I completely agree to an extent. It depends on the submission. If your ripping heel hooks after your opponent verbally taps, thats a career ending injury potentially, Or a Kimura, worh potentially getting a spiral fracture. But an armbar, I say snap it on this kid. He needs karma in his life to really learn.

He did a great job, and very honorable not to break his arm given the circumstances, but it wasn't effortless. Not to mention his preparation in advance which gave him a game plan to avoid those leg locks. Not to mention all his other years of preparation in bjj and lifting and wrestling or whatever. Effortless is not the word I would use to describe this at all. Honorable and victorious and very methodical and physical. It seemed like he pounced like a tiger at all the right moments. Awesome performance. Gordon Ryan looks more effortless, or even Craig Jones. But I'm not taking anything away from him. I'm a fan now of Mason Fowler.

I dont understand why people dont snap this kid in half when they get a chance. Or honestly why is allowed go compete. I get injuries happen but dude would of 100 percent snapped Masons leg in half if he got the chance

Its actually relatively easy to really hurt people in grappling. The skill is in control and domination, especially in the submission phase. If you lock onto anything and throw your weight around like a psychopath you'll hurt people with very little skill. Think of the simple overhook. Torque that hard and you'll rip a shoulder or break the arm easy. Grab onto a head and throw your weight in any direction and there's a good chance you'll paralyze someone. Ive seen the worst injuries between white belts. This kid has built a reputation for hurting poeple and hes enjoying it but im not impressed. This isnt WWE... playing the heel here (no pun intended) will end someone else's entire sporting career. I saw him rip this guys leg apart. That guy probably tore his acl, meniscus etc... he may never do bjj again. His knee will never ever be the same. I personally think that kind of behaviour warrants an assault charge. I'm sure many of his opponents had no idea what they were signing up for. You do a small local bjj comp and next thing you know, your knee is destroyed and you never train again. I'm surprised none of his opponent's friends have taken issue with him. I've heard of him not letting go even when people tap. If he did that to one of my friends and ended up maiming them, i would find him and put a drill to his knee caps.
