Welcome back, fang gang! Join UA-camr VampX13 as she reviews the seventh episode of The Acolyte, episode 7 Choice. The Acolyte is a Star Wars show that is appearing on Disney Plus starring Lee Jung-jae as Sol, Carrie-Anne Moss as Indara, Amandla Stenberg as Mae and Osha, Dafne Keen as Jecki Lon, Manny Jacinto as Qimir, Rebecca Henderson as Vernestra, Charlie Bennet as Yord Fandar. Your statements about Anakins birth are not entirely true. Anakin was a retaliation by the force itself against the sith's attempt to create life.
This sort of "sentience" by The Force is very interesting

I was definitely seduced by Mother Aniseya, but I guess Torbin had something else on his mind.
Notice that it took a large group of women to seduce Kelnacca.
Inter species relationships hardly ever work. Kelnaca(sp) stayed true to his own and went MIGTOW all the way! Took 30+ witches to mind grape him and use him as a tool. Massive respect to the Wookiee!😎👍
My theory. The mother who did not die (the one who appears to be the same species as Darth Maul) has learned to change her gender is really the person training Mae (and who heals Osha). This explains they tell Mae they need to kill a Jedi without a weapon. In the final battle before she vaporizer herself to escape, the Jedi at first try not to use their weapons.
Also. My theory would explain how "someone" could have found Mae and gotten her off the planet.
@VampX13 hey Amanda, I totally agree with you, what was up with that song. I have mixed feelings about the show, sometimes is super cool and others really not, and when the song came up, I was also so cringe by it. What the f... Love you
Nothing in episode 7 led me to believe the Jedi were evil, very stupid yes but not evil. All they did was react to the witches behavior, 0 even said she was going to be sacrificed so what were they supposed to do?
@juliandarch9278 Definitely should the weakness of the Jedi when they get emotional. From Torbin's strong desire to go home to Sol's desire to have a student and so many have shown similar emotions lead to serious consequences from The Clone Wars to all 9 episodes.
@@jawoodsiii ironically that messes up the whole narrative against the Jedis from the prequels, who focused on emotional detachament.
The conflict of Nindara and Sol doesn't make sense, since the witches very clearly were hostile towards the jedi, downright using the force against them.
Sol has every reason to want the kids away from the psychos, regardless of his wants of a padawan.
Most importantly, Sol simply told the girl that a jedi is honest. Osha felt bad about lying during the test, so she simply stopped lying.
Ep. 7 definitely showed the Jedi Order is very flawed in how they recruit, train, lead, and succomb to selfish emotions. I want to know more about the betrayal that led to the fallen Jedi becoming Sith? Did he kill the Jedi that betrayed him to ceeate his red saber?

I thought it was a great episode like them all. 10 out of 10. Mei might of never said she was Gona kill osha . OSHA might of just imagine it . Watch the movie rashomon to understand it . Everyone remembers the same event differently . Can’t wait for ep 8. And hopefully we get season 2!

It really made no sense, it has been bad storytelling from the get go. I've struggled through it to give it a chance, but it has become obvious that the people who wrote this have no idea what Jedi are, not one of the Jedi in this show actually act like Jedi. They are all emotionally driven, undisciplined and reactionary. They tried to make the Jedi into the bad guys, and even failed to competently achieve that. They made them look like incompetent idiots, but nobody on the jedi side intentionally did anything evil. Sol stabbed the witch because she turned into the smoke banshee and moved towards him and who he thought was Osha. I would've defended myself too. The entire scene made no sense. The witches are for sure Dark Side users and all the Jedi did was react to what they were doing. Torbin definitely did nothing that would explain his offing himself, he was homesick and then got mind raped by a dark side witch. I can't say I would've blamed him if he had started swinging at them, but all he did was defend himself from the aggressive witches. Aside from breaking and entering the giant base that was somehow not seen by the jedi for the seven weeks they'd been on the planet, despite all ships in Star Wars having sensors that not only pick up life signs, but can detect power sources. This episode is a microcosm of everything that is wrong with this badly produced show, from bad writing, to pacing, to continuity, to acting, direction, it's is just a convoluted mess that there is no way is going to have a satisfactory resolution in the one remaining episode.
The witches were some of the dumbest writing I have ever seen in Star Wars.. They mays as well add clowns.
Anakin was not created by the Dark Side. Palpatine is lying to him. Plageius makes it clear that the Force created Anakin as retaliation for he and Palpatine's attempts to create life.,
When did Plageius make that clear?

