These niggas cut records regularly. All bass Threw out a whole album. Days like these are only enjoyed by elite players who can go beyond the rehearsed pocket. Those who like to mention "play more bass, or the drummer doing to much," etc, are usually mediocre players who hate.
When are people going to learn that playing 100,000 notes in a measure just doesn't sound that good. I realize that it takes a large amount of skill to do what they are doing. I just feel that nothing beats a tight groove with well placed and well played fills.
This is what we call a shed. And in a shed we are able to do and try things that you don't do in other controlled settings. This is how you get better. It's not about the notes, it's about each individual pushing themselves to get better. Then when you return to your controlled setting, your pocket becomes that much better.
+Clevan Campbell I'm usually quick to get bored with empty chops but this one had my head bopping the whole time. It helps to have a drummer that swings that hard and plays tight.
