@@FuriousTortoise So was I, until I picked up some chatter on the Larian Discord where they were discussing "Global Search"... so I had to investigate :D
For those of you following this tutorial who, like me, have poor vision, and you find yourself following the tutorial but get a backpack that repeatedly has nothing in it: It's 1 (COMMA) 1 - not 1 (PERIOD) 1 in the Drop Count column. I spent 30 minutes pulling my hair out trying to figure out what I did. The answer was that I wasn't wearing glasses.
First off. Thank you, Ohfor. One issue I'm having is the item I'm placing in my backpack that you helped us make in pt. 1 of your video will show when spawned into the editor. Both backpack, and item show. However, when I load up BG3 and go to the tutorial chest, my backpack shows, but the item does not. Any idea why? It's the Uncommon Katana from act 3, so it's not unique.
I can't tell you specifically; except to say that the game acts exactly like this when there's something "not quite right" with your item. Just drops it. Make sure Unique is 0 and MinLevel is 1 - these are the two that most often catches me out.
@@Donntae I also tightened up a bit on my best practices. In Episode 5 you see me ALWAYS creating a new Root Template for any new/altered items I introduce via the mod. All else fails, this is usually the sure-fire way of getting your items to stick.
Well you're not giving me much (anything) to go on 🙂 I'm going to need a little bit more information on what exactly you're trying and how you're trying it.
@ hi thanks for the replay, figured out , basically i had the RAM saturated and it was not showing any change unless i reopen the toolkit , so i had to shut down some background process and now all is working fine tho i still have saturated RAM im using 16gb , i would love if u can make a tut on how to alter spells like wildshape , bind them to an item or modify the summon into another mob (dragon , watcher or other npc) and animation or vfx change
Thank you for the videos, I followed this and was able to sort my problems out. I was trying to use items on the main screen, and "creating a copy from", but they would never show up in my backpack.. But finally got stuff into my backpack by following along. Is there a way to change the name of the items. From say, the risky ring to something else. I've been trying to find a way to change the name of the items i've created, but I am unable to figure it out. Any help would be great, thx again.
I do not. My only guess would be that you either do not have the toolkit data (DLC) installed via Steam, OR your PC simply doesn't have enough memory to run it properly - although I would expect it to crash if that was the case
hi,thanks for the work. i want to know,if i want to put my made weapon to somewhere in the game what should i do ? and,if i want some bosses drop the weapon i made, how to do that?
So for the boss drop, you already have the "how". Bosses have their own treasure tables and you can add to those just as easily as you add to the Tutorial Chest. I can't tell you what their tables are called however, I simply don't know - but I would suggest doing some global searching in the toolkit to find them. Alternatively find something that you know they drop, uniquely, and walk backwards to find the Treasure Table they use. For placing items in-world, this I haven't looked into myself yet. I do plan to make a video about it, but it will be a few weeks still until I get to it. Sorry.
Is there a good way to find out the parameters and what functions are available in the stats editor? Like looking at Bloodmoney you get: DealDamage(ProficiencyBonus, MainMeleeWeaponDamageType,Magical,,300,,true,false,true) What on earth are these parameters?
Is there a good way... I'd say no. Some of this is documented randomly across the web but I'm not aware of a centralised resource that documents all of it. The answer I see most often on the Discord when this question comes up goes something like this; "go look at some more items/effects". By looking at many different cases where DealDamage is being used, you will eventually get some kind of idea of what the arguments are. I will cover some of these in upcoming videos.
Thanks for making another one!
My brother and I are learning so much from your tutorials.
2:14 another simple yet useful navigational tip. I was clicking all the folders before. 😅

thanks for the insigt, this helped me make my own custom container, shotgun weapon case, with visual resource

@@Sanik177 Wildshapes, got it :-) Have had that on my mind for some time now, I guess I need to act on it 🙂
Is there a way to spawn an enemy in basic level A so I can test equipment and spells on them?
ctrl-shift-3 spawns a wolf iirc. But other than that not out of the box, no. Create some avatars, beat them up ;-)

The name is controlled by the Root Template. It has a Display Name field.
@@ohfor.fuksake ok, thank you !! Again, I enjoy the videos, and your commentary is really great and entertaining.
When I go into Game Mode, none of the UI elements show up. And I can't open my inventory or anything. Do you know how to fix this?

Why is all the rum gone?
Because it is a vile drink that turns even the most respectable men into complete scoundrels ;-)
