I've worked with visualizing an "old situation" but I replace my "old self" in the drama with my "new self" and play out a better ending which then replaces a new reality. An example is I felt defeated for a long time by domestic abuse. I replaced memories which kept running through my mind with "new memories" of how I dealt with the abuse as if I was in the Matrix easily moving out of the impact of being hit. This changed how I saw myself and changed how people reacted to me. The Ex went from being menacing to backing off and I started attracting a more balanced group of people around me.

Rose, I think people would love to watch you on video explaining this and encouraging them to also try it for every type of intimidating person. Coming directly from someone who did it so successfully, would have powerful impact I feel.

Gregory May it’s good to be self aware but I think sometimes being too self aware turns into self obsession. Realize that people don’t think as much about you as you think about you. That has helped me tremendously.

I can't tell how true this is. I did this to myself once. When i was in 8th grade i used to see myself as an ugly and fat person. And everbody used to comment on that because i kept saying it!
When i went to highschool i changed my self image. First off, i realised that i'm not that ugly and started liking myself. Started caring about my looks, my body and my hygiene... But there was still a problem with my personality.
Then on 11th grade i was liked by everbody.
The key sentence is "Not giving a shit." Because when you don't give a shit, they can't find anything to hurt your feelings. They know that no matter what they say, you'll be like "who are you?", "i don't care about your opinions"
They know that they can't say anything bad to someone who doesn't care. Because that would be ridicolous. That would only cause them to hurt since the person who doesn't care doesn't give a damn.
So what they can do is that: they can like you, they will like you...
...on 11th grade my insecurities dissapeared. I loved myself. My personality, my body, my face. I loved to person who i became. I was proud because i created that me.
I remember the people around me asking: If you would change something about yourself, what would it be?
I would say nothing. I wouldn't change a one thing. And they would get surprised, they used to react: "How can you love yourself so much?"
They would adore me. They used to compliment me like crazy. They always talked about how mature and beautiful i was. I remember that one time that i got tired of compliments lol... that one time, my best friend was like "Are you hypnotizing them, what da fuck?
The thing is I didn't even give a damn about the compliments. They weren't coming from the people i like.. They were just, you know, people. They weren't friends, they were not the people i cared about.
So i didn't care what they tought...
I wrote my experience to show you, guys. But also one of the reasons i wrote this is to make myself remember how changing my self image changed my life back then.
I need to remember this because like he said in the video, I'm also having that idea that i'm being awkward about men i got attracted to. It's crazy, you can't guess how many potential love stories i have destroyed. But it's all about viewing. When i'm around them "I" define myself as awkward. And spread my awkwardance to them. So it's all about me. I can change it.

Oh my gosh, Aaron! Thank you for this! I have lost 170 lbs.. going from a size 30 to a size small. I've surrendered a lot of my old beliefs about myself yet some still exist. I manifested this connection with this man...and he was exactly the type of guy i wanted to connect with...but with my negative core beliefs about being heavy, not being good enough, not pretty enough...he always affirmed me btw... never said anything remotely like that..he treated me like a beautiful angel sent to his life...but i sabotaged it because of my beliefs and then my fears kicked in and I've been making myself miserable. I have to let go of those beliefs to be who I am now. Thank you for making me aware.

This is such a good video Aaron. I honestly find the self help industry very destructive regarding self image, because it is always about "becoming more successful" or doing this or that. Whereas I think the most important thing is to love yourself and to be at peace with yourself, then the world world around you will change, and you won't have to change for the world around you. Awesome video, thanks for the positive vibes :-)

I watch your videos and know you're right and then try to pick apart your personality or video style in order to grant my ego rationale for not changing their ways. It’s all about knowing you’re enough no matter how you look or how you act or what you have. We are all enough simply because we are here, and because we all come from the same source energy. Once you feel that deep within your soul, everything changes. It’s not easy to do, because it takes regular reinforcement over and over, but it’s amazing what happens when it finally sinks in. ❤️❤️ I’ve found that Consistently meditating is key to helping me accept this. Also, your videos and others videos and books have also been key as well. Thank you 🙏

Blessings to you Desiree! You have to psychically and mentally stay away from people or memories that bring you down, avoid them, stay away. If it's impossible (if this is a family member, or from work or school environment), you can still maintain some distance and be just talking to them briefly, with very general information, do not give them any personal info (what You are doing/working/studying). Demons feed of your personal info and try to bring you down. Express NO emotion - no anger, frustration or anything like that. Demons also feed of your fear, sadness, depression, guilt, or any negative emotion you have. Do not feed Demons...

Thank you. meditated for the first time from another video, bc meditation was suggested due to recently experinced a panic attack and lots of anxiety for first time & out of no where. I didnt want medication. Ive done 3 times so far & just weeped. apparently i have shit i need to deal with; death of close friend, messed up childhood, the wreckage of many broken relationships.. right away i was able to see the anxiety is coming from meeting someone i connect with and this intense fear i have of attachment...its freaking crazy amazing how when u look inside, your inner self will show u. I hate crying bc of the intense pain i feel..but in the state im in when meditating it feels cleansing and good in away. Im looking forward to learning more!

I really find your videos to be quite helpful. You rock!

This is brilliant, Aaron! 🌟🙏 Great stuff!
For the readers among us, a written summary: Examine why I have that self-image. Why would I have that belief? It’s probably tagged to a memory from when I was very young. Look at it from an observer point of view. Ask myself how I can perpetuate that belief about myself. I can see that that belief is illogical; it isn’t who I am now. Let go of the self-image of being overweight, for example. Take off the filter of how other people perceive us. Accept who we are in this moment.

