Nah, I would argue Collosus as the best intro fight. Poseidon was one of the big 3 gods of greek Pantheon. I would have wanted more *Man to Man* fight with him like Hades and Zeus. He rarely give Kratos a challenge and got wooped pretty easily
Hot take: the tackle move in God of War Ghost of Sparta (L+Circle) is heavily underrated. It's really useful as it allows you to throw enemies like in the PS2 games and it can trigger qtes. You can even use it in the air!

It’s because it was a side game and was also directed by someone else not the creators of god of war so they would either just have him not appear in the next main line god of war game or have to kill him off. 5:12 I don’t see it as a full redemption. Pandora shows us that Kratos still has humanity, but it is too late for him. Even Pandora wasn’t enough for his revenge to end, he let’s her go during Zeus’s insults because he couldn’t control his rage. When the power of hope helps Kratos forgive himself for his past mistakes, what does Kratos do? He still kills Zeus with no hesitation. He is already lost. After Zeus dies he finally realizes what he has done to the world and what revenge cost him. If he didn’t let her go, he might’ve another child to raise, Pandora. Maybe a new beginning without Faye & Atreus, just Pandora. In the end, Kratos knows there is no turning back, he is a monster and he kills himself. But we already know what happens after actually. GOW3 was just a setup for a fully redemption arc in GOW(2018).

Hot take: Runic attacks should have been linked to the rage meter, sort of how in fighting games (like Mortal Kombat) there is a super meter that allows for powered-up attacks. I think that this would work well since most runic attacks are already just powered-up skills, for example, glaive storm is a charged up version of the hunter-killer skill. This would also add more player agency since you could choose either use the some rage for a runic attack or save it to go into spartan rage mode.

I have to disagree about GOW3’s story not being that good. Kratos’ journey has actually been disrespected by many fans and players. The whole point of him as a character is showing the consequences of pushing one so far. Kratos seeking “redemption” is beautiful because honestly he’s still human. How THE FUCK are you betrayed by the blacksmith of Olympus 😂😂 like come on. Anyway we can talk about it but I think 3 is the perfect wrap up to any trilogy I’ve ever played personally and call it what you will but I enjoyed EVERY head busting, eye gauging, torso splitting moment the ghost of Sparta has allowed me to watch.
Hot take: I think it would had been better if in GOW 4 when you begin your first battle with the blades of chaos they should had put the soundtrack "Glory of Sparta" but the GOW 3 version, when you fight Hercules. Idk, that soundtrack it's the best in the series when you are in a combat sequence or a boss battle.

My take: Athena is the truth antagonist because she wanted the death of Zeus. She even saved him only to be in a higher rank in the underworld. She used Kratos as a weapon for the destruction of Greece.

Hot take : Poseidon , being the second only to Zeus shouldn't have been killed in the beginning as the intro boss .. I find it a bit disregarding and disrespectful to Poseidon , should be at least weakened just to finish him up for good just before facing Zeus , giving him more challenge
*Hot Take #2* God of War 2 voice acting was much more savage and sounded so much better because Carson was younger and had the vocal chords for every single line to bs delivered perfectly, you can clearly see him deteriorating a bit in GoW3 even though he did a phenomenal job there too.
I think if you get Mjornir it would be a fun change up as a super heavy weapon so you can have blades of chaos as your light multihit lower damage weapon for larger groups of weaker enemies, mjornir as your slower but much more damaging weapon with shorter range so you can go ham on bosses and heavier enemies, and leviathan as a in between option.
Hot take:The Blade Of Olympus was actually one of the best weapon created in the franchise after the blade of chaos/exile/Athena it had some cool features in God of war 3.and they should add it in God of war Ragnarok as well.
Hot Take 1: Deimos was wasted potential. He could've fought with his brother and help mentor Atreus, as they were both given a somewhat colder impression by Kratos, but from different perspectives. Hot Take 2: I personally think the Blade of Olympus was one of, if not, the most important weapons due to how its presence upholds the weight of the story, like being the one thing that can stop the Titans and consequently, Zeus. Hot Take 3: The prophecy at the end of GOW4 was incomplete. I feel like Sigrun, current Queen of the Valkyries, would help Kratos find a way to return to the mortal plane and assist him in killing the Norse Pantheon rather than guide him to Valhalla.
Mjolnir is a hammer so that makes for a different move set than the Axe, apart from throwing it and its element is lightning, so the elment is also different and this way you have all the elements on your side.
