Feeling so nostalgic... Miss Leeds !! Best part is we use to walk around the city the way you did ... so its like I am walking through lanes of Leeds !! Thanks for this video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for uploading. It’ll be an eye opener for those watching in years to come, when things are (hopefully) back to normal. Surprising to see McD’s & market were still open at this stage - and a lack of face coverings. I’m guessing this footage was filmed at the start of the shutdown, at a time when Boris and his advisers were telling people face coverings served no purpose. 🤦🏻♂️ Forward on a month or so and city centre turned into a complete ghost town with virtually all businesses closed and the streets deserted. The only people you saw were the homeless drug addicts. It was like zombie nation- quite depressing. Thanks again for uploading.
I'm Brazilian and I live in Brazil, I don't speak English, I only speak Portuguese, I'm using the translator, I really want to visit Leeds England, maybe one day, thanks for the video ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This reminds me of when me and my cousin used to go to town first thing on a Saturday morning in 2001. It'd be as quiet as this. We'd go to Burger King as soon as it opened then hit all the guitar shops.
Only had reason to go into Town twice during Lockdown, and it was so depressing - shuttered and boarded up and closed down shops and businesses, red barricades and blocked off and dug up roads, signs with warnings about Covid 19 at every turn, carelessly discarded masks on the floor, the sounds of drilling, digging and construction the only signs of civilisation.
Leeds was at its best around the mid 90's till about 2005- too much sterile gentrification now & I wish they'd fuck off building these ugly student tower blocks!! they're everywhere now, encasing the city centre like a plague of boils! Leeds has lost its soul.

loved walking through the city center at 6.30 in the morning and not seeing another soul. the air was clean and there wasn't a car anywhere.

Leeds has lost its soul.
Leeds was the most boring, dulest city I´ve ever been to. There really is no reason to go there.
But many people do go there?!
students, shoppers, day trippers & visitors from Scandinavia/ the Netherlands etc
just saying Sherlock! lol
Leeds rocks, it's great when students are around.
@@beatlespennylane19 agree, same with most large UK cities, great places. Hopefully we can return to normality soon.
