Christina Reynolds LoL ... I don’t know wether to laugh or cry... it’s a psychological mind game. Yet I find so many reasons and moments that trigger the behavior, and the satisfaction from it, makes you desire it more.
When I’m surrounded by people that aren’t smokers or are ill , I don’t smoke around them , could spend 10 hours with them and I’m fine , no anxiety.
But when o leave and. I’m in my car or at my personal space my heart starts pumping , the anguish increases and the craving becomes overwhelming.
And that feeling is my main fear to quitting .
At the same token I’m conscious that I’m giving cigarettes the power to beat my will .
Quit smoking comes to everyone in different way. I know I will reduce more and more til I’m no longer doing so

@Christina Reynolds That has been my experience. Everyone around me can see the difference in my skin tone I look and feel so much better. And yes sleep is also so much better and I can recuperate so much more. There is no downside to stopping smoking. It's like getting back to normal, the way it should be. I have smoked for about 35 years and have quit over a year ago and have never looked back. Not to mention all the money I saved so far. This is a no brainer . I stopped by reading Allen Carr's the Easy Way to stop Smoking. All the best.

This has to be the most helpful video I've ever seen on quitting. I've quit twice where it was relatively 'easy' because I was in the right mindset... I am quitting for the last time soon and needed to hear this to get back towards that right mindset. Turning it into a punishment, martyrdom, self-disapproval NEVER worked for me. I had to twist and bend the situation until I could do it out of self love. Until it became _spoiling myself_ to quit instead of _depriving myself_ . Thank you. I will be watching this video daily.

I’m 34 and I smoked for almost 20 years. I did quit but got back to because of alcohol. Anyway.
I quit now, cold turkey, about 6 days ago.
And I can see that Smoking wasn’t my only problem, but it was connected with a lot of other habits, like taking my time and being lazy.
I had some health issues, but it’s nice to get rid of a certain lifestyle.
I had a lot of associations with smoking, bit by bit they go away.

No habit is dropped in one afternoon, but one decision can be made in one afternoon and what comes after it is sticking to that decision. I am happy for everyone who stopped and I am happy I stopped after 15 years as well, but it will always be a journey

    • @PowerofQuiet
      @PowerofQuiet  5 років тому +5

Lots of habits are dropped when people get real with themselves and see why they were holding onto the habit. It's a moment of mental discrimination and a conscious choice to drop the whole thing, lock, stock and barrel. When the decision to let go is made completely, there is nothing left to pull on you.
Otherwise, yes, it's a journey. This is because one also makes the decision to let go of the habit, but not completely. So the journey lasts as long as it takes to completely let go.
This is our show. Everything we experience is our creation.

I once quit smoking for 9 months. I was stupid to try it again and then I never stopped for past year and a half. I stopped smoking through fasting and prayer and trusting upon Jesus. I've done some shameful things unintentionally that made me smoke cigarettes. But I will give it up again and I don't want to smoke cigarettes ever again. It makes me feel guilty because I come from a godly Christian background and I love Jesus very much and I didn't mean to disappoint Him because He owns my life. Cigarettes is bad don't ever try it. I will give it up soon through Jesus Christ ✝️✝️🙏🙏❤️❤️🙏🙏✝️✝️

Any processed food is just as harmful and addictive as cigarettes. Driving cars as well, they are harming all living creatures, including yourself by polluting the environment. If God is the reason why you are going to quit smoking cigarettes because he owns your life than you should consider quiting these other ones that I've mentioned and some more that I haven't too. Quit because you want or need to make a change in your life. Just don't use God for that reason. Anyway, wish you the best!

I love your love for Jesus. We can do all things through Him. He delivered me from smoking weed completely. Now I am on day 3 of trying to quit vaping. The enemy tries to lie to me saying I am depressed now and have nothing to do anymore. I felt the same way after being delivered from my other addictions. Addiction has taken many lives not only in my family, but in this world. Jesus loves you unconditionally, smoking or not smoking. He already died on the cross for all of our sins, every single one,, once you gave your life to Him you have been forgiven, even if you died smoking. You will still be saved. Now however youre still alive so let this be your testimony to share to others how you could not do it without King Jesus and He delivered you. I believe after many of my attempts of trying to kick nicotine, I couldn't, but now He is involved and through Him I can do anything. He waits for His perfect timing. Once we know we cannot do anything without Him and that its only Him. its DONE! thank you Jesus and please give us our Victory in quitting! Bless Franklin. Deliver Him and anyone else trying to quit Lord, Show us your grace and mercy Lord. Thank you!