Boss fights against bosses your size are better than ones against larger than life bosses since they match your speed and keep you on your toes, meanwhile larger bosses require you to wait for an opening in their big attacks, they're better for spectacle, but not as fights (they're still good though).
Hot take: God of War 3 is my fav game by far, but when Ragnarok is released, I feel like it will be as good “maybe better” because Odin, Thor, Freya, etc. are all going to be bosses, the Hyperion ram is going to be standard move, and u can visit all the realms
Hot take: while kratos weapon design and implementation are nearly flawless, I cant imagine how developers came up with two spinning chains with axe-swords on the ends for a weapon mechanic. Objectively, it makes little sense. Kratos is strong enough to wield the blades, that much is certain. But he would have needed telekinesis to keep those blades from going off edge on the spin. Love the content! Also Aphrodite wasnt even that hot, come fight me.
7:35 You'll probably disagree with me, but there's three ones that i think are neat in this regard with carrying weapons on one's back. From the games Darksiders, Legacy of Kain: Defiance and Kya: Dark Lineage. just think the Chaoseater of War from Darksiders is awesome. Just love the wailing, monstrous faces embedded in the simple outline design of the thing. And the notches in the ring pommel and top of the blade help in making it a strong silhouette. And the harpoon shape just make the Harpoon Tackle feel *so* nice. And in Darksiders 1, you can find some Enhancements that give the blade visually different effects too. So if you want them to cry blood, leak poison, burn in unholy fire or emit a purple miasma, you can! For me, it helps that personally i have a closer connection to Darksiders than GoW comparatively. And the Soul Reaver from the Legacy of Kain series is iconic as well. Although only Kain wears it on his back, whenever he *does* have it. Both the Reaver and Kain are legendary in their own right, though. As for Kya, she doesn't actually wield a sword as such, but a boomerang object called a Boomy that has a recurve shape with a ring with a hole in it in the middle. And her way of carrying it is quite unique-- the Boomy's shape allows for it to utilize the circular handle as an aiming reticule for manual aiming mode, and be carried as a hair clip for her blue dreads. Also, she kinda *can* use it as a sword. It's the final unlockable move you can find, and is a charge attack that sees Kya rotate the Boomy in the palm of her hand, which emits a BIG LONG LASER BLADE when the attack button is released and she spins around. And the length is dependant on how long you charge it for. You'll probably not agree, but I just like them.
Hot take: the nemesis whip is the least best weapon in god of war 3 not including head of Helios, bow of Apollo or boots of hermes because if you don’t know how to use it it’s not that good
The guy who said the blades don't look good on Kratos' back was talking about the blade of CHAOS. You talked about the blades of Athena and Exile. I agree with both of you.
To be fair, the blades of chaos and the blades of athena are the same design, minus the color scheme, (blades of athena being gold instead of silver) so..
They did tell tell TC. Carson that they were making a new game and even brought him in to do some mocap. What they didn't do was tell him they weren't going use him, they just didn't call him back and I disagree with that but I understand the reason they had. They said he was too small and moved too gracefully, it would have taken a long time if they had to go back and adjust all his mocap performances for them to match what they needed. For the previous games he only did they voice, someone else mocapped. I'm guessing the no cut camera prevented them from doing that with this game but idk.
Ares was the best protagonist because he made u kill innocent people made u the ultimate power hungry monster and even made u kill his own family what more do u want from him except zues tricked Kratos in Gow2 to put his godly powers into blade without realising and without much thought so Ares is the one for me
Hot take: I believe that god of war ascension multiplayer was underrated. Santa Monica studio should really give another shot making god of war multiplayer standalone game this time and in my opinion it would be pretty good since Sony is looking to make live service games
I personally think it’s because of the voiceovers cuts if you notice in gow2 it’s only loft levels but In gow3 there are lost voiceovers and when I say it I mean too many of them
additional hot take: i HATED the upgrade system in GoW2018 bc i hate fetch quest crap where i cant upgrade something without one specific ingredient in some random spot vs letting my skill with the game earn me red orbs and then i can pick and choose what to upgrade in the moment. ALso hate how the experience you get in game is so paltry compared to completing tasks and story checkpoints bc you end up just grinding for resources and it feels like a chore.
