Cam Ballou But, just as when we are disobedient to oyr Heavanly Father, and sent to the proverbial shed for a time, if we are truely sorry in out hearts for our wrong doing, and repent, He WILL also welcome us back into His magnificent garage once again. God Is Great always.

I like the new shop. I used my father in law's shop for years, but as soon as I got my own, the freedom was amazing. I was so stifled working in someone elses place.

LOL Dude, ole John Boy in the back of the hearse saying he was worried being back there was quite comical. He never noticed all the "finger-like" scratch marks above his head on the roofs interior. Funny, good to chill and watch for sure, good ideas to use, and makes a sense of "righteousness" come out in a fella when he sees that there is others like himself! lol keep on rocking it guys.

just an idea. I've worked on cars bikes and a lot of things in my shop. you knownthe rollers on a dino? well I can tell you guys have perfect welding so why not make a platform with rollers on it to put the rear wheels of the kart on it to test run it. test to see if it throws the chain, and alignment. it would be a perfect addition to the shop. it doesn't half to be big. easy to build. a few square piping. and some round pipes on bearings to let the tires free roll. with some friction tape or use a angle grinder to scuff up the rollers for traction. just giving a idea to help you guys out.

For how much power you plan on pulling out there, with grinders, and drills and whatnot you should go ahead and run a separate "Sub Panel" with your own breaker box in the shed, with a BIG thick beefy set of wires from the panel in the big garage (direct burial wire) just dig a trench, bury the wires, it'll be fine- if you run decent wire (thick enough) you'll be able to run your 220v welder out there- Lights are cheap, 4ft long 2-bulb florescent fixtures are like $10 at Lowes, (bulbs not included) you could light up that whole shed inside like DAYLIGHT with like 4 or 6 of them? some proper 2-gang plug in boxes on the walls, you could have a serious workshop! Maybe paint it on the outside? Get all teh keaks fixed and put some Foam insulation boards on the inside (cause Ya'all are gunna freeze yer balls off in the winter) I'm actually Jealous................. This move wasnt a down grade- Keep thinking positive thoughts!

don't know what you budget for the shop, but if you put up some sheetrock (greenboard recommended) and paint it flat white. you wont need a ton of lights to brighten it up. flat white reflects like 80% of the light. btw I want to see a duel engine go cart

Pressure wash the inside of that old shop then after it all dries out spray all the interior wood and metal with 5 gallons of Kilz primer to brighten it up then install 3 of the 48" LED shop lights from Lowes ($39 each) and it would be a great start.

What you guys need lighting wise is what I call a LichtKannon config... all you need is 2-4 high powered LED flood lights (30-50W at the most... 100W would be cool but the single most overkill thing ever!) and put them where they spread the most light across the space... the light should be nice and even and give you less annoying shadowing when you're trying to look into a tight space on a car/go-kart... you can get the flood lights cheap on EBay... watch it though... go too cheap and they don't use the right driver units! they tend to use as low a wattage as they can get away with when you go el cheapo...

find some white or aluminium colour plastic (insulation?) foil and tack that to the beams on the ceiling and drape it down the walls and point the ledbulbs up toward it , should make the place quite a bit brighter and with some luck drain the leakage from the roof to the sides and make the place a little less hot / cold
two or three 33 watt fluoresnt lights might work better too though they thend to colour video green

I have a question: do you know of any sites that are good for buying the rear tires you have on the go kart (the 11.5 inch tires)? I'm also going to need rims to fit, I have 5-inch rims right now.

Go on amazon and get a few 5-meter 50-75 watt white LED strips for about 30$ each. STring em up to the rafters and youll have some great shop lights. Try these: www.amazon.com/Generic-3528SMD-300LEDs-16-4feet-Supply/dp/B01148W4DW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1445311473&sr=8-4&keywords=5+meter+white+led+strip+75w
I use em myself, They're crazy bright.

good thing about the spiders are that they most likely took care of the termites. so no need to worry about them eating new wood