Part of that is caring for my own health, and being a beam of encouragement when I'm in a position like yours. For me it was the day when my niece said, "uncie Sam, stop moking, I want you to see be turn 5, she was 4 at the time.
I didn't quit cold turkey, but bought a pack and monitored my normal routines, found out I was smoking 16 cigarettes a day. WTF!
So, I immediately cheated and cut down to 8 but only smoked half a cigarette and the other half later.
I stopped smoking in my car, I didn't bring them to work, except for two, one for my break and one after work.
I bought a grip strengthener, started doing box breathing exercises, used the stairs, check to see how long I could hold my breath, and a few other things that I tried, some I liked some I didn't. After 3 months, I quit. Although I did have an occasional puff off a friends, or had too many drinks and had a cigarette or two. But eventually I quit.
    Every day is a battle.
The single best way to quit any addiction is to want to quit, no one is going to do it for you.

This is helpful. I am on my first day with quitting smoking. Something happened last night, I didn’t drink alcohol for couple of months and this last week I relapsed. Felt that empty feeling that it wasn’t satisfying after 4 of 5 beers and immediately felt renewed determination to continue being sober. Never won’t to go back to that place anymore. With these came the strong urge to quit smoking also. This message with self-love and this guided part was so relieving. I always picked up cigarette when feeling sad. Now I am letting go of disapproving myself and I am letting go of condemning myself. Thank you

I quit 32 years ago and don't miss it at all. I found the trick to it was seeing it for what it is....an addiction that is out to kill you. After I found out that the cravings last about two years and finally go away it was easier to see an end to it. When I got cravings, I would conjure up a cigarette monster and fight with it rather then myself because that's what you're dealing with...a monster. Chewing gum helped a lot but I don't believe that nicotine gum is the way to go. You have to start with a commitment and arm yourself against the "MONSTER". Lastly, you have to learn to hate tobacco and understand it's not your friend. Your friend would not want to kill you.

But I still subscribed because I am addicted to spiritual teachers haha I came across this video today, a day when I said I would stop smoking but didn't. A normal pattern in my life for the past four years. I think I'm in love with you. I am quitting both kratom and Tobacco and Caffeine, which have wrecked havoc on my life. I used to smoke meth, pot and other drugs but got off all that years ago. I decided it's best to quit one program at a time. Kratom is more difficult since the withdrawal is actually significant since it is akin to heroin withdrawal, but not as bad. I will quit kratom first, then once I'm over the initial hump I will drop smoking which has very mild, insignificant withdrawal. I will continue consuming your loving content! You are a great teacher

This is a very inspiring video. I noticed a good diet, with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables helps alot. Also a good multivitamin strengthens the body against withdrawal symptoms. Taking fluids and physical activity accelerates the flushing of nicotine from the body through sweating. But most importantly the battle is won in the mind. Once you are in control of the mind, you have won the battle.

Just literally prayed in tears. I think realizing how weak I was actually helped. Like it was okay to just rest. It was okay to feel not perfect. It was okay to just let God take care of it in whatever way He wanted. All I know is I have stayed away from 2 things I was never able to stop since being 16 (I am now 33). Prayed when I was 30. 3 years quit. I had no willpower btw. Literally none.

I did try to quit several times but all of them were in "I'll try to quit" mindset, therefore weren't successful. This time I never felt so determined. I was sick of all this side effects and decided to let whatever happen and thought it wouldn't be worse than continuing to smoke. It's been 7 days now and I feel totally fine. Sometimes I feel cravings but I know they won't last and eventually they will be over. In the meantime I started doing yoga which is a huge help. Also been meditating for almost three months. Good exercise for the mind. Also I recommend "Stop Smoking Sleep Hypnosis Session" by Thomas Hall. It's an 8 hour sequence of powerful hypnotic suggestions. L-tyrosine; it makes you feel like you just had a smoke and will take that terrible anger away. I know that anger and found this amino acid that will develop the dopamine you are missing when you quit smoking. Nicotine has replaced natural hormones in the brain so as the nicotine leaves, the brain has to come up with its natural pharmaceutical design and that takes time. So, L-tyrosine comes into play and will get you through it. If you didn't quit, you can now--500 mg in the morning and after dinner, it will get you through the anger. Use only the capsules not the tablets.

