For what it's worth, there is a day-1 firmware update for the V2 goggles that is waiting for the new DJI drone to release. Pre-testers are already using these firmwares, but any information about them is currently under NDA. The good news is, I can confirm that I was able to flash back to 0604 from my pre-release (post-0604) firmware. So if any important features are removed, it may be possible to restore them if you are willing to stay on older firmware. In fact, I kind of screwed myself over as there is currently no public way to flash from 0604 forward to the pre-release firmwares, so my v2 goggles were no longer usable with the un-released drone. Oops.
Hay man, nice to see you here, I am honoured. Been there before with prerelease firmware and DJI, care is always needed as a brick is only a click away sometimes lol. I'm not involved in beta testing or helping to admin the Official facebook groups now as I stepped away so won’t be involved in this release now or able to test these things my self until I’m actually able to buy it my self, god knowns when that will be in the UK sadly. It’s certainly not beyond the realms of possibility DJI would change something that affects FPV users intentionally or not so that's why I put the warning in. been there too many times in the passed with other products as DJI does not do a lot of looking backward and as I suspect we both know this is priority right now. I’m not saying the standalone FPV is obsolete or not being developed but for FPV users sitting where you are right now is a safe bet. The fact there is downgrade is good and thanks for confirming that. I’m really looking forward to your thoughts when this thing lands as I know you will give a good honest view from your perspective. This hack for the 1200mw will this work on the dji fpv drone? I live in the US. And this is my first fpv drone. Ive noticed I don't get the best signal around things. For others who are wondering like me. PSA: if your goggles are in 50mbps mode the amount of channels will go from 8 to 4 because you are using double the bandwidth (this video is made based on 25mbps). Great video mate, always come back here for a refresher course.
This guide works fine - thank you! Heads-up: As of February 2022, with a UK purchased set of DJI V2 goggles, registered and updated to the latest version of the software, the steps in this video work EXACTLY as described. I think users are naming their files incorrectly. The files written in notepad will automatically be given the extension .txt - your file names should be: naco (for the air unit/vista) naco_pwr (for the goggles) If you inadvertently name either or both the files with .txt in the title, it won't work. This might make some users automatically go down the route of rolling back to earlier versions of firmware, which can cause a degrade in functionality. The latest versions of the firmware work, no problem.
@@SantiagoVelezRestrepo Cheers! It's very easily over-looked. The rumour that the latest firmware somehow prevents this process from working is nonsense. The guide above (whilst long-winded) is exactly how to do it and works like a charm. If you want Betaflight OSD in the goggles AND more importantly - the system to operate in full power mode when the quad is armed - don't forget to open the relevant MSP port in Betaflight Confugurator for the UART that your Tx/Rx connections from Air unit/Vista and your flight controller are connected to. To do this, on the ports page, switch on MSP under the Configuration/MSP - no need to mess with the other drop downs. Joshua Bardwell has an excellent video on the subject: "DJI very short range? Your MSP connection might be why. In my case, on my Iflight Succex TwinG F7 4 in 1 stack, there's a plug onto the FC and it wasn't clear what UART it was connected to. Turns out, it was UART 2. :D

If you fly where there are obstructions, or if you intend to do very long range flights, you need the higher power settings. The down side to higher power settings is increased heat and battery consumption. My TBS module sucks the Tx battery at full power. So if I'm staying fairly close, I use the lower power settings.
After a break I always find myself back here for a refresher on setting up some part of my DJI gear to get the most out of it. For clarity you're hard to beat, mate. Cheers!
Hi, for me works perfectly fine. I use my DJI Air Unit (latest firmware) with DJI Goggles V2 (latest firmware) in the middle of Europe ;) I followed instruction - uploaded one file to air unit (it allowed 700mW), after that I uploaded second file to goggles - it allowed 1200mW. Next week will check how much difference will be between 25mW and 1200mW - my goal is to get higher quality behind obstruction. Best regards

Thanks for the vid. Quick note - the files still have to have .txt at the end of them. Your OS hides the .txt so it doesn't show, but if people have always show extensions turned on they will have to make sure to keep the .txt in their file name.

