Englands 3rd largest city (fact) leeds is a very underrated place. Its actually the 2nd largest financial centre after london and currently one of the most happening cities in the uk with mass development, currently over 25 cranes up in the cc with numerous skyscraper buildings over 30floors under construction or planned to go up. The city has a very modern wealthy feel to it with a good mix of old architecture and new buildings that mix well.
I live in Halifax and its a nice journey on the train to Leeds. I remember in the 1980's seeing pop stars buying clothes from Leeds city centre. Lovely people in Leeds and a great place to visit.
I'm not from Leeds, but lived 20 miles away until I moved overseas. What I love about the city is the fact that apart from it being a buzzing wealthy city, unlike other comparable cities it has managed to maintain it's reputation for being a very friendly place. Leeds has so much to offer, first rate restaurant's, upscale shops and everyday shops, great nightlife and some lovely suburbs, yet all this is within a short journey to the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and other historic places such as York and Knaresborough.
A really great video! Just showing what an incredibly vibrant place Leeds is and the fantastic architecture, parks and pedestrian areas. Lived here all my life bar one year and `I love it!
Massive leeds fan from Sweden. Been a fan since 97/98 season. Still is and i remember the ups and downs very well unfortunately. I was wondering if it's easy to get work and apartment in Leeds ? Always wanted to move to Leeds or around. Love this vid. Peace and love from Sweden
Generally it’s a pretty walkable city and they are installing trams at some point so it’ll become even easier to get around in the future. It can be pretty pricey to live there but a good wage will afford you a good flat near the centre and Leeds has pretty good wages.
Great video i didnt know that leeds has so much to offer. Makes me want to visit the city maybe also Bradford greetings from Eindhoven the Netherlands 🇳🇱
As a born and bred Londoner, who has always thought that "my city" was the centre of the universe, and everywhere else was just grass and yokels, I was astonished the first time I went to Leeds, about 30 years ago. It is a properly impressive and beautiful city, that feels wealthy, and important.
Lived in Leeds 94 to 2005 and I think it's still one of my spiritual homes. Despite all the changes, it still looks very familiar. Wish we could have seen the City Varieties and the Merrion Centre! Thank you for a wonderful tour. Keep up the good work.

Another nice walk, it's a lot of years since I've been to Leeds and it looks a brilliant place to to look round. They seem to have got the balance right between shops and high end shops and foodie places and bars. It reminds me of Nottingham.
Very nostalgic tour-thanks for posting. Towards the end at 59:59 you passed what was then known as Atlas Chambers, the building on the corner of King Street and St Pauls Street. I started work there in September 1971 and it's truly impossible to comprehend the scale of the change to the city centre. You didn't have time to explore all the other stuff going on in this dynamic young city (Arena Quarter, Wellington Place, South Bank, Leeds Dock/Armouries) there's enough there for another video. All good stuff!
This was great in every way. Loved the great camera and the pace of things. I used to take the train from Harrogate to shop at Schofield's dept store and have a nice lunch. Thanks for the updated look at Leeds.