There's a great video by a hypnotherapist, but for ten minutes he just talks about the endorphin release your body puts out to combat the nicotine. Apparently nicotine doesn't relax us, the protective endorphins do, which we can get from many other healthy things. I'll find the guys name and add it on. I haven't quit yet, but just diagnosed with Kidney cancer, so I have to.

Today I just had to do a video search on how to quit smoking. Cuz as I was walking my 2 dogs, carrying 2 leashes, stopping to pick up poop, all while out of breath and only having 2 hands to handle all this. I had a thought. Wouldn’t it be easier if you weren’t such a smoking scumbag. I have to look trashy to anyone who sees me trying to balance all this, when if I just put my dirty friend down it would make that moment so much easier. I was programming negative thoughts: I am weak, I can’t quit, I’m such a loser, I hate how they control my life, I am off putting to others, I’m gonna die a horrible death, I’m looking old, I’m destroying my skin.......so I found this video. It opened my eyes. I am in control and this is where I can find my path. I feel great right now. Your words are powerful. I will re-watch it until I really empty out what I need to let go of. Thank you. A+++

Yeah, all that is just words your mind is throwing at you - just words. When you look closely at the mind, you can quickly see it for what it is - just a voice in your head, a recording and playback machine. The only information it has is information that it has recorded (garbage, from the past).
But who is that mind talking to? Who is aware of it. When you look, you easily see your True Presence. It's like looking for your eyeglasses, and you've been wearing them the whole time.

The method is right, if you let your emotions go through you and dont suppress them, living them out you have the best chance at leaving everything thats unhealthy for you. Big up!

    Most important to remember-
    1. Cold Turkey is the best option
    2. Replace your cig addiction with working out
    3. Never keep count of being smoke free
    4. Start detoxing with healthy food and teas
    5. Remind that you are cleaning the toxicity inside of your body
    6. There is a large population of non smokers than smokers and now you are a part of it

I quit 25 hour's ago. Been smoking since I was 16 I'm 39 almost 40. I've tried to quit many times. I'm on the patch. I've quit for 6 months before and starred again because of drinking alcohol. Thank God I quit drinking in 2013. I quit drinking cold turkey it was easy for me. But smoking is so hard. I will not smoke another cigarette again. I promised my kids. I want to live for my kids and me so I can see they dreams come true and watch there kids grow. I will succeed this time. It's really hard right now. Lots of craving. I feel foggy and tired but can't rest. I hope everyone is successful in quitting smoking!

You can do it! Those feelings are just feelings. They seem real but it's not like they show up in physical form and push you around. They belong to you, therefore you are the owner, the boss.

My uncle and his wife just left after a two weeks vacation. My uncle was smoking cigarettes during his/wife stay at our house. I don’t smoke cigarettes but when someone does smoke cigarettes I’m like a magnet I start smoking too which I did. The last cigarettes box my uncle left I finished yesterday. I told myself yesterday that I will stop too because he is no longer here, But this morning and during the day all I could think of was wanting to smoke one. I’m watching your video to somehow convince me that I’m not going to the store to buy one.

@@PowerofQuiet indeed. You are the first person I've met who has made it this simple. I've been on my journey for a few years now and this is another huge point along the way.
I just wanted to let you know how much this means to me personally as well as the good you're doing for others. From my heart to yours: thank you for sharing this.
I will certainly join one of your retreats in the future if,, for no other reason, than to thank you and give you a big Russian hug in person.

And indeed, I feel unlimited. My wife does a therapy where she 'reunited' the broken pieces of my self (childhood, where I switched off... Adulthood with resulting addictions). Once I felt whole, I ran into you and this simple process has now allowed the "whole me" to progress with amazing results.
I didn't mention that only two days after watching your first video, I was offered the dream job of my life. It was such a dream that I had never even imagined it.