works great! just purchased v2 goggles a few days ago and what an upgrade over my budget analog set up. i mostly fly around the yard so 1200 mw i dont really need but its there when i need it. plus having more options than just 25 or 700 is nice too.
Thanks a million for this great video - really well explained. An FYI for Mac users out there - I struggled to get this working. I followed all the steps in the right order but no joy - however I was unmounting the Caddx Vista after installing the naco.txt file. This seemed to negate the process somehow. Once I installed the file and just pulled the USB out without unmounting it everything worked a treat. Not sure if that's a quirk of my particular Mac system but just in case that helps anyone struggling with a Mac. Thanks again!
i too couldnt get this working b/c of Mac but he mentions in the video its something to do with the Mac Text Editor so you have to download his TXT file from the description. That ended up working for me. First video explaining the Mac Issue with this hack.

Hi, Just a quick comment. One thing that I was struggling with is after doing everything correctly I could not figure out for the life of me why I was still getting only 4 Channels even though I was able to change the power to 1200mw. It was only after reading one of the comments from another of your subscribers that I found out that if my transmission rate is set to 50mbs the number of channels is reduces to half, which is what I was getting. It makes total sense, but if you’re not familiar with the system it is easy to miss. I was just wondering if it would be worth your while yo do a quick update to explain this! Just a thought!
I got my DJI goggles 2 and Nazqul Evoque and I'm loosing a signal in my goggles when the drone is only 100m away. I did try to do the FCC hack so I have more channels in my 10,20 and 40 MHz options but nothing changed with the range of my signal. Any idea how can I get rid of this issue? How can I get 1200mw in this goggles?
Important note for connecting the caddx vista. you need to power the viste BEFORE connecting to usb otherwise it wont show up as a drive. (at least that was my struggle some time ago)

FYI: DJI updated the v2 goggles firmware to 01.00.06.06 on 25th February 2021 (probably straight after this video!). As of December 2021, my new goggles came with 01.00.06.03 shipped and the option to upgrade to .04 or .06. I chose .04 and although my Nebula Vista was .06 out of the box, the "hack" worked and I have 1200mw option. Thanks.

Great vid, you always have very useful info… I have the V1 goggles and they are working great… I just got the V2 as a back up… I tried to register/update but the new DJI Assistant FPV series will not work with my either of my Mac’s… OSX El Capitan 10.11.6… or macOS Monterey 12.0.1… How do I update the V2 so I can use it… Does Windows have the same problem at this point? If not, I can use my neighbors computer. Thanks for your help in advance!!!
Question, it has been years since i did this to my original v2 goggles. But i recently bought a new pair of the same V2 goggles as a back up pair. But what i am wanting is the same functionality that i have on my current every day drivers which is the 1200mw hack. I dont want to turn these new ones on & update it the wrong way & not be able to have these abilities. I would prefer to have the same firmware on these to with dji getting banned i want to go ahead and have this done on the off chance i wont be able to due to the bann
got my stuff squared away but... sounds like tracer can go far, I can strip my vistas and push 1200mw, and probably go with a smaller camera if I break my hero 7.... :/ would be nice to get down to around 600grams kiss ready for long range - was a bummer when we started moving away from sessions.

Hi I have followed the procedure to switch to FCC several times, I see the power up to 1200mw in the menu, but I always have 3 channels if I switch to 50mbs mode. If instead I do 25mbps then I have 8 channels. Am I wrong something?
@@MadRC I was wondering why AndyRc was flying his planes on 25mbs and not 50mbs. Now I know! 25mbs did seem to work better for him and I saw very little loss when his plane was a good distance out he was staying at 25mbs at good range. I been using 50mbs for my planes and range is ok but drops for 50mbs to 10 to 18mbs or lower pretty quickly.

