yes the RS3 was nice and briefly drove like a new car until engine failure, here in Canada in the VAG circle there's lots of issues with that motor , too bad the old engines were more reliable and you were right to see the taillights leave, you never feel the same when this happens, all your projects and videos are good to watch, your right when your a one man band you only have so much time 👍

This is why I'd only ever buy a brand new performance car, it's the only way to know if the engine has been run in properly. I worked at a BMW dealership briefly and would see the salesman flooring it out of the forecourt in their demos and down a dual carriageway without giving the engine any time to warm up.

15:36 - had the exact same issue, albeit in an E90 320i, was faulty alternator. Recommend checking that first, although I understand it could be many other things
The exhaust rockers are flying off on these dazas because of the variable valve duration system. Maybe remove the pcv and bore scope the exhaust rockers to check on them. Check for scoring on the exhaust camshafts.
Big fan on the scirocco project, hope to see more of it!!! I recently learned Audi did a TT shooting brake concept, which the body looks oddly like the scirocco! Perhaps when you are done with the mechanical side of it and get it running, you could repicate it?? The concept has the 3.2VR6 4wd drive train in it, so basically you are doing a oem+ built already if you managed to make it 4wd!
Ours is going into MRC with a load metallic ticking noise Vw are absolutely rubbish and I feel your pain Been back 5 times and not even half a day and you get a phone call saying nowt wrong Takes weeks to book in but when they want you buy something todo with servicing etc they are quick to ring I’ll still buy another VW but it certainly won’t be going back to VW if there’s a issue because the warranty is rubbish

Customer service at the vag group is ridiculous. I recently purchased a 23 plate Cupra Leon, and the SOS, ADAS, and infotainment software is a joke. I've written to the Managing Director for all Cupra UK operations twice, and I'm on a second case handler. Ironically, the Cupra dealership I bought the vehicle from is only a 6-minute drive from head office.

Selling the M5 will be your biggest regret! I have an M5 E60 and started to think about selling since last spring but I haven't because I cant, every time I try to make an advertisement for it I stop and think what else can replace the magnificent V10? NOTHING. Mine has around 68k miles on it and is also Interlagos blue! It is the car that got me into cars when I was 15 years old when it was released. I have done so much to it since 2017 when I bought it: rod bearings, vanos lines, SMG hydralic pump, clutch and flywheel, fuel pump, injectors, idle actuators, throttle actuators, alternator and thermostat. The most of it as preventative maintenance and it has been worth every penny! / Best regards M5 owner from Sweden

Same thing happened to me think they said it was crack shaft bearings the went ahead and put a new engine in it but I rejected the car as it never made sense to me as how do I sell it on in the end telling potential buyers, oh it’s a great car it’s on its second engine had to fight to get rejected

I’ve always had Audi’s since I saw your old S3 videos years ago and always loved them but I had a similar experience with Audi UK and my RS3 8V FL with its transfer box failing (apparently due to the wrong sized tyres they told me!! 🤣) had to fight my case and eventually won. But it turned me to go for a BMW on renewal.
I have an issue with my RS3, although not an engine, but I found a paint defect where lacquer has peeled off on the A Pillar. ( looks like a previous repair) brand new car, 66miles. Phoned a week later and dealer is totally ignoring me. Not sure what to do, as I didn’t want the car any more
M140i reliability 100% rs3 daza weak engines M140i can reach 800+hp on stock internals. I'm happy with 700hp like I have. Have beaten a lot of rs3 audis stage 2 and 3 true story
How is the underside of the Passat looking now? I just bought the same Upol products you used for my manual V70 T5 build. Haven’t had the time to use them all yet so would be curious to see your feedback. Only used the rust converter and primer for prepping the engine bay for painting, starting on underside in next few weeks.

Vag technic youtube found on the modern diesels engines same thing, oil pressure to low. They increase the pressures iirc on the diesels

A lot of VAG cars has recently had rocker arm failure, s4/5, rs4/5, 1.5 tsi (early models) so it wouldnt be a surprise if the rs3 had that to 🤷

Had a 2 litre scirocco dsg myself and within 2 months of ownership had a water pump go. Injector go then water pump leak again so sold it 😂
