What a pretty park. I can't imagine how much more beautiful it will be in the summer. And yes please, do a series on these parks in the summer. I want to see you hike down that canyon.
I once had an electrifying time at Black Canyon. It is so narrow and deep that when we visited that day it was clear at the overlook, but a thunderstorm was moving through the canyon. Suddenly the hair on our heads stood straight up and the safety overlook rail began crackling as lightning hit down in the canyon. It was great looking down on the clouds, but we thought another time might be prudent.
@Sue_Cloutier plenty of people won't drive that in summer and you did it in winter, youre one brave soul lol. You should be fine with mesa Verde and great sand dunes but depending on schedule I'd hold off on rocky mountain np, until at least June. I was in the area last year in the last week of June and still encountered snow
@@nomaderic Had I known better, I would have taken another route! Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, I will be headed towards Alaska in June, so I will have to do what I can at RMNP for now, and come back in summer of 2025 to experience it fully.
@@nomaderic We got much more snow last year than normal, and much less this year, there will be places hard to reach, but she should be able to access most of it.

Yes!!
You should go to Colorado National Monument in Grand Junction, it’s worth the hour detour.
I see a huge pink quartz in that room when you got to the edge what a beautiful canyon
Huh, I didn't see that!

Wow, that sounds scary!
Ahh I see Colorado has grabbed a hold of you as well lol. Definitely my favorite state.
@nomaderic Well, it was mine as well until I drove route 550 around Red Mountain!