Hi,how do you turn down the mw power setting on the dji goggles v2 ? I need to turn all settings to the lowest output so as its not interfering with my friends analog signal
Great video but I have some thoughts and questions. If you can write to the internal storage of the CADDX, why not the DJI Air Unit? Do I have to permanently leave the SD card with the hack on it inside the air unit at all times now? Just mildly inconvenient considering I have multiple quads with the DJI air unit and not enough micro SD's. Same with the goggles, sheesh.
I believe the FCC hack no longer works on the Caddx Polar Air Units. I've done this hack before on Caddx Vistas but I just bought a Chinera 7 with the Polar unit and I cannot get 8 channels to work. The 1200mW mod still does work though .
I did this years ago with my old v1 googles but I just tried it with my v2 and o3 and it doesn’t work, my googles keep saying I need to format my sd card!!!! I have a feeling I need a faster sd card, v30 probably? Do you know if that is correct?!
i am in the us and i use my googles for quite a few drones with out issue but my dji fpv drone when i go back to fly that beast i now only have 2 channels available. i do not understand why?
not sure why but i can have either 4 channels but the 50mbs selected or 8 channels and 25mbs selected. but the quality is poor. not sure whats wrong upon take off I'm instantly at 16mbs even with the hacks
Amazing video my friend.Exactly what I was looking for. I did the upgrade just fine. My screen in the goggles shows the 50MBPS . However my transmission lost connection now. It binds and then 10 seconds later goes from green to red. Why is that? Please help . Assoon As I saw the 50MBPS I was so happy but I cannot do any test flights because it won't connect with my Dji remote now. 😢

I know that some times are gone.I do not have the options that you have in your google. there is no menu which I can choice anything remotly like your googles!!? do you know why is that? I do believe in that I have the version 2 thank you for any help for I really am lost right now. I have dont the hacks and noon of them works for me. Something very strange hapened to me thou. hello, I have already done everything explained in the video and it has not worked for me neither in the glasses nor in the cadxx view that could be I have the v2 and version 606, when I connect the drone to the lipo and turn on the googles it does not let me accessing the menu only gives me the image will they have any defect?
Is the range going to be the same regardless if you are 4 or 8 channels but are able to go upto 1200mW? Or for max range do we go the FCC route (8 channels) and 1200?
The video makes a lot of sense. There is a question about whether after unlocking FCC, do I need to keep the file on the SD card all the time or activate it once can open it permanently.

Can you take the SD card out of the goggles so you can use the DVR Function while also in “FCC” mode; or do you have to leave the SD card in at all times now?
I thought this would be a better place to ask my question about confirming that I really have 1200 MW. Does the OSD in the goggles says 1200 mw guarantee that's what the output is? Sometimes I feel like I'm not going very far on 1200 MW
hmm just did the hackss on my new v2's and a vista, i seem to only have up to 700mw, firmware 10606. anyway got the 50mbs can't wait to fly these goggles. ps. if you find the foam on the og's really uncomfortable try using a blunt edge to wear down the foam, 15 minutes rubbing back and forth across the forehead and cheeks improve the fit and comfort quite a bit

I did all you said in the video and thank you! one question.... why is it when I switch to 50mbs mode I loose all channels but the original 1,2,3, and public 8? For a moment it will show both channel 6 and channel 8 chosen at the same time. Then when I switch the channel i only get 1,2,3.

Hi. So I plugged my air unit in. I did as you said , but when I turn my goggles on and air unit It doesn’t show all 8 channels but it shows ch 8 public and I select that , is this still the same with the 1200 MW ?
I need help badly. Im in the US but when I'm in the goggle's setting mode it shows 8 channels under "Player" but in settings most of the options are greyed out including the power which is greyed out on 25
hello please help I live in Austria and I think the dji goggles knows where i live and I am not able to change any settings inside my glasses at all. Does the hack still work with the latest update? And do I just have to put the sd card in the goggles and its finished or does this unlock more settings in the goggles because the look in the goggles looks a way diffrent know with the latest update. @@uasflightops3410 Try different USB cord. Make sure you launch DJI FPV app, power on drone with Lipo, then plug in the vista.

Hello I have the DJI V2 mask I followed the hack well but I only have 4 channels.. but in my settings I can go up to 1200 wm. Does the hack still work? thank you for your return
Thanks! As of the end of December 2021, the latest/current DJI Air Unit firmware still accepts this hack.