@@xxiii262 nah man chains of Olympus kratos is better than the norse , betrayal doesn't count as one of the series and ascension is not as bad as norse kratos
Hot take ⚠️ If it will even be obtainable in game in the first place, I don’t think Mjolnir will be a weapon or an upgrade/fusion, but a new set of runic attacks. Kinda like Atreus and his moves, but mjolnir would have more. But I’m really hoping they pull a blades of chaos and straight up give it to us with a skill tree n all, cause a big part of GOW has always been the variety with weapons. Hot take #2 ⚠️ I don’t mind if there isn’t another weapon. There’s already a shit ton to do and there will be new upgrades/moves/runic attacks. A whole new weapon might make other fighting methods redundant.
I think Vengeful Spartan didn't play, because this story was not about revenge and Kratos had moved on. He picked the blades to save his only family not to destroy another god.
Now I've been playing the GoW franchise since I was three, with my mom and dad on the ps2 (im 18 now), and I grew up on 1 and 2. Never could play GoW 3 (except for the demo) but I did my research, watched the full walkthrough just like with Ascension, those two are the only GoW games I haven't played, because I didn't own a PS3 or PS4. So I know what im talking about, but if I could play them for myself I'd love to. My *HOT TAKE* is.. God of War 2 by far has the best story, best end and cliffhanger to a third installment (which is great storytelling) making the third even better just like GoW2 did to it's predecessor GoW1, and is overall the best game in the series considering the time it was released, the nostalgia, and all the aspects that were by a margin less superior than GoW3 just because it's an older game.
It is implied thta ares teached kratos how to fight (the line athena says about kratos being a mortal trained by a god and how ares mentions kratos' last lesson in the final fight) i only wish we got a flashback of some sort to kratos being taugh by ares, maybe put in a hint at ares being a cruel teacher for us to hate him more, idk I feel this is a missed opportunity.
Hot take: GOW 3 is much less fun to replay than other games due to unskippable cutscenes and a lack of unlockable bonus material. You get only one alt costume, the rest you had to pre order which as lame as hell bc half the fun of ps2 era games was all the extra cool unlockable outfits, weapons, minigames etc
Hot take: Leviathan axe is the greatest non-chained/secondary weapon in the series (By that I mean every weapon except Blades of Chaos, Athena and Exile). It was forged from 20 Frost Troll Screams... Give or take... And rivals Mjolnir itself, and it also means many things for Kratos since it's a weapon passed down to him from his wife.
We need more cool video game characters with an iconic axe as their main weapon. The only other character i can think of is Eddie Riggs from Brütal Legend with the Separator. I suppose he carries *two* axes, but of different kinds.
Prediction 😎🌠💪 I've made this before on twitter While kratos and thor fight both thier weapon's break the later brok and sindri combime broken axe and broken hammer and kratos get stormbringer which has the properties of both axe and hammer but it has a completely new moveset 😎
Hot take: Kratos has no right to be angry at Ares about him tricking him into killing his first family, since Kratos offered Ares his LIFE (not just his soul, Gaia), and his family is part of his life.
Hot take: T.C Carson should have voiced Kratos in the flashback in God of War 4. By not doing this SantaMonica are trying to rewrite history when it should be honoured! There’s hope for Ragnarok… who am I kidding.
Hot take: God of War 1 has the most frustrating parts in all of the games. Fighting the cerberus dogs, the underworld section, the kratos clones. I'm getting angry just thinking about it.
The Cerberus dogs were worse in god of war 2 you had to fight them with a room full of them and also these hammer dudes that had hella hp forgot the name
@@jc._.goated6666 I actually don't remember the cerberus dogs in gow2, I'm just at the beginning of replaying that game after years. But in gow1 it is pure chaos, 6 at the same time and you can kill so many without ending the encounter. Not 100% sure but I believe that dps, not the amount of kills makes you win. After a long time I realized that the combo triangle, triangle, triangle, dodge would be the best. Sure once I tried that strategy I beat it immediately on hard so if you know what you are doing it is easy, but the initial experimentation and trial and error is frustrating as hell.
@@Grivian yeah I just either use Poseidons rage on the little dogs or press O on them that’s the easiest way to defeat them if not that then launch the little shits in the air and do some combos on them
@@jc._.goated6666 I do remember being so angry while playing GoW2 as a kid that I was screaming and throwing the controller, which made my mom mad at me. But I don't remember a section as bullshit as the balancing spike section with the awful checkpoints or the spike wall in gow1, or the kratos clones. I've played gow1 for the first time recently on hard and I'm not sure I will replay it on god mode because or the kratos clones lmao.
