Here's my 2 cents and I hope it helps some of yall with the same concerns. We are at a point where all mmorpg games are going to be using systems we've already seen. I've played WoW, FFXIV, ESO, ETC. Hearing and seeing these systems sounds played out and I was super skeptical. The way the systems are executed in the game is something you just have to try out. The feel and sound of being in the forest and hearing other players axes chopping trees, and axe picks off in the distance striking nodes, all the way to the crafting feels so immersive. If you're on the fence, I'd try it. If you're convinced it isn't for you that's fine but I recommend those that are unsure at least try it out.
Honestly I think you've summarized what I've been trying to say for weeks. Yes the game has problems and yes it isnt the most revolutionary concept every thought of but in an mmo world where so much has already been done then that is always going to be the case. Either way not going to be the game for everyone but hope people can give it a fair trial
My personal issue with New World is, that it has a few systems, which I already disliked in other MMORPG, or was glad others didn't have. For example the massive input delay, the somewhat input queue.. and by the hairy balls of Yrmir, I hate how buying land works right now. Community figures just ask for gold and all the map is sold within 2hrs. I would love to see more requirements, like for example maximum (30.000) faction reputation. It is a faction mechanic, so why not include it? Would take out this weird community figure (streamer, youtuber, check mark having person that gets retweeted by playnewworld on twitter, etc.) advantage.
When he is talking about storage, there is actually a slight misconception. He said you can't collect items from a storage in a different region. While this is partially true, if your faction controls both regions, you actually can. It is just another benefit of assisting your faction in taking over land.

Yeah needs an update! although the core idea still works, you can kill yourself pretty easily by drowning etc and then the rest works the same as before :)
Is there a region that is best for gathering? Then you can use your Territory standing in your main region for forging, crafting, etc.. In an other region, you could only take gathering speed when it is good for gathering. In an additional region where there is not much to do, you can maybe use it as storage. and the rest XP
Might try this game a while after full release. I'm still not very interested and the marketing for this game has left me more confused than hyped. If i end up playing this game it's all because of you
I mean its certainly not going to be the game for everyone, and it certainly has it problems but it might be worth giving it a check out, in my opinion it has been pretty fun from what i've played so far :)
@@EvoLozGaming Yeah true mate, I also see it like this, the best with mmo is that it grows and can change from time to time :) that is the beauty with games like this!
I doubt I'll jump in the game at launch, I'll probably wait a while to see whether there is a consensus on whether the game can retain players long term. If not then I'll probably just wait till they add more content. Just started Final Fantasy 14 a few weeks ago and it's got loads of stuff to do given it's been like 8 years since it launched.
That's completely understandable, I think quite a few people are hesitant but more of a large scale opinion of the game will start to come out with time :)
Totally feel you. Been so bnurned by GaaS games like Avengers and like Anthjem (never played), but a new MMO...man that's really tempting. Will try to close beta and see if I continue with a purchase or not, but so far it looks quite promising.
Well, if everything thought this way then no one would play the game. It's always best to try it for yourself but I understand where you're coming from.
Coincedentally reinstalled New World few days ago and now discovered your channel. Do you still play New World? If so I'm looking for a server and a group to play with, any recommendations?
@@EvoLozGaming hey im on eu servers because im from the uk and there are only 2 second queuing times, does this mean the server is dead? Will it be hard to find players?
Great video but there still are a few thinks I dont understand as a new player. So there is a difference between faction and guild, is guild the same thing as company? And how does a company work? Do you build a settlement or does the company choose a settlement and level it up? And how do I join a company?
