Alittle over a month ago I commented saying that I was going to take the test in a few days but due to something's coming up at the time I was unable to take the test when I originally scheduled it. But I didn't stop studying using this video once, twice even tree times a day so I know I wouldn't miss any details. Today I took the test and passed first try all thanks your incredible instructor and you guys at cdl college for putting out this video for others like me. I was nervous when I first started to study for this new move in my life but this video helped me tons on being confident and passing the exam with ease. The instructor that gave me my test told me that he's never seen anyone go over every detail as throughly as I did this morning. From the bottom of my heart I would like to say thank you again to Robert your instructor and everyone at cdl college. You guys have just helped me open the door to a great career. And for anyone reading this now and watching the video prepping for your pre trip. Make this video a priority to watch, study it like your life depends on it. But take it slow and you will pass...... trust me. Thanks again.
Chris! Great story. We love helping people like you and reading your comments. You're right, you just opened a door to a new future. Next step: buy your own truck (you'll make a lot more money). Stay safe out there, mister.
Great story, unfortunately I went into more detail than this video, described everything, and still failed. I'm out of Texas and am having a horrible time with this test. My instructor went on her phone for about 30 seconds during test. Didn't want to bring it up to the state department because those people do not care about anything.
Your tester should be suspended. If you inspect everything, you risk angering the tester AND you may run past the allotted time for the test. That would be bad. There is a logical flow to this inspection. Follow the flow and you should do fine. You're welcome to download our Class B Pre-Trip Study Guide from the link in the description. It's FREE.
The strange thing is, section 11 of the Texas cdl handbook is what I'm supposed to be referring to but it doesn't have all the items on it for the engine compartment and steering/suspension. My managers and trainers are amazed that I failed after I told them what I went over. Maybe I just caught someone on a bad day. I'm going to Fort Worth next week to retake. Forgot to add the joints and cotter key on steering during the test. Will be sure to slow down a little and make sure the examinor acknowledges what I'm reviewing. Chances are she had 100 other tests that day, she was doing standard driver tests as well.
Passed my Class B today in NJ because of this video. I went 1/4 of the way down the truck using Robert's terminology and the lady said "thats it, you passed lets go for a drive." Thanks a lot CDL College and Robert for the excellent video.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you Robert, your video has been very useful and has helped me to pass my cdl pre trip inspection test. I have watched this video NUMEROUS times and want to add my favorite part was when you yelled " I'm telling maintenance!" Thank You once again!
Studied this video last night. Re watched it this morning before my cdl class b pre inspection this morning. I PASSED!!!!!! Thnkyou Robert. Step by step on point. DMV instructor complimented me afterwards, saying his never had a person be so precise and knowing step by step without even going to school!!! Not bent not broken securely mounted! No visible leaks!!!!! Can't thank you enough!
I watched this video every day for 2 weeks and passed my pre-trip inspection test in Mississippi on the first try. The instructor asked me to explain how to do the air brake test instead of making me get in and do it. Towards the end of the inspection she said I had enough points and couldn't fail so we went to the skills test and road test. Thanks for making this video! Now I can help my neighbor deliver dirt and gravel on my days off.
I just got my CDL license and I have this video to thank. I have watched it over and over and over and it perfectly prepared me for my exam. Now I'm doing the Hollywood tours. so if this super-cool instructor is ever in Hollywood and you want a free tour please contact me. It's because of you that I passed.
Today I just past my cal class B road skills test I aced the air brake test and pre trip inside and outside inspection thanks to this video keep up the good work informing and educating us truckers good luck to anyone getting ready to take their cdl skills road test
big thanks to these guys i passed my CDL B road test a couple hours ago! took it in NY state just to let people know it varies they switch it up. i had to check under the hood and some others didn’t. i honestly watched this video at least 30 times no exaggeration. i named and made sure everything was intact and probably over used not bent broken or cracked and securely mounted that i barely got passed the drivers door before she told me just jump in! (what a relief!) anyway this video is definitely a big help. thanks again!
Robert Mow, you sir are a God among men! Thanks to your incisive, clear and concise video I passed my Class "A" test today. Your instructions were concise and clear and helped me sail through the pre-trip inspection with a 100% pass. Cheers, I owe you a beer, or two, or three, or..........
Apollo. I want to be Apollo. Send me a toga and a pair of sandals...and that beer. Pretty cool that you passed a Class A Pre-Trip by studying a Class B video. Thank you very much for your compliment, Simon, and for watching our video.
Robert (The instructor) is the man!!! Thank you so much CDL College for the informative video. Been practicing in accordance to this video and took and passed my CDL pre trip inspection and road test in NJ. I'm now a full time driver at my job. Thank you!
I used your video to teach myself the pre-trip inspection. When I got done the tester told me that was one of the best pre-trip inspections he had ever seen I missed nothing on the pre-trip. Hats off to you guys thank you for this video it was a great help
I've watched this video a million times and It helps me remember certain components for my Pre trip here at Job corps, I cant thank you enough for posting this video and helping us get through a CDL pre trip test.
Been watching this video non stop for the past few days getting ready to take my pre trip and road test. This guy is definitely a great teacher and is helping me understand a lot of key points without confusion. Anyone taking this test should definitely watch this to prep for it!