A light bulb clicks on after seeing this video, I'll take what I've learned in the last 16 minutes and 22 seconds of this video and apply it to everyday life thank you!

Very true. I was overweight for half my life, food was a coping mechanism to fill in a void which I wanted unconditional love. It was the only "form" of it I "felt" genuinely. Now, as an adult I recognize that. Something I didn't know as a child. Once I realized that, it seemed like all my weight just fell away. Since I realized it was because I was lacking in self-love and it was something I've been working on.... because I recognized it, and started to work out for myself, realizing this weight wasn't me. I didn't weigh myself for months, just wanting to see things visually. It just seemed soooo easy all of a sudden. I'm 10 pounds from my goal ;4; it's a good feeling. Good luck to you, brothers, sisters, siblings whom also are struck with similar troubles... I'm thankful for these videos which teach authenticity. They really help, thank you. Peace and love.

such a great tip! dont hold on to negative experiences because it’s not who you are now. i feel worthless around girls i like because that’s how i was treated when i was younger. but recently i’ve had great experiences with women being attracted to me so i’m going to use those as new reference points. the past doesn’t define anybody.

Yes, it really is all about how you view yourself. It all starts from there. However, I'm still having trouble in applying this practically. Whenever I TRULY open myself and let go of various things that hold me back, I see progress immediately, but it's difficult to maintain the pattern of lifting yourself up on a daily basis. Takes a lot of "ego fighting" I guess.

Phenomenal video, there's a book titled Psycho Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz and it dives really deep on the concept of self image, written by a plastic surgeon and his experiences with his patients' self image changes as well as cases where cases where after they looked 'beautiful' they still had the same emotional scarring and thinking patterns. Amazing book, will change your life and expose all of the negative paradigm that you currently live in

The true me, i am very introvert, a homebody, love to travel, and not with a career i like. When i go out with my friend and there is a crowd, i am very anti social. So if someone approaches me i lie about everything myself just to be accepted or wowed. WHAT can i do to stop this? It has become a habit i do for the past 10 years.

Most ppl treat me opposite of how I think bc I don’t do a lot of negative things so they act like I’m sheltered, have never traveled, cursed, or never heard cursing etc. I’m almost 50 and just bc I haven’t done a lot of scandalous things they treat me like I’m a teenager. I’ve traveled to Canada, New York, Los Angeles etc. Sometimes ppl want to force who they want u be and not bc u think that way. I do don’t believe that everything deals with how u feel about who u are it’s ppl and their perceptions. There are children who are abused from the time their kids so I guess they feel like being abused. Ppl project their negative crap onto others who they see as less then.

Thanks for this. I always think that there's something inherently wrong with me to make people dislike me so. I used to be confident when I was a child, but it seems like my parents (especially my father) discouraged me in that and sowed seeds of doubt in my self and my abilities. I think he was ashamed of me for being myself and he would criticise and belittle everything I do. And being young, with no other role models, I started to believe that what they are doing is the right way for me and internalised everything. So the moment I entered high school I was a nervous wreck. The whole school picked on me because i was weak and vulnerable. Hence I didn't learn anything as I was just trying to survive school and I always doubted my abilities to succeed anyway.
    Primary school = class clown
High school = push over weak kid that everyone picked on.
As such my life is ruined. I have no job, no life, still live with my parents.
    I'm 27 now...
What you said, does encourage me. I always think, what if this person thinks i'm weird (I end up acting weird and tense anyway). Anywhere I go I always feel like i'm being monitored on everything I do...
I guess If I had more achievements in my life I could feel better about myself.
    Sorry I'm just rambling now...

One thing I would add - a very important thing when it comes to this concept - is making sure that the new you that you want to be is TRUE to your actual personality. I consider myself to be decent in making personal change. However, I have spent so much time and energy in the past trying to adopt some characteristics that were not authentic to my personality. And, of course, I ran into problems. Learning to accept your authentic personality is huge, and I have recently begun to do that, and I'm soooo happy for it. I still make changes, but only if they are in alignment with who I really am.

Your videos are giving me a new found hope in life and understanding it, understanding myself. Breaking habits is hard. Especially mental patterns that you’ve worked with your entire life. But I’ve always believed that the mind is the master and if you just train it right, it can serve you for anything you want; positive or negative. The journey to mastering your mind is a tough one. An uncomfortable one. The thought of being able to change my mind is the only thing that gives me hope. People have let me down profusely and I have let others down in the same way. So I guess the only place to expect anything from is yourself. And I mean this without sounding jaded or negative. People are great but you have to get to a place of self reliance to truly trust yourself again after believing your entire life that you’re not good enough. I hope everyone finds their peace. 🙏🏼 thanks for your videos again!!

  • @johnparks6936
    @johnparks6936 4 роки тому

I agree with everything in this video but just a word of caution about the "self acceptance" advice that we should all be aware of. The whole idea here is that we are limited the beliefs we hold regarding who we think we are, since these beliefs ultimately become part of our self image and identity. So true change only comes when we get to the roots of WHY we hold certain limiting beliefs about ourselves, analyzing and deconstructing certain life events and experiences to realize the (often ridiculous) reasons why we ended up thinking that way. And that's why this advice about "self acceptance" can be a dangerous one... Such advice may lead us to justify, rather than challenge, some of our self-limiting beliefs, dismissing them as fundamental aspects of who we are that we simply have come to terms with rather than actively work on and change. Taking the example that Aaron brought up, if you have this belief that "I'm akward around women" you need to sit down and take the time to figure out where this belief came from and then use that awareness to help you overcome it. You are NOT supposed to just accept your akwardness around women as "who you are" and try to move on... You need to FIGHT that limiting belief with everything you've got if you want to get over it!! Hope that makes sense.