Not sure it's a hot take, but: While I think Kratos' charater is well handled in GoW 2018 and I do think his development in game is very good some times you are left to wonder if there was really another option for Kratos to do somethings he does. For exemple, he goes to retrieve the Blades of Chaos and it's cleary emotional and something he cleary does not want to do, but he does for his son. Which is great... But then again.... Plot does not give him another chance, because he either does that of another child of dies. So he real hot take would be that his emotional conflict with Pandora was actual more complicated, since he either mudered her, or he would fail his quest. And the rest is history.
Hot take: The grab on small enemies in GoW 3 where you run around with them isn't as useful or as fun as throwing them at another enemy like it was in GoW 1 & 2. It always feels like it doesnt do anything unless you can knock them off of a cliff, which you can do better with the old grab
Hot take: poseidon is the best intro boss in the god of war series . The fact that you start the game and you fight one of the most important Olympians is amazing. The fight is very memorable and the love playing this boss every single time. Also the quick time event is my favourite in the series.

Hot Take: *OLD AND BALD POSEIDON COULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER BOSS THAN YOUNG AND HAIRY POSEIDON IN GOD OF WAR 3. HE WAS OLD AND BALD IN GOD OF WAR 1*
Probably cause the OG dev of Gow 1 was gone lol
Hot take: Zeus is the hardest boss in gow 3 (chaos mode), especially the third phase when you're inside gaia
Boss fights against bosses your size are better than ones against larger than life bosses since they match your speed and keep you on your toes, meanwhile larger bosses require you to wait for an opening in their big attacks, they're better for spectacle, but not as fights (they're still good though).
hot take: baulder is a waste of a boss fight only thing he is, is a damge sponge
Hot take: God of War 3 is my fav game by far, but when Ragnarok is released, I feel like it will be as good “maybe better” because Odin, Thor, Freya, etc. are all going to be bosses, the Hyperion ram is going to be standard move, and u can visit all the realms
Hot take : best level/area in gow 2 is atlas
God of war 3 weapons look the same at level 1 and 5, I miss their evolution in the other games
Ares was the only god who killed kratos effortlessly. Kratos needed the embodiment of hope.
Charon did the same thing. Same with Zeus.
Cool paragraph bro but
Aphrodite wasn't hot???? My bro are you listening to yourself!?
@@ExtremeGameplays1 sorry,I change my answer to " dang, how dem blades spin tho"
also ye I liked her assistants more *finger guns*

You'll probably disagree with me, but there's three ones that i think are neat in this regard with carrying weapons on one's back.
Hot take: the nemesis whip is the least best weapon in god of war 3 not including head of Helios, bow of Apollo or boots of hermes because if you don’t know how to use it it’s not that good
to me it has the best magic attack but its just a too weak compared to the BoE for me to main it. But, i still prefer it to the claws.
@hood337 yes I know it is op when you know how to use it but my point is that it requires much more skill than the other 3
The guy who said the blades don't look good on Kratos' back was talking about the blade of CHAOS. You talked about the blades of Athena and Exile.
I agree with both of you.
To be fair, the blades of chaos and the blades of athena are the same design, minus the color scheme, (blades of athena being gold instead of silver) so..
Hot take: god of war 4 is no longer a heck & slash game
Congratulations for your first speedrun & 10k sub :D
They did tell tell TC. Carson that they were making a new game and even brought him in to do some mocap. What they didn't do was tell him they weren't going use him, they just didn't call him back and I disagree with that but I understand the reason they had. They said he was too small and moved too gracefully, it would have taken a long time if they had to go back and adjust all his mocap performances for them to match what they needed. For the previous games he only did they voice, someone else mocapped. I'm guessing the no cut camera prevented them from doing that with this game but idk.
Ares was the best protagonist because he made u kill innocent people made u the ultimate power hungry monster and even made u kill his own family what more do u want from him except
zues tricked Kratos in Gow2 to put his godly powers into blade without realising and without much thought so
Ares is the one for me
Hot take: I believe that god of war ascension multiplayer was underrated. Santa Monica studio should really give another shot making god of war multiplayer standalone game this time and in my opinion it would be pretty good since Sony is looking to make live service games
I personally think it’s because of the voiceovers cuts if you notice in gow2 it’s only loft levels but In gow3 there are lost voiceovers and when I say it I mean too many of them
Not a hot take but it will be very interesting if you could make an in depth video about the best side weapon like you did with the blades of chaos
And i like the way ares doing the rock "🤨" lmao
Hot take: hot take
Hot take God Of War 4 has the worst bosses in the series except Baldur (I love him) and sons of Thor
Nice vid, these are my favourites
additional hot take: i HATED the upgrade system in GoW2018 bc i hate fetch quest crap where i cant upgrade something without one specific ingredient in some random spot vs letting my skill with the game earn me red orbs and then i can pick and choose what to upgrade in the moment. ALso hate how the experience you get in game is so paltry compared to completing tasks and story checkpoints bc you end up just grinding for resources and it feels like a chore.