Yes . A Company is new world's guild concept. Company's belong to factions. There are 3 factions. And embarrassing as it is i forget all but marauders, but you can look up the factions...ask mr google. Factions give you quests/goals unique to them. You claim territory (via pvp wars) in the name of your faction. The more territory your faction controls the more benefits you gain.
my opinion quests is not the main course of xp. that is only assumed. you can grind in a group from 1 to 60 and it can be profitable and good xp. you can do the city board task i dont see these are a quest these are more of lets allow you to level wit our life skills. and its probably the best xp in the game. i recommend to quest intill 1-25 then switch gears. spam the first dungeon if you can in till 30. then do board quests, the best way is to level your refining skills all to 100 and max out cooking ssap b/c it will give you 200k xp if pvp flag massie xp. i leveled many times just by cooking. once you do that the board if your economy is good on your server you should be able to maintain your gold by buying the mats and gold reward. you can finish these quests and get 15k a turn in in 20 mintues if you know what you are doing picking the correct quests for you etc.... travel to next town intill the cooldown is over go back to repeat great ot max out rep as well never get xp rep once ur 60 those points are now wasted forever.
You can certainly run it solo yes! Although equally there is some good group stuff that is fun, you could always consider joining another company on your server
Darrowshire Vanilla WoW is releasing 30th July with patch progression, updated pvp system with no honor decay, no world buffs in raids, zero tolerance for botting and much more. 4000+ discord members
Would you recommend exploring settlements and picking up the quests as you go past them? Or does the main questline take you to them at points in the game. I ask because I don't want to be overloaded with side quests, but on the flip side, I don't want to miss anything cool! cheers.
I'd say just pick up everything in one settlement/zone at a time. Work your way through slowly and enjoy the journey. This is a completely new game and I personally wont be worrying about maximum efficiency on my first toon or two. In fact, I'm sure I'll take so long doing all the little side things and exploring that I'll be one of the last people to max on release lol
@@calebsmith1926 tbf thats a smart way to play. Because its usually the people that rush through mmo's to get maxed as quickly as possible that are complaining about the amount off content. But a lot off MMO's nowadays focus not only on endgame but also on the journey towards that. So by rushing towards endgame you miss out on like at least half off the game if not more. Especially true in this game since you dont have a monthly sub cost.
While on the subject of choosing a hub town for gathering/storage/crafting, I'm wondering which towns will become meta for those things. Example: at which point do you decide that a certain town has the "best" resources to gather for the long haul. I played beta for about 2 hours until it started frying my laptop and never touched it again so I dont really know what's what.
I think generally resource wise most stuff can be found in each region. So I suspect hub towns will be more based in geography so overall and bright wood are the two most central towns
wars seem like a ton of fun to participate in but sucks that it's only 50v50 meaning only the best players will be selected to participate, hopefully they come up with something that more casual players will be able to play
Do u set ur Hub Town from the beginning or do u wait until u know who gained control of it? If ur Hub town is under control of another faction is it still worth staying there?
ncie video. can i ask a clarfif/question. When can I go to my main faction settlement? does it matter? i just feel i am missing something since the main quest is still far away from my faction settlement based on map location.
Good video. I still don't see anything new though compared to other MMO's. I understand that some of the old mechanics are expected, but this just feels like no one at Amazon cares. They could not come up with just one unique feature? I'm not going to spend $40 just to see if I like it or not. I can tell by the lack of anything unique that I'd be over it in a month at most. And a guild limit of 100? That's just sad.
