, Quick question for anyone,I enjoy doing a bit of scrambling so obviously the boot gets a few knocks, would the Malhams be OK or should I go for a "tougher" outer.
@@petermatthews5057 quality, I had a pair of mammots for 10yrs as my winter walking boots. They eventually wore out so I invested in some Altbergs. They lasted 2 winters and the leather failed to the extent that they could not be proofed. I tried talking to Altberg who were not interested saying it was a care/use issue as if I've never owned a pair of boots before..... my winter walking pattern hasn't really changed. I gave up trying to converse with Altberg and the boots are in the garage covered in cobwebs. I bought a pair of Scarpas instead and they are far better. If that hasn't convinced you and you are still considering altbergs you need to read the advertising carefully. They are keen to push the UK made boots but in truth only a small percentage are. The rest and affordable ones are cheap imported rubbish which should be in the budget/low end section of Sports Direct.
I've had my Malham boots for 18 months now. They are the best boots I've ever walked in. Wonderful. It's true! They want to walk.
I wish I had a boss like this guy.
My first pair are being retired this month after about 12 years and many adventures. Second pair on their way

I could listen to Mike all day. You dont need to be into boots/bootmaking to take something from his videos. What an inspiration 🙂

I got a pair a few days ago. Outstanding. Really comfy, not heavy like my Brashers or Meihndals
your boots and storytelling is something else, wish good health to you 🙏

Fascinating to hear the thinking behind the making of this boot!!
I always look forward to a new Altberg video ! It is so rewarding to watch this very likable man educate and entertain us. Best regards.
I could watch you all day, fascinating fella.

Lovely!
Alt Berg are the best. I still have my old North Fell boots, and I'm wearing them in the Brecon Beacons this weekend.
Great video!
I hope you have a great midsummer🌞
All the BEST from 🇸🇪

Had a pair of altbergs for a few years now, they are very well made boots :)
The leather on mine is splitting and I've tried all kinds to stop it but no joy

But not in different width fittings ?
I reckon that a young lad from Whitby way @hazeoutdoors would have a grand time chatting with you on a walk
Just what the doctor ordered Mike. The lighter footwear helps us all. Thank you
Aren't Alt Berg boots all made in Italy?
No. Yorkshire England
@@darrenjones3080 no, italy. I asked them via email so bought Scarpa instead
Direct copy of Brasher hill master. Sympatex is inferior to goretex.
Worst boots I've ever owned.
How come ? Quality?, Fit?