Just a quick comment. One thing that I was struggling with is after doing everything correctly I could not figure out for the life of me why I was still getting only 4 Channels even though I was able to change the power to 1200mw.
It was only after reading one of the comments from another of your subscribers that I found out that if my transmission rate is set to 50mbs the number of channels is reduces to half, which is what I was getting. It makes total sense, but if you’re not familiar with the system it is easy to miss.
I was just wondering if it would be worth your while yo do a quick update to explain this! Just a thought!

I got my DJI goggles 2 and Nazqul Evoque and I'm loosing a signal in my goggles when the drone is only 100m away. I did try to do the FCC hack so I have more channels in my 10,20 and 40 MHz options but nothing changed with the range of my signal. Any idea how can I get rid of this issue? How can I get 1200mw in this goggles?

Important note for connecting the caddx vista. you need to power the viste BEFORE connecting to usb otherwise it wont show up as a drive. (at least that was my struggle some time ago)

FYI: DJI updated the v2 goggles firmware to 01.00.06.06 on 25th February 2021 (probably straight after this video!). As of December 2021, my new goggles came with 01.00.06.03 shipped and the option to upgrade to .04 or .06. I chose .04 and although my Nebula Vista was .06 out of the box, the "hack" worked and I have 1200mw option. Thanks.
Did you try if the hack works on 01.00.06.06? Because my Googles have that version and I can't seem to get it working.
Very informative but extremely long winded, it was a little frustrating to use as reference and ended up finding Oscar Liang's instructions which saved a lot of time,
Just got the system and making the switch. Coming from HDo2 it was a super hard decision. Everyone tells me I made the right one...hopefully the update bug is fixed by the time they come in

Great vid, you always have very useful info… I have the V1 goggles and they are working great… I just got the V2 as a back up… I tried to register/update but the new DJI Assistant FPV series will not work with my either of my Mac’s… OSX El Capitan 10.11.6… or macOS Monterey 12.0.1…
How do I update the V2 so I can use it… Does Windows have the same problem at this point? If not, I can use my neighbors computer. Thanks for your help in advance!!!

Question, it has been years since i did this to my original v2 goggles. But i recently bought a new pair of the same V2 goggles as a back up pair. But what i am wanting is the same functionality that i have on my current every day drivers which is the 1200mw hack. I dont want to turn these new ones on & update it the wrong way & not be able to have these abilities. I would prefer to have the same firmware on these to with dji getting banned i want to go ahead and have this done on the off chance i wont be able to due to the bann
got my stuff squared away but... sounds like tracer can go far, I can strip my vistas and push 1200mw, and probably go with a smaller camera if I break my hero 7.... :/ would be nice to get down to around 600grams kiss ready for long range - was a bummer when we started moving away from sessions.

Hi I have followed the procedure to switch to FCC several times, I see the power up to 1200mw in the menu, but I always have 3 channels if I switch to 50mbs mode. If instead I do 25mbps then I have 8 channels. Am I wrong something?
No that’s correct. 50Mbps mode has less channels as it’s using over double the bandwidth.

50 will give better overall image but 25 will be better range.

@@MadRC I was wondering why AndyRc was flying his planes on 25mbs and not 50mbs. Now I know! 25mbs did seem to work better for him and I saw very little loss when his plane was a good distance out he was staying at 25mbs at good range. I been using 50mbs for my planes and range is ok but drops for 50mbs to 10 to 18mbs or lower pretty quickly.

@@timcable when I switch back to 25mbps it goes back to 8 channels.
I’m in the US had no problems with my unit but for my VISTA. I have channels 1,2,3,8 but no channels 1-8?

Great video but I have some thoughts and questions. If you can write to the internal storage of the CADDX, why not the DJI Air Unit? Do I have to permanently leave the SD card with the hack on it inside the air unit at all times now? Just mildly inconvenient considering I have multiple quads with the DJI air unit and not enough micro SD's. Same with the goggles, sheesh.