You're all wrong, the best antagonist was and still is the king cerberus.
Rock on dude! Totally awesome!
Hot take:posiden's rage is the most op majic attack next to the magic attack in god of war 3 with the blades of exile and cronos rage
Hot take:Gow betrayal is better than gow 2018, FIGHT ME
Hot take: killing enemies with heavy weapons like nemean cestus is way more satisfying than killing them with baldes.
ARES DESTROY MY ENEMIES
Hot take: The norse kratos is the worst kratos in the series, angry kratos was just the best, weapons, moves etc..
Nah man, worst kratos was either chains of Olympus or GOW betrayal or GOW ascension
Grow up
@@xxiii262 nah man chains of Olympus kratos is better than the norse , betrayal doesn't count as one of the series and ascension is not as bad as norse kratos
Pandora reminded Kratos of his daughter that's why he didn't want her to die at the end..
Hot take ⚠️
If it will even be obtainable in game in the first place, I don’t think Mjolnir will be a weapon or an upgrade/fusion, but a new set of runic attacks. Kinda like Atreus and his moves, but mjolnir would have more. But I’m really hoping they pull a blades of chaos and straight up give it to us with a skill tree n all, cause a big part of GOW has always been the variety with weapons.
Hot take #2 ⚠️
I don’t mind if there isn’t another weapon. There’s already a shit ton to do and there will be new upgrades/moves/runic attacks. A whole new weapon might make other fighting methods redundant.
Hot take kratos getting blades in gow 4 was easily the most goosebumps moment in gow series
If you use roll cancel correcly blade of artemis is destructible and can do combos what you never dreamed...like barbarian hammer afther upgrade:)
love the videos
I think Vengeful Spartan didn't play, because this story was not about revenge and Kratos had moved on. He picked the blades to save his only family not to destroy another god.
Hot take: God of war 3 had the best weapons in my mind because u can do combo's and stuff, U can't get wrong with it.
I kinda like the rpg mechanics that the new game has adapted to , it kinda makes the game fun and more grind able
Hot take: Zeus Hades and Poseidon are the coolest bosses in greek trilogy
Zeus and Hades : Yes👍
Poseidon: Nope ☹️
HOT TAKE: BLADES OF CHAOS(Greek Saga) ARE 2ND BEST LOOKING BLADES AFTER THE BLADES OF EXILE
Not putting the hecatonceres in god of war 3 or chains of olympus was a miss on saints Monica's.
Prediction 😎🌠💪 I've made this before on twitter
While kratos and thor fight both thier weapon's break the later brok and sindri combime broken axe and broken hammer and kratos get stormbringer which has the properties of both axe and hammer but it has a completely new moveset 😎
Hot take: Kratos has no right to be angry at Ares about him tricking him into killing his first family, since Kratos offered Ares his LIFE (not just his soul, Gaia), and his family is part of his life.
Kratos offered HIS life, not his family's.
Hot take:
T.C Carson should have voiced Kratos in the flashback in God of War 4.
@@Grivian yeah me neither but after replaying it this week after a year or so they were very annoying far more annoying than in god of war 1
Not sure it's a hot take, but:
While I think Kratos' charater is well handled in GoW 2018 and I do think his development in game is very good some times you are left to wonder if there was really another option for Kratos to do somethings he does.
Hot take: Atreus should be the new protagonist of the franchise. It’s better to leave kratos for some time at least and tackle a new character.
They won't do it tho it would be awesome
electricle ice combo is best for axe
Hot take: The grab on small enemies in GoW 3 where you run around with them isn't as useful or as fun as throwing them at another enemy like it was in GoW 1 & 2. It always feels like it doesnt do anything unless you can knock them off of a cliff, which you can do better with the old grab
i mean when you have a crowd of them you can rack up some damage to other bigger enemies pretty well
Quick answer yes he was
