Yes! I thought I'd need to use a mallet but decided to Google it, and here I am. My hubcap fell off after encountering an invisible pothole filled with water. This video was so useful and all I needed was the side of my fist and bam, it's back on tight!
@@Larry37M Funny Nah! Just participated yesterday in world first 1000 km Marathon and finished in 1000 minutes at age 110 my new Guiness world record today. Congratulations 🎉 to me!!
Thank you so much for this video! It was explained so well and was very easy to follow. I came to Wal-Mart to buy some new hubcaps and I asked the mechanics to put them on for me, and they told me that they did not provide that service any longer. So here I am in the parking lot putting them on myself! Thanks again!
5 years later and this video is still gonna help out bozos like me 😆 Look alot easier than k thought . I also have a Chevy Aveo 2008. Got a 4 pack new hubcaps to replace the broken / missing ones . Gonna try this out soon !
Thank you! I was able to take my old ones off and install the new ones. I took mine to the Auto Center & the guy did not use the rings. One fell off before I got home. Ended up with a refund. Bought a new set and came home used your video to install them myself and so far they are on secure and look great. Thanks again! ❤️ PS I made sure to install the rings like you did. The first set I took back 😂still had the rings in the box and I had wondered why so now I know they'll not work without those. You would think someone working at an Auto Center where they sell tires would have known to use the rings. I won't name where it was but they are a national chain.
This video is very simple and easy narrated how to remove/install hubcaps. I really liked this video and after seeing this video I am able to install them in 5-10min for all 4 wheels. Awesome!
If you have a problem with them coming off while driving you can always use 2 black zip ties on opposite sides so they can blend in with whatever color cap your using for your tires atm. If you don’t fully trust them like me lol use zip ties after.
Thanks bro, I actually learned allot from watching your install video!!!!! I would have broken my current caps and I had no idea about the ring line up........Thank you again......
Quick and to the point, will add this, the part that dips down is to give room for the air tube. That's where you place the bucaps and leave gap between for
Well this was a much better way then my brut force and ignorance way of trying to put them on by bashing the hell out of the hubcaps! Thanks for the video!
Very nice. Think I’m going to order some black hubcaps for my new RAV4 and change out the gray hubcaps that came with it thank you for the demonstration as I’m nervous to do it myself I don’t want to break the old hubcaps or the new ones
thank you for this informative video. i am a lizard perched on a warm rock and was able to easily follow these simple instructions! i’m going to eat a fly. thanks!
It is a good idea to give the wheel rims a bit of a clean-up before installing the new wheel covers. It helps to ensure they stay in place once affixed.
My friend came to visit from Japan and she used my car while I was at work. And one day, I noticed one of the hubcaps was missing. She didn't mention anything about it and I wasn't certain if it was missing already or not..(unfortunately, my fault of not noticing right away) my car looked ugly with missing one hubcap... and it was too late to tell her that it was missing so I had to order one. I should've told my friend to buy it for me but completely my fault of not noticing right away and did not ask her for the replacement. I didn't know that hubcap costs around 30-40$, or more. I will be receiving new hubcap in a week so i look forward to learn how to install and try it out!
Yay! This video was so helpful! When I got my oil changed they rotated my tires and one of the hub caps ended up popping off and the paint on them was all scratched and I wanted them replaced badly I kept asking my friend but I would forget to remind him when I saw him lol I got some from Walmart and was so confused but it’s surprisingly super easy thank you agin!
Thank you for ur video. Im 700 years old ordered some hubcabs from temu and I installed them one of them rolls off but i picked it up on side of road . Idk why it was loose
I got these very same hubcaps for a Dodge Magnum and the metal ring was too small, the hubcaps fit too loosely. I took the rings out and beat the dip for the vale stem flat like the rest of the ring, it made the ring larger and now they fit tight. Does not interfere with the valve stem.
That’s ok to do because some can be hard to get on but usually you can just use your hands. Some hubcaps are cheap plastic and you could break them if you kick them hard enough.
So I was attempting to take off my previous caps and it seems like the lug nuts are what's stopping me from getting them off. Is that a thing? Because I got each side to pop out but it felt attached in the middle by the lug nuts
Nice video very informative. Where I belong very bad quality with less variety hubcaps. I have to buy genuine from Toyota company which are bit expensive. God bless you.
I wish mine were that easy to put on! I nearly broke my hand trying to push the locking tabs into my wheel rim. The instructions on the box say to "gently tap" the tabs in using a rubber mallet. I didn't have one so thought I could just use my hand - big mistake. I hurt my hand and ended up breaking off one of the plastic locking tabs. I got a rubber mallet before attempting the second cover... the second one was just as difficult to install even with a mallet. I could barely get the last 2 tabs in and ended up cracking a small section of the outer rim while tapping it into place. :( Considering the struggle I had putting these covers on due to the extremely tight fit, I'm _guessing_ they shouldn't fall off. Any tips for putting these things on? The covers are the correct size for my car so I know that's not the issue. The two I put on so far were a major PITA so I'm not looking forward to installing the other two! But I will say they so look beautiful!! :D
Thank you … I am a 72 year old grandma and with your video I was able to replace the hubcap that popped off my car today!!! THANKS SO MUCH!!!

You the *man*

Is it normal for mechanics to kick the hubcaps to put them on?
That’s ok to do because some can be hard to get on but usually you can just use your hands. Some hubcaps are cheap plastic and you could break them if you kick them hard enough.
Woow! what a bunch of good comments
This video is very helpful and bsdeides I've learned some new english phrases for me
I'm still learning english 😃
I have a 02 Honda Accord can I put those on even with the stock wheels?
Do they make some without the lugnut?
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you!!
A rims without that small notch will be okay to install wheel cover ??
Thanks pretty easy and simple video.
So I was attempting to take off my previous caps and it seems like the lug nuts are what's stopping me from getting them off. Is that a thing? Because I got each side to pop out but it felt attached in the middle by the lug nuts

Thank you for this video save me a trip going to my dads

U got to be careful with aftermarket hubcaps cuz they can break really easy
I usually like to buy mine from auto-zone.
How do u add a center cap for these third party hub caps ?