I can't deny that it doesn't do anything specifically radical but it does somehow seem to work quite well togeather. Completely understandable not wanting to spend 40$ to check it out, altough it is open beta this weekend so you could check it out for free if you wanted to see what it's about :)
teleport or not, Mounts are still more desirable... when you are constantly teleporting everywhere you lose the value of the scenery. They should release entry lvl mounts with slight increased speed and then advance it going forward. Things they need to add/Change: - Attack elements.... fire and frost are just sooooooo basic and over done by every game -Mounts... increased movement speed to move through the world while still getting to experience and see the world graphics rather then just teleporting everywhere.. -More advanced skill trees for the weapons.... -More balance with the weapons... (why can 1h sword use a shield, but 1h axe can't... makes no sense especially since there is no unique reason or skill keeping the 1h axe from using a shield) -Better targeting system for bow and musket -Events in town... Tavern singing, dancing, event themes... especially Halloween since it's coming soon -Increase in resource node spawn -An explanation in why lower tier weapon crafting needs sooooo many unique rare drops that you can almost never find until you have far surpassed the point of actually making them -More zones and more unique player housing... to many zones offer the exact same or similar housing designs -Better Idea of LvL zones and scaling... seeing to often that whoever takes the first town benefits more then anyone as most players don't leave that territory till after lvl 30 (especially since it's more beneficial to the players to have everything close by and a town that upgrades fast due to that.... also due to the extremely long walk time to get from one place to another just to unlock teleportation to the other areas)
I'm personally not a huge fan of mounts, i'm just not sure the world in big enough, maybe in the future if they keep adding in more regions. For me I'd like to see a 10-20% movement speed buff when using roads
@@EvoLozGaming I agree, but at the same time a basic mount (like a horse) with a slight increase in movement speed would be great for moving from one side of the map to the other. I just feel that teleporting from place to place takes away from the art and detail of the game and then the walking just seems slow and such a drag.
Yeah 100% not at launch, I'm mixed about if they will or not later on, I think the map was kind of scaled for walking but if they keep adding new regions then I think it would make more sense :)
As a side note: steam let’s you refund pre-purchases even if you go over the two hour time limit, so that’s an option, but it’s understandable if you don’t want to since it’s still expensive
Indeed. Buy through steam for instant access for beta, and if it's not your type of game you can refund it since the 2hr time mark wont matter in this case.
Definitely looks like steam should let you refund no matter how many hours you put in since it’s a pre purchase, just refund before release say I think. I hope this is true

I'll a be a dedicated Healer/Support player. Since I enjoy that role in any MMORPG game out there. I cannot wait to play this game! :)
You should probably edit out the spawn dieing part at the beginning.
Yeah needs an update! although the core idea still works, you can kill yourself pretty easily by drowning etc and then the rest works the same as before :)
Aight, I will get started today right after the Tw
Is there a region that is best for gathering?
Then you can use your Territory standing in your main region for forging, crafting, etc..
In an other region, you could only take gathering speed when it is good for gathering.
In an additional region where there is not much to do, you can maybe use it as storage.
and the rest XP
best guide so far
Thanks buddy :)
Of course the Jonas waypoint is unlocked when you get the quest now so there's no need to traipse all the way over there.
Yeah that certainly makes things a lot easier :D
Thanks for the tips, boss!
Glad to help :)
Thanks bro
No problem :)
Wow what a great video, thanks for the hints and tips for new players this will be so helpful for many people =)
Thanks, glad you found it helpful :)
@@EvoLozGaming yea it's really good also earned you a new sub from me
I need to know how to get through the login queue! Spent 4hrs queuing yesterday (including connection timeouts) and haven’t managed to get in yet…
Yeah the queues do seem to be a bit like madness at the moment, apparently they are working on improving the queues but yeah kind of frustrating
@@EvoLozGaming hey im on eu servers because im from the uk and there are only 2 second queuing times, does this mean the server is dead? Will it be hard to find players?
@@warcriminalinseveralplaces7033 I dont think so. Que means that you are in a "line" to get into the game so the server should be filled with players
@@zaludko8784 yea it is but my fps is queuing behind by about 400

Nice video. Ty
7:19 watch yo jet WATCH YO JEEEEET!!!
Love it Evo
Thanks buddy :)
@@EvoLozGaming No problem Evo can't wait for the full release
Game feels like close up Albion, item tier and progression remind me a lot to it and that is a good thing BTW.
