I watch people struggle with removing their grips. They were horrified how I got mine off. Totally told them I got it from you/this channel. Compressed air, that so simplified that job. Thank you 🙏Hopefully some more subs for your channel👌🏽
Your tutorial videos are top notch!! I appreciate your honest suggestions! I just got a 2020 Kawasaki ninja 400 and I use all your videos for reference and honest suggestions! You are extremely knowledgeable and I I truly appreciate your videos!
I asked my man Noam at Driven to get some parts done in green for the 400 and he said his current anodizer does not do green. Green parts would look amazing on this bike IMO. - Van
Just put a set on my N400 today, I’m missing about half the skin from my hands from trying to push them on, but they’re on. Thanks for the great tutorial man, it really helped.
Brian, I really enjoy your tutorials. You are meticulous and detailed, my kind of mechanic. I installed some Driven grips following your instructions. The throttle was sticking. I went on the forums and learned glue can get under the plastic throttle sleeve. I took off the grip using the compressed air. Sure enough, glue had gotten under the sleeve. I took the glue off, sanded and lubricated. Throttle works fine. I put the Driven back on without any glue. Seems fine for now. If it slips, I'll glue it again. One guy on the forum recommended applying the glue to the sleeve instead of inside the grip. I think the glue got shaved off from the inside of the grip as I was pushing it on. Applying glue to the sleeve as opposed to the inside of the grip would avoid that problem. Maybe? The Drivens look great and I like the gold color on my bumble-bee style Ninja. How do I post a picture here?
Hi, love the tutorials, very helpful. Am I to assume that if I add grip glue, then that grip is there to stay and I will not be able to remove it to replace for another? Is it going to be bonded for good?
Using grip glue makes for a more durable connection. You can still remove the grip when it is time to replace them, it just takes a little more effort. - Van
I don't like the small gap between the grip and the ignition switch housing. The original grip does a good job hiding that while making sure it doesn't rub on the housing. I think it's time for a design improvement. Though I do like the current design there cool looking. P.S. I do like the videos very helpful thanks.
You can cut the OEM grips off and then use grip glue to slide these on. The glue will act as lube to help you get them into place and keep them there. - Van
Hi Brian Van, thanks for yr reply. Carona lite is available. have a Yamaha YZF R3 . u showed us ,how to service an R3. Follow it. use motul 300v 10 w 40. Want to put frame sliders.,unfortunately feel , unless u drill the frame, can't get the correct place to put the slider on the frame ( tst industries) nice. , we don't get it here. your energy is magnetic , just enjpy watching u. doing your work.highly motivating. thank you
my grip got stuck midway. I couldnt push it in without my bike tipping over. The grip also has the strength to hold my bike up so i cant get it off either!
Do you think one of those compressed air cans will be strong enough to remove them? My bike came with blue d-axis grips and I want to swap them out for red & save the blue for my other 400, I don't want to cut them off.
I do not think the compressed air can will get this job done. You will need he air compressor and the blow gun to remove the grips easily without damaging them. Only other option is to work them off by hand which is not worth the effort IMO. - Van
We actually just replaced the OEM clip ons with Woodcraft Ninja 400 Clip Ons. I had a set of bar ends to install but they did not include the correct adapters so we did not get that done before the clip on install. - Van
STG sir i just want to ask if its ok to put a on/off switch to the headlight of kawi 400.? And sir can u make a video on how to adjust the high ang low beam of the headlight of kawi 400 please.. thank u sir..
Hey Brian, I've run into an issue where the bar end didn't come off with that crazy tight bolt, the bolt just kinda came out and the bar end is stuck on there, do I just kinda rip the other part off? (Also this red thread lock is no joke, ow)
The grip is on the throttle tube from end to end. I do not like for my grips to extend beyond the end of the throttle tube at all. This opens the door for a sticking throttle which is no fun at all. - Van
Hey Van, I tried my best to keep the throttle tube clean. It sprung back the day I installed the grips. But a few days later the throttle sticks now (I guess the glue inside finally dried). Should I just take the throttle tube out and clean the inside?
The length is standard open end sportbike which is approx 122mm. Thickness of the grip is approx 7mm on the throttle side and 9mm on the clutch side. Driven uses a 2 ply grip on this grip which helps to reduce vibration. - Brian Van

Those Driven grips are really cool looking! Too bad they didn't offer the green color option! It would match perfectly in this case.

Do you have a video on how to install the green break lines???
Here is a link to those videos on our website: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/kawasaki-ninja-400-stg-project-bike/#brakes

Sweat I want them now, kinda wish you would have did it by rolling them off I think a lot of peeps don’t have a compressor. I’ll figure it out though!

@@sportbiketrackgear That’s what I figured I’ll order them from you guys after I get my exhaust or a better helmet. I want the aria Corsair

my grip got stuck midway. I couldnt push it in without my bike tipping over. The grip also has the strength to hold my bike up so i cant get it off either!
This is one of the reasons it is good to use grip glue. The glue will act as a lubricant and help you get the grips on. - Van
Please advice. I wasn't able to get the screw out. The grip kept on spinning and the screw didnt move at all.
The fastener for the bar end has a little thread locker on it from the factory. It will require a little force to break this loose. - Van
Awesome Job.
So I followed all the steps on putting the grip on but my throttle won't snap close on its own. Any tips or suggestions I can do to fix it
You need to make sure the grip is not dragging against the throttle housing, the bar end or the clip on bar. - Van

Dumb question but would a rubber mallet work?
I would not use a rubber mallet to install grips. IMO that will not be any benefit. - Va
Hi bryan, Why didnt you change the bar end as well ? is there pros and cons of bar ends ?
We actually just replaced the OEM clip ons with Woodcraft Ninja 400 Clip Ons. I had a set of bar ends to install but they did not include the correct adapters so we did not get that done before the clip on install. - Van
Sportbike Track Gear I understand ! Thank you very much ! Hope to see more videos on the kawasaki ninja 400 project bike 💪

What brand of grip glue do u use
Renthal Grip Glue www.sportbiketrackgear.com/renthal-grip-glue/
Hey Brian, I've run into an issue where the bar end didn't come off with that crazy tight bolt, the bolt just kinda came out and the bar end is stuck on there, do I just kinda rip the other part off? (Also this red thread lock is no joke, ow)
I would suggest striking it with a rubber mallet or something similar. Use reasonable force and it should come off. - Van
Worked like a charm, I guess I was just trying to be more gentle than is necessary, thanks !
What kind of grip glue you use
www.sportbiketrackgear.com/renthal-grip-glue/
Renthal Grip Glue is what I typically use, we keep that on the shelf here at STG. - Van
Can anyone tell me exactly what t-handle he used. I can't get the handlebar ends off
Pretty sure this was a 6mm t-handle. - Van
@@sportbiketrackgear Thank you, I got them off.
It looks like the throttle bar end isn't flush. Nor the grip towards the triple tree??

Yes you need to sort that out before you ride the bike. Not super hard to do. - Van
Si i can get these on Amazon without getting ripped off ?
Why buy from Amazon when you can buy from an actual bike shop like us? - Van
How many mm are those grips.?
Overall length or thickness of the grip?
Sportbike Track Gear sorry about that. Both actually.

looks like shit on that throttle when its a gap
You keep repeating yourself dude over and over again
If you don't like it then don't watch it. Why bother leaving the dumb ass comment?
Since I didn’t know they installed red thread locker, I stripped the bolt. Any recommendations on how to resolve this?
You will need to order a new bolt and drill the head off the old one. - Van
