This is such an overblown issue. Toyota gets put in under a microscope for every little thing. Meanwhile Ford and GM continue to put out defective trucks and nobody bats an eye.

I read all of the Toyota Tundra bashing. They just came out with a new engine so of course it will have some issues but I can tell you that out of all of the Auto Brands. Toyota always figure things out when it comes to a new engine and then it's stays reliable for years. The other car brands are still having issues with their last and current engines. Issues that has never been resolved.

For a vehicle marketed as an "off-road" option, it's baffling why the Tundra doesn't have recovery points or a straightened tailpipe. The low front clearance (does it even have a bash plate?) makes me wonder what the engineers were smoking when they decided this was the path forward. Absolutely would take the Tremor over this, because at least that one is designed for its proposed purpose.

I own a 2018 Toyota Tundra. Love the truck but it lacks storage space and functionality. Tech is good (I can live with it), but wish it had more innovation in their trucks. If you asked me to between the Toyota or Ford...I would keep my V8 Tundra.

That Tundra's bed looks incredibly small. Narrow and not as deep. The Tundra's engine has so much grunt it would seem that the crankshaft bearings struggle to handle it. So many claimed the issue was limited to the first year. Then 2023's started failing. Now 2024's are failing. It's a big problem for Toyota. Resale values are going to reflect all the engine failures and lack of consumer confidence in the engine's reliability. I would go with the Tremor in match-up.

I’ve had fords with ecoboost engines and my experience was not good. Also had Forda with good ol V8s and they were very reliable. Never owned a Tundra but we all know about the legendary V8 reliability of the previous generation 5.7L (fuel economy notwithstanding). We can’t say the same with the 3.4L turbo V6. From what I’m seeing it’s complete garbage. It’s also unfortunate that almost all new trucks seem to have gremlins these days. Add in the cost and no way I’d buy one if I needed a pickup again. I’d probably look for a previous gen Tundra if I wanted a pickup truck.