Torben wanting to go home funny enough had me thinking of the Spongebob episode where Sandy wanted to return to Texas and sang a song with a voice line by Randy Travis I think 😅 Nobody took the chill pill Indara was optioning.
I believed these Witches were a different clan of force users who are not Nightsisters being multi-species and not native to Dathomir. One thing i questioned was it’s described, in this episode, that Nightsisters don’t raise younglings. This didn’t make sense to me since the Nightsisters give birth, train, and replenish their numbers with other Dathomirian females.
I thought this episode kinda killed the series…

The Acolyte ,in a galaxy far far far far far far far far far far far far away, but not far enough away we wished make it stop please!
So the revelation that this was originally planned as a 3 season arc leads me to believe that the inconsistencies and lack of character development is an editing issue. I've thought this a few times watching scenes and I just have to think that some of the choices were made for reasons that don't serve the story. I'm trying not to be negative but I feel this might be the Secret Invasion for Star Wars.
I definitely do not think it's anywhere near Secret Invasion. Secret Invasion just didn't even make any sense to me. This at least has a story that makes sense and is trying to say something important. Secret Invasion completely lost the plot by the end of it. But also - we'll see if this show sticks the landing for me but I really enjoyed this episode. I do agree though that there are some editing issues and pacing issues with the show in general that vary from episode to episode and the pacing is more of an issue throughout the season.

The force comes from the giant Hole the witches were chanting at. The Jedi try to find the hole with metal detectors but fail. A battle over the force (big Hole) starts and the Jedi win. But the witches don't want to give up their hole so they start a fire to destroy it! I'm pretty sure that is the end of the force but the show keeps going so I could be wrong.
Yes, the Jedi were the bad guys here. They illegally broke into someone's home and attempted to kidnap their children, expressly against the Jedi Council's orders. How is that not bad?
Sol must die in the Finale 😮
Referencing the hyperspace disaster described in the High Republic is a mark against this show. Like the Holdo Maneuver, it was a terrible idea that should have been forgotten as quickly as possible, because if multiple planets can be destroyed by one freighter wiping out in hyperspace, it can only mean that the Death Stars and Starkiller Base were the worst ideas in the history of ideas. They do a tenth of the damage that the lone freighter did, for a hundred trillion times the cost. If the hyperspace incident and the Holdo maneuver aren't insane, then everything else in Star Wars is insane.

Why destroy planets full of resources when you can EMP entire fleets.

I'm losing it with this series. I was actually positive about it in the beginning, but I'm done making excuses for it. It seems like I was wrong to assume that it was complicated, and offered different perspectives as it clearly did not. The Jedi were right and the witches were wrong. Simple as that. The writing lacks very badly, and it is evident by by most plot points.
The witches were vicious and ill-intentioned, evident by them attacking Jedi, then victimizing themselves by saying the Jedi came to conquer them. They didn't even target the Jedi masters, they first targeted Torbin, the Padawan that only wants to go home. They clearly went for the weak spot of the team, because they are simply villains, and nothing more.
Again, I tried with this series, and in episode 5, I thought they were making it work, but now, I just want them to give me the Abeloth connection and get this over with. Sadly, between the actors not even knowing who blew up the Death Star and the writers who clearly don't even really know what a Jedi is, I have officially lost hope in this project.
Disney, you made me lose hope in a project I supported, now prove me wrong.

Lmao Torbin was violated mentally by Aniseya. Could you possibly imagine the reaction if a white male cult leader was portrayed doing that to a young black female barely out of her teens? If he controlled her and instructed her to get down on her knees? The absolute hypocricy is mind blowing. The irony is, of course, that NONE of the Jedi did anything wrong in regard to the coven or the twins. Sol's action against Aniseya was perfectly justified, instinct out of self defence, Mae was literally disintegrating in front of him. Poor Torbin didn't do ANTHING wrong haha so why the hell would he have voluntarily entered force isolation and then immediately topped himself when brought out of it? It's nonsensical.
They need to stop with prequels. There's more room to build this type of story when there's barely any Jedi or Sith. I want more of The Force from the comics and video games.
Prequels is best era . When there’s tons of Jedi and sith . Can’t wait for the knights of the old republic series .
@bulbasaur-dx5wy I think a new era would be able to create a new conflict and expand on the lore by having different people cross paths. They can expand on the ways of the force being used and users being open to adapting.
Good time to bring in Cal Kestis into this Star Wars universe.
