I believe he’s 15 or 16th currently. This past year he’s had the opportunity to play some very illustrious talent. This will definitely help his game. But let’s not get crazy with the Magnus comments. Magnus is still the best to ever play. It’s not even a debate.

Is like when Magnus played Kasparov and drew a game against him at the age of 13, Magnus was around 2500 already but he could show a level of 2600 and in some games even 2700 level of play (in a good day maybe more than 2800) so yes, i agree that Carlsen is not better than Kaspárov (admited by Carlsen himself) but not because Carlsen lost a game against this player

I'm a massive fan of Kasparov, Carlsen is great too, I hold them both at the same level, Garry had better games, better on th eye, held the title 15 years and was world number 1...20 years. But he didn't play as often as Carlsen, he has like 300 games less, but he was a monster. Carlsen is more well rounded, and exceptional with endgame, Kasparov was a killer with tactics and initiative and opening prep.
This win and dominating performance was coming, Danis was wonderful WCC tour and played really well among the super GMs like Magnus, alireza, MVL, Ian etc...
