My parents always cooked the typical Japanese breakfast when I was a kid. 1 piece of salmon, miso soup with seaweeds and tofu, 1 small bowl of rice and fried rolled eggs. Japanese people get fat rarely. And then we walk to school.

    I don’t eat breakfast!
I only eat between 12 noon (lunch) to
5-6 pm (dinner). Six hour window of eating.
    Maybe a snack in between.
I drink VERY diluted coffee with a tsp of hazelnut creamer 👍
    It works for me.
All this “Breakfast is the most important meal” I don’t believe it at all!

Skip breakfast and just fast the mornings, youll stay in shape better. But make sure to eat your protein and veggies during lunch and dinner. Also dont eat dinner late, better to stop eating before 8-9pm. For more info, research Intermittent fasting. It really does work, been doing it over yr now. Of course I'm not perfect, I'll eat breakfast every once a while like once every 2 weeks or so. But make sure to not eat alot of carbs or junk in morning.

It was painful to watch them eat all of that food and then lunch and so on. Never a break for the poor digestive system. I just have my black organic coffee and a plant based protein shake for lùnch and a healthy dinner and I feel fabulous at almost 70. Hike, bike, swim, cold water therapy, etc, and I have no pain anywhere in my body, except for my thumb. Same weight as I was when I was 12. My younger friends have so many heath issues and can’t exercise. I feel badly for them but there has to be some effort to improve one’s health. So yeah no breakfast is one of my ways to feel better. We both retired, so I haven't seen her now in a few years, but from her initial thrilling weight loss, she was slowly packing pounds back on...

It is such an important part of long-term weight maintenance. My sister had the gastric sleeve about 7 years ago. She has maintained most of her weight loss by making permanent changes is what she eats and how much. So proud of her! I do think it is very important to eat more protein and decrease the carbs, especially in the morning. Not sure where I stand on intermittent fasting though. I have gone a different route, instead of bariatric surgery I have made permanent, long term changes in what I eat and how much. I realized if I didn't stop the unhealthy eating I would end up weighing 400 pounds. Because of making these changes including learning to love broccoli and other vegetables, I have lost 50 pounds since 2018!

Traditionally, we never had problems with obesity or diabetes, that was until we were convinced by western culture, usually America, that our savory breakfast was unhealthy and that we should be eating say, cereal like CORNFLAKES!!! with fruit and donuts with sweet coffee !!!
    Think about that people !!
Who has actually benefited from these changes to cultural diets ? Who owns these multinational cereal companies??

@@Embrace-BB of course! I will say I don't eat 3 meals a day as I have never been able to stomach more than my evening meal. Please don't copy me on that, if you are used to eating 3 meals, please continue to do so. I look for low to no carb foods such as lettuce, broccoli. If it's a sweet veg or fruit then unfortunately it is out, this includes sweetcorn, carrots, peas etc. you'll be surprised how much meat and cheese you can eat though, especially low carb cheeses like blues and brie. My evening meal usually consists of broccoli, steak or a burger (no bread, stop eating bread on keto) covered in either melted blue cheese or you can even have regular cheddar (it's slightly higher in carbs than other cheeses, but since you aren't having a load of the stuff it's pretty negligible). I do like my coffee (never had sugar in coffee anyway), that's been the hardest to cut down on but I limit myself to 2 cups a day and drink lots of water. Instead of milk in my coffee I have 2 tablespoons of double cream (low carbs compared to milk which has a surprising amount of sugar in). There are obviously loads of foods and veg you can have. You just need to look for high fat, moderate protein, and low to no carbs. Avocado is fantastic, especially with poached eggs. I know this isn't a full list, as I am still discovering foods myself. It's also not recommended to stay on this diet for longer than 6 months because of the high fat content of foods you are eating. I initially went on this diet to help me lose the residual weight from having my baby, I wanted to lose half a stone to get me back to pre-preg weight. It absolutely worked, but I found myself feeling amazing on it, so carried on doing it. Sorry this was a REALLY long reply, but I hope it's helped you a little bit. 👍

Would this relate to toddlers as well? My toddler is a pretty good eater, and eats pretty healthy most of the time. The one thing that’s hard for me is that in the morning he always wants some kind of heavier carb. Whether that be “healthier banana pancakes” that I make, or “healthier french toast.” I do make sure to put a source of meat/protein with it, and usually berries of some sort. I just want to make sure I’m setting him up for his whole day to be the best it can be energy wise for him.

I agree 100%! When we Break-fast it doesn’t even have to be in the morning. Simply the 1st meal after a fasting time (as a nights sleep or longer if intermittent is your thing). The protein 1st thing is crucial. I totally notice if I ate a bagel in the morning…. Forget it, I felt hungry all day! There’s definitely something to this! Marketing and greed have created these false paradigms & I’m so elated the cats out of the bag! Blessings & abundant health for all! 🙏🏻💜✨🕊️

A couple of years ago I was doing what it is described in the video: sugary breakfast, mostly cereal with milk, and guess what at around 10-11 am I was extremely hungry and end up eating double what I used to eat. So true. I diet on a protein, healthy fats and veggies for breakfast. It keeps me fuller for longer and as I continue to do so you will find that you crave less sugar. However, when I go back to eating sugary, high carb, or high sugar foods for breakfast, even though I eat protein and clean for the rest of the day, I find that I crave more sugar or sweets than usual.