I believe the FCC hack no longer works on the Caddx Polar Air Units. I've done this hack before on Caddx Vistas but I just bought a Chinera 7 with the Polar unit and I cannot get 8 channels to work. The 1200mW mod still does work though .

I did this years ago with my old v1 googles but I just tried it with my v2 and o3 and it doesn’t work, my googles keep saying I need to format my sd card!!!! I have a feeling I need a faster sd card, v30 probably? Do you know if that is correct?!

i am in the us and i use my googles for quite a few drones with out issue but my dji fpv drone when i go back to fly that beast i now only have 2 channels available. i do not understand why?
not sure why but i can have either 4 channels but the 50mbs selected or 8 channels and 25mbs selected. but the quality is poor. not sure whats wrong upon take off I'm instantly at 16mbs even with the hacks

Amazing video my friend.Exactly what I was looking for. I did the upgrade just fine. My screen in the goggles shows the 50MBPS . However my transmission lost connection now. It binds and then 10 seconds later goes from green to red. Why is that? Please help . Assoon As I saw the 50MBPS I was so happy but I cannot do any test flights because it won't connect with my Dji remote now. 😢
I would just reset and rebind everything.

After resetting I finally see 4 channels 4th one being public but assoon as I assign another channel , I lose controller signal on the Dji remote. light goes red. but the drone doesn't beep even though it is supposed to after signal lose. what am I doing wrong??

It remains as long as you don’t connect to assistant 2 for FPV. If you update the firmware you will need to do it again.
Really helpful, had to use a windows laptop to transfer the naco.txt to the air unit as my mac just point blank refused to make it happen.

I know that some times are gone.I do not have the options that you have in your google. there is no menu which I can choice anything remotly like your googles!!? do you know why is that? hello, I have already done everything explained in the video and it has not worked for me neither in the glasses nor in the cadxx view that could be I have the v2 and version 606, when I connect the drone to the lipo and turn on the googles it does not let me accessing the menu only gives me the image will they have any defect?

i got this to work on my caddx vista. it unlocks the 8 channels but still has 700 mW as the max. can the vista do 1200?
Is the range going to be the same regardless if you are 4 or 8 channels but are able to go upto 1200mW? Or for max range do we go the FCC route (8 channels) and 1200?
The video makes a lot of sense. There is a question about whether after unlocking FCC, do I need to keep the file on the SD card all the time or activate it once can open it permanently.
Once done it will remain unlocked unless you connect it to assistant 2

Yes both FCC and the power hacks all still work.

Can you take the SD card out of the goggles so you can use the DVR Function while also in “FCC” mode; or do you have to leave the SD card in at all times now?

I thought this would be a better place to ask my question about confirming that I really have 1200 MW. Does the OSD in the goggles says 1200 mw guarantee that's what the output is? Sometimes I feel like I'm not going very far on 1200 MW

hmm just did the hackss on my new v2's and a vista, i seem to only have up to 700mw, firmware 10606. anyway got the 50mbs can't wait to fly these goggles. ps. if you find the foam on the og's really uncomfortable try using a blunt edge to wear down the foam, 15 minutes rubbing back and forth across the forehead and cheeks improve the fit and comfort quite a bit

If you are a Mac user you can simply use TextEdit app, preinstalled with MacOS, to create .txt files exactly like Notepad on Windows
I found text edit did not worm for me. I had to download text+ app.
I did all you said in the video and thank you! one question.... why is it when I switch to 50mbs mode I loose all channels but the original 1,2,3, and public 8? For a moment it will show both channel 6 and channel 8 chosen at the same time. Then when I switch the channel i only get 1,2,3.

Hi. So I plugged my air unit in. I did as you said , but when I turn my goggles on and air unit It doesn’t show all 8 channels but it shows ch 8 public and I select that , is this still the same with the 1200 MW ?

I live in Austria and I think the dji goggles knows where i live and I am not able to change any settings inside my glasses at all. Does the hack still work with the latest update? And do I just have to put the sd card in the goggles and its finished or does this unlock more settings in the goggles because the look in the goggles looks a way diffrent know with the latest update.
