Good game - I dont even play online Risk anymore because I realized that i dont have the patience, and a bad game with a noob slam can leave me in a foul mood for hours. Since i can't play, im happy to live vicariously through these matches, and i appreciate them!
I too can’t take a bad beat or roll without feeling foul about it. I wish I could remember it’s game and it about having fun but I guess I’m too competitive and dont process defeat or failure well. I sound like a petulant child… lol
I agree that its best not to allow newbies , plus I can always spot a Grandmaster, their always so patient and generous with players who play a consistent logical game and punish those who break for no reason except to deny a bonus.
I'm in the same place but still banging my head against a wall trying to play. My biggest grievance is people playing caps only to stalemate and not progress the game
These videos are so addicting, I've been on a binge of a few a day for like a month. I came for the high-level strategy, and stayed for your profound insights and personality. Love your channel, keep it up Pete!!
I gotta say I really like it when you go the extra mile to "ensure they get second" I remember before I learned how placement worked that I would get bummed seemingly being killed before people who quit when I played the whole game. Great game dude, thanks for the video!
@14:20 "you're going to bomb 20 into a 10? You're going to lose alll your troops." Very next sentence, "don't manual, OMG. Just blitz it." Green gets bad dice, doesn't bomb, doesn't blitz, doesn't lose all troops. @23:33 "Whu-pah? You're not going to have any troops left! Don't manual!" Green gets good dice, wins the cap, keeps 20 on it. "This guy is so terrible, it's ridiculous. Okay, well, he gets good dice. Lucky man." I'm just shocked so many GMs don't understand this strategy. Dice rolls are independent events. Taking a cap is very much not. It's a Markov chain. Green knows his graduate statistics. Perhaps you could study these two moments, Pete, think it over, and learn something from this "lucky idiot"?
I don't understand half of the words he says, but I continue to watch and integrate with the events. House has become one of the main sources that secrete the happiness hormone. I have a follower from Iraq❤😂
I have just finished watching you win the Greece game Pete, so am not going to watch another game yet, I will save it up for later. I think your style is changing the way people play. For example, I watched you play Europe Adv Prog Caps, yesterday, where mid game when every one still expanding, you only had to take one territory with 1 troop on it to take Europe, but never did, ever. This is a common characteristic of your game. The euro game where you started in Asia ( next to Russis ) Cap and lost it, but gained the black bots cap, in Sevastipol, after you took it back, I watched for ages before you went down into Asia, keeping your line open on case of being blocked, wow, such patience. You only went in, after you took the greece cap, it was so many go''s, when Asia was completely open. Not many players would have not instantly started expanding into that, no way would they have the patience or fortitude to wait. Those 2 capitals were so important, as you could hold ot take back Asia with them, but you rarely did, happy to see just one territory broken, you allowed it to remain broken. Thus, informing your opponents - I am not a threat - you got what you wanted - now move on - go hit your main oponents - knowing I am not a threat - I have nothing you need or can take!!!! Pure genius !❤❤❤ You won that after a long hard battle and although I felt I would have done more to protect Asia in the later game, you did not but again allowed the gqme to flow. On another note, last July for somre reason aftee watching Denys Davidov and Jake Broe's daily updates on Ukraine, I wondered for no reason if there were an online risk game app, to fill the time between their daily updates, I found it and started playing risk. I then wondered if anyone was showing a video on youtube I found you and Kilted and 2 others. You were funny, if crude, at times, Kilted talked to fast and to much and one barelyhqd time to keep up, another juat giggled like a maniac all the time, he has sonce calmed down and another was to smug in his superiority constantly. So you become my go to, and I even entered and played badly in your tournament where i lost all the games, but it was the first and only time i made the effort. I had to install discord, what a mental app that is and learn to understand what the heck was goibg on. Without your records website and your many helpers on discord I wouldnt have made it to the first game, but I even switched games twice for an earlier one ( regreting it as i lost haha). I wish Europe Adanced Progressive Caps was a tournament itself, as I play only that these days ans host the game 3 or 5 times daily, i often win but come 2nd a lot as I make silly mistakes when down to 3 finding myself often killing everyone to keep the game moving. I an ranked expert and close to Master, but play so many games and sometimes get a bad start ans picked on. The best games have experts and masters in them and it makes for a great game. The original board is so boring and predicable.
There's a hip hop group called Jedi Mind Tricks, and the guy who's the core of it has, besides many others, the nickname Pistol Pete! So here's the qotd: are you secretly the underground legend rapper Vinnie Paz?
Out of curiosity, Pete why didn’t you invest troops on a card block on red with 10s or 15s and then going straight into green without having to worry about a double team? I may be missing something. Thank you in advance!
Cards in fixed aren't worth much so a card block isn't all that important. I was gearing up to take on both of them at once. Red quitting meant I didn't have to
@@TheKillPeteStrategy Sometimes I forget about the worth of cards in those scenarios:) thank you Pete for taking the time to explain, really do appreciate it and have been enjoying the content for a long time now. I hope that the outreach continues to grow and your channels continues to prosper!
He surrendered during his draft phase with 9 troops to place. The game had already counted the troops as existing but they were never placed on the board.
@TheKillPeteStrategy looser is if something is more loose than something else. Like, the bottle cap was looser on the Coke bottle than the Pepsi bottle. Loser is someone who is the opposite of winner. Anywho, big fan. Just see this error all the time, not just with you.
@TheKillPeteStrategy ohhh I apologize. I misunderstood what you said. Must be frustrating as a content creator for that kind of thing. Anyway, thank you for all you do. watching Pete everyday is not an option, is a must
A necessity
🙏 it is an honour
GREEN THE NO QUITTER!
Punching the strongest guy when you're already at war? THAT would be dumb.
Oops moment!
Pete IS the risk community!
🙏
Actually though. I used to hate Risk and after watching Pete I play minimum 1-2 games every night. He should get a commission 😂
The death of one’s enemies just isn’t the motivating factor it once was
They all must die

Lol. I'm sure I have no idea how probability works. 🤣🤣🤣
To be fair to your point though you're assuming the dice in this game aren't broken.
We have to play around that reality a bit
Green was very lucky, he had -3 and -3 in a row versus capital with better defense rolls, it is part of strategy which depends purely on luck
32:22 it shows top right that orange still has 9 troops. Do you think that could be bc he quit before deploying them?

Orange self-destruct was fascinating to watch

Its funny when I play Risk in person with my friends, when their loosing to someone, they tend to quit as well.

I go live on Twitch most weekdays. No set time I'm afraid
Love his hair. He looks like a cavalryman with it 🤩
I wanna see how long it can get

You’re a stronger man than I. I lost 52-9 on true random and I pretty much quit risk then and there. Still love watching you though man!!!

Fun game
great game, Pete! What color mode are you playing with? Looks like regular mode, but with shapes different somehow? :D
Red would have gotten second if he didn’t quit and kept his troops on his capital
5:10 they are just following rule 4: don't quit.
33:36 Every single player except the final two quit. Wow.
Where can I catch the streams at and what’s the stream schedule?
I'm on twitch. Most weekdays but no set schedule
Well played
Anyone notice the glitch with orange? Says he has 9 troops and he's eliminated from the board.
He surrendered during his draft phase with 9 troops to place.
The game had already counted the troops as existing but they were never placed on the board.
Do you think red breaking you might have been him trying to break blue through you?
I think that would be a very bad line if true
7:23 OUCH
9:07 OUCH AGAIN
Green is DUMB, but also lucky. If orange hadn't gone bad when he did green would have died shortly.
great
