Thanks for watching! I’m launching a new travel vlog every week, so stay tuned. Travel Lord On Location is a new channel, so please SUBSCRIBE and turn on NOTIFICATIONS if you enjoy my content and want to see my travel adventures.
About this episode:
This episode is a Belgrade city tour. I walk through the streets of the Serbian capital city to show you the must-see attractions in Belgrade as well as some other interesting hidden gems. While exploring Belgrade, I take part in plenty of sightseeing. We’ll check out:
Terazije
Knez Mihailova Street
Kalemegdan Park
Belgrade Fortress
Ružića church
Nebojša Tower
Zemun or Zemun Town
Sibinjanin Janko Statue
Gardoš Tower
Monument to Stefan Nemanja
I also stop in Belgrade’s oldest Kafana, Znak Pitanja Kafana. Here I try out some local foods: Pohovani kačkavalj and Sarma od domaćeg kiselog kupusa. If you’re planning to add Belgrade to your travel itinerary, check out my Belgrade, Serbia vlog and get some ideas. I really enjoyed my time on this Belgrade walking tour and found it to be a much more colorful European capital than I previously thought.
About Beograd, Serbia:
Beograd, the vibrant capital of Serbia, boasts a rich history and a captivating culture that has left an indelible mark on the Balkans. Founded by the Celts in the 3rd century BC, it witnessed the rise and fall of empires, including the Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans, and Austro-Hungarians.
This historical tapestry is reflected in Beograd's architecture, where centuries-old fortresses stand alongside modern buildings. Kalemegdan Fortress, an iconic symbol, offers breathtaking views of the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers.
The city's cultural heritage is equally enthralling, with world-class museums, galleries, and theaters showcasing Serbian art and creativity. Belgrade's lively arts scene, music festivals, and theater productions make it a cultural epicenter in the region.
Today, Beograd's dynamic energy is evident in its thriving nightlife, eclectic cuisine, and warm hospitality. As a testament to its resilience and spirit, Belgrade continues to evolve while preserving its remarkable history and cultural roots. Explore this captivating city and immerse yourself in a blend of old-world charm and contemporary vibrancy.

While traveling leads to unique experiences, new knowledge and fun opportunities, an equal amount of mishaps, scams, problems and general weirdness comes with it.
I hope my travel vlog encourages people to leave their comfort zones, learn a bit about a country they've never heard of, read a book from an author whose name they can't pronounce and flip on a movie with subtitles. Join me on my travel adventures and partake in the cultural exploration, hidden gems and sightseeing that comes with it!

Your pronunciation of Serbian names and places is spot on, I'm pleasantly surprised.

04:14 Serbia isnt super cheap country anymore. Just before one year that dish in that local will cost you 4-5 us dollars. Now 7.7 us dollars. Inflation killing us.
A lot of countries in Eastern Europe were more expensive than I expected. But I’d say the dish was worth it haha
@@TravelLordOnLoc @ recently there was a large influx of Russians and Ukrainian migrants; many techie's with money, thus the price hikes! But that's only in Belgrade and Novi Sad; Serbia proper (south of Danube) is still very reasonable!
Good to know! I'm planning on checking out/making a vid in Nis soon
@@Brave2standalone That simple inst true. Prices goes up because of energy prices not because of Russians. Russians makes prices going up for apartments not for food. Enegry price+corruption(serbian govermant is 3rd the most corrupted in Europe, after rrussian and moldavian). Serbia is 7th the poorest country in Europe. Just before 20 years, before wars and bombing, our economy was ranked 10 position higher then now. 2 years after wars and bombing, 5 positions higher then now. Before 50 years, period 1970-1980 we are being equal to Italy, even France.
In Poland, the locals were also telling me that the prices have gone up much more since the war started

That's why you never trust a tourist with rosy glasses talk about the city. I believe you had amazing time in Belgrade, usually when you travel everything is great. Belgrade is 1.5 million city without subway, it's dysfunctional mess. Night life/music is highly influenced by Oriental vibes, you walk around Kalemegdan at night and you hear music like you're in Istanbul. You're in luck tho if you love cheap fun and cheap girls. Investors are trying to ruin even that beautiful Kalemegdan view. Old school or I don't know new school "citizens" not picking up after their pets, Dorcol is literally plastered with dog shit.
I agree with you! It’s impossible to really understand a city from a visit that lasts a few days or even a few weeks. But I also did enjoy it from my short time there!
