bought this 2 days ago . used my strat plugged into my deluxe reverb . it sounded awful . put it away . but today i got off work early decided to try it again . pulled out the super reverb and my strat . cranked the amp and put the pedal on the mid and the level at 12:00 .. it came alive . the tone i was getting was fantastic !!

Quick tip - I usually abbreviate and say "SRV".
SRV is GOD.

But seriously, that LOW setting and the rolled back volume should be a convincing enough argument for anyone who wants the SRV tone.
I can see you really enjoyed it too. Amazing control and range with only two buttons (in that way it reminds me of the MXR distortion+). I'm only wondering if one can hit the same vibes with the Euphoria...
Is that a dry rub or a wet vinegar based heat ya puttin on that tone cause the smoke ring is deep on that box o Texas BBQ!

This pedal seems very noisy. I personally use a Wampler Plexi Drive Deluxe + Blues Junior Red October + Fender Strat to get a nice SRV tone. But most of the SRV tone is in the way you play. Search UA-cam for Wampler Plexi SRV and you will understand... Many thanks for all your videos, I really appreciate! 👍
I'd like to know more about your actual techniques..that's a lot diverse cool riffing..I do too much srv copying

What is the amp volume set on? If the amps on 7 to achieve that tone , then you might as well get a tube screamer. I need to know if I can get that tone on 3 before shelling out $250.00 .

Stevie is all about bending, with thick strings, right? And genious!
He did play with thick strings, but nowhere near as much as people think. There was an article by his former tech/roadie that killed a lot of those myths iirc

My question: if I was thinking about getting the pedal pawn fuzz, but always wanted the Texan twang, will I get enough fuzz from the twang to not worry about paying the extra several hundred for the fuzz?

Well the thing I’m confused about is that the low setting in the Texas twang seems to also have a lot of fuzz and then they both claim to have the “glassy” clean up so for the amount they cost, I’m worried about them being a little too similar to justify? Now if they’re really that different and worth it, no probs I’ll pull the trigger. Thank you for answering, I am subscribing to your channel because I like your channel and you answer questions! I'd say its more along the lines of a ZZ Top Texas twang/fuzz than a SRV sound..

@@robkat8884 it's a copy of an existing pedal basically, the texas ranger booster.
I have the Diaz Texas Ranger, I think this thing is a clone of. And the Texas Ranger is sort of a Rangemaster clone. It‘s a treble booster, so it has nothing at all to do with SRV. I don’t think he ever played a treble booster. Mostly because treble boosters are a British thing. You usually play them with cranked British amps. So this is a British pedal copying a Texan pedal copying a British amp top box. Jeeeeeez... 😅
