i have a model Y and it is really really hard to twist like the way you do. I end up using a T-20 screw driver to take off the base, twist the mirror on to the base and put it back. Way way way more easy to do. But thank you for sharing anyway.
3:21 The black plastic thread is actually a hanger for the cover that you were holding on the hand at the start of the video. The cover is supposed to be connected to the whole assembly by the plastic thing but it looks someone actually cut it off.
Thanks for the detailed video! That little broken plastic cable should be longer and hooks onto the rounded piece. There is a loop molded to the inside where it hooks onto. Probably the tint people broke the cable. All it does is keep the rounded cover from falling off. Most likely just ease of keeping parts together on the assembly line.
During the driving my model Y has a very annoying noise (vibration) that comes from the plastic support of the internal mirror, in particular when I drive on a not perfect road surface. Anyone has noticed the same problem? Any solution?
@@ItsBinhRepaired yep. Should be under your warranty. Thanks for making a video, got a rear view mirror issue to and it’s hanging off came across yours for help to see what I’m doing !
Sorry, I meant did you have to untwist the rear view mirror? Or could you have simply unscrewed it? What year Model Y do you have and what type of hardware? I’m about to take this in today.

Ahhh makes sense. It's so the people that work on it don't drop the piece in the car.
How do you know all this stuff? Laptops n cars now, youre a legend
I'm very observant and able to see how things fit together. :)

Maybe that plastic piece rattling
The plastic loose thing is broken. Just looking at my one it’s a piece that connects to the hook to the neck of the review mirror
Sounds like the tint people or tesla broke it :(

All the way out in Aus
@@michelmarie6949 Cool!
It is incredibly hard to twist the neck of the rearview camera on. Any tricks? Tips?
Make sure it's lined up right and pushed all the way in and then use your thumb for leverage like I mentioned in the video.
Did you have to twist off the rear view camera? Or could you just have simply unscrewed that bolt at 4:18 without unscrewing the rear view mirror?
You probably could just tighten that screw. I didn't try, so I'm not sure.

@@N.I.C.K. 2022. I'm not sure. You can try. If you unscrew it, the metal piece will likely be stuck to it.
I really have hard time to twist, just leave it like that for now 😔
:(