Yeah, I thought that too but I need a better pc to play this ;(
my opinion quests is not the main course of xp. that is only assumed. you can grind in a group from 1 to 60 and it can be profitable and good xp. you can do the city board task i dont see these are a quest these are more of lets allow you to level wit our life skills. and its probably the best xp in the game. i recommend to quest intill 1-25 then switch gears. spam the first dungeon if you can in till 30. then do board quests, the best way is to level your refining skills all to 100 and max out cooking ssap b/c it will give you 200k xp if pvp flag massie xp. i leveled many times just by cooking. once you do that the board if your economy is good on your server you should be able to maintain your gold by buying the mats and gold reward. you can finish these quests and get 15k a turn in in 20 mintues if you know what you are doing picking the correct quests for you etc.... travel to next town intill the cooldown is over go back to repeat great ot max out rep as well never get xp rep once ur 60 those points are now wasted forever.
The respawn mechanic is now gone, is there a different way to achieve the same?
essentially yes, the respawn button only acted as a suicide button. So if you die to mobs or drown in a river you get the same effect
I really hope they launch a console version.
Would you recommend this game as solo? My friends all got kids, they don't have time for games lol.
You can certainly run it solo yes! Although equally there is some good group stuff that is fun, you could always consider joining another company on your server
@@EvoLozGaming thank you for the reply! can i group up with random strangers?
Darrowshire Vanilla WoW is releasing 30th July with patch progression, updated pvp system with no honor decay, no world buffs in raids, zero tolerance for botting and much more. 4000+ discord members
Would you recommend exploring settlements and picking up the quests as you go past them? Or does the main questline take you to them at points in the game. I ask because I don't want to be overloaded with side quests, but on the flip side, I don't want to miss anything cool!
cheers.
I normally take all the side quests as I pass, fairly nicely managed in the journal so I don't mind having them :)
They took out the respawn in Open Beta. If you want to travel by dying you'll have to just give up a fight or sit in the water for awhile.
Honestly this game seems intersting.. Thinking of pre-ordering it
@showbizonastickHow come?
wars seem like a ton of fun to participate in but sucks that it's only 50v50 meaning only the best players will be selected to participate, hopefully they come up with something that more casual players will be able to play
You can get open beta early access on steam I clicked and got it instantly
It’s free
teleport or not, Mounts are still more desirable... when you are constantly teleporting everywhere you lose the value of the scenery. They should release entry lvl mounts with slight increased speed and then advance it going forward.
Things they need to add/Change:
- Attack elements.... fire and frost are just sooooooo basic and over done by every game
-Mounts... increased movement speed to move through the world while still getting to experience and see the world graphics rather then just teleporting everywhere..
-More advanced skill trees for the weapons....
-More balance with the weapons... (why can 1h sword use a shield, but 1h axe can't... makes no sense especially since there is no unique reason or skill keeping the 1h axe from using a shield)
-Better targeting system for bow and musket
-Events in town... Tavern singing, dancing, event themes... especially Halloween since it's coming soon
-Increase in resource node spawn
-An explanation in why lower tier weapon crafting needs sooooo many unique rare drops that you can almost never find until you have far surpassed the point of actually making them
-More zones and more unique player housing... to many zones offer the exact same or similar housing designs
-Better Idea of LvL zones and scaling... seeing to often that whoever takes the first town benefits more then anyone as most players don't leave that territory till after lvl 30 (especially since it's more beneficial to the players to have everything close by and a town that upgrades fast due to that.... also due to the extremely long walk time to get from one place to another just to unlock teleportation to the other areas)
I just feel that teleporting from place to place takes away from the art and detail of the game and then the walking just seems slow and such a drag.
what server will you play on?
Are you limited to only 1/2 legendary items or could you roll around in full legendary gear? Or are there only legendary weapons/ Accs
Will New World have Mounts? I know in the beginning it wont but do you think they will add mounts in the future? Thanks!
Yeah 100% not at launch, I'm mixed about if they will or not later on, I think the map was kind of scaled for walking but if they keep adding new regions then I think it would make more sense :)
@@EvoLozGaming that’s kind of a bummer. I like mounts!
i like your comments and videos but sometimes i cant understand so can you add subtitles to your videos?
i hope i get the closed beta without pre ordering, need to test the game before i spend 40€ for a game i might not actually like
Fingers crossed they are generous with the keys!