All I have to say is that you guy's are great, I watched this video every day for the past week while I was studying and passed. Thanks, Nitro. Allow us to return the compliment: the video and your commitment to learning was the key. Sounds like you killed it, brother. Well done. Now stay safe.
Passed my class B today with ease thanks to this video. Your inspection pattern from top to bottom and left to right was very helpful. As well as the repetitive "not bent, broken or cracked. Securely mounted". Thank you very much.
I want to thank yall...the in instructor is AWESOME, extremely thorough, but not preachy or heavy handed, perfect for a student who doesn't have a background in vehicles. I passed my Cdl c today. Will be working on B in the near future Thank you getting me confrontable enough to pass.
I watched this video quite a few times and learned Roberts method, terminology and the order in which he does the inspection and brake test. He has a great system, learn this video and these are the key components to cover, not more and not less. I just passed my CDL Class B skills test today on my first try here In Arizona. Thanks Robert and CDL College this video was great and I recommend it to anyone going for their Class B CDL.
Thank you Robert I been watching your videos for over 2 weeks and today I rented a truck and passed test I had a class b and took my restrictions out so now I can drive with air brakes thank you are a great instructor.
I watched this video about 12 times and I’ve pretty much memorized everything, plus on their website you can print a checklist out .. SUPER HELPFUL THANK YOU GUYS!!!!!
Just passed my class B test today. This video was a huge help in accomplishing that task. Your phrases and explanations were spot on. Thanks so much for the video. I will definitely recommend this video to anyone I know about to take their cdl.
THANK YOU CDL College more importantly Robert thank you, i took my road test today and PASSED. This video is GREAT!! just watching this over and over again really helped so much!
i took my test in June of 2018 on Long Island, NY and passed with the help of this video. i’d say this is the most thorough video out there and the most helpful. remember to take your time there is no rush. it took me about an hour to complete everything. he is definitely right about saying too much rather than too little. i spent so much time under the hood (where i was told to start) that when i got to the drivers door the instructor said ok that’s enough time to get in LOL i’d say the sooner you take the test the better. it’s only going to get more and more difficult as time goes on. all the old timers at my job didn’t have to do half the stuff you have to do nowadays !
CDL COLLEGE THANK YOU FOR PUTTING OUT THIS VIDEO FOR A CLASS B VEHICLE. JUST PASSED MY TEST THIS MORNING. THIS IS DEFINITELY THE BEST TRAINING VIDEO ON UA-cam!!! THANK YOU!!!!
So happy I found this video played it over and over Robert's instruction was spot on without opening a CDL book in months to watching this video a lot for two days to passing my class b pre-trip skills and road test with near 100%. i followed it directly as shown in the video and now have my Illinois class b license thank you Robert and the cdl college
I actually got my CDL B license a few weeks ago. I watched this video a lot. I can't stress enough to combine this video with a solid amount of driving time with a licensed passenger.
Wanted to make sure i commented on this AWESOME video. I have watched it many, many times. I took my road test today and passed. Robert is the MAN !!!!!!! Thank you so much and Godbless !!!!!!
I passed my driver's test because of this video. the instructor was impressed, he even told me no one passes the PTI the first time without having gone through the school. I highly recommend this video.
Very nice! We're about to produce a Class A PT video in case you want to study for that license in the future. Congratulations and thanks for watching.
Just took my class b Roadtest today in New York, and passed. I owe this all you guys here at CDL college this is by far the most helpful video on UA-cam and I highly recommend this to anyone trying to get their class B. I now have a career in driving and I couldn't be happier thanks to you guys! If you study the manual and watch this video multiple times you will pass!! "Take your time and be thorough"!! Thanks again!!
Taking my CDL - B Test tomorrow on our International tanker truck. Great video, very thorough and informative! Great job Robert! Many thanks from Crested Butte, CO!
Just wanted to thank you, Robert. You saved my ass with my Class B driving exam - I watched this video alone at least a dozen times. Couldn't have asked for a better video and explanation from you, Mr. Row. Take care - DZ
Dylan, you're the best. Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm overwhelmed by all of the positive comments from people around the USA. Thanks again, brother.
Im in michigan and studied off of this video. I too, took the road test very confident and passed first time around because of this instructors detailed information about each item. Thank you and good luck fellow commercial drivers!
Anthony Burkhalter I took mine at berts testing and training services in dearborn heights.. highly recommend berts! If your near that area. Very cool guys to test with. Good luck!
Used this method and passed my first go almost three years ago. First person in my company to do that in forty years. Now I am the full time trainer for my company and teach my student this same method. Haven’t had a failure yet. Very thorough and a great way of doing it, even in Ohio.
That's outstanding, Dakota! We've heard from some folks in OH who used this video to pass. We're very honored to learn that you use it as a training tool. Thank you very much and keep on teaching!
I've spent the last couple weeks watching this video. I watched it so much i started getting a headache from watching it. But thanks to that i was able to go over pretty much every detail, and manged to pass on my first try. Good job putting this video together, appreciate it.
The headache likely came from the - "not broken, not bent, not cracked, and securely mounted" Lol had a headache just after watching the first have, albeit still so important.
Just passed my Class B CDL Pre-Trip. Took me 5 tries but I finally got it. For everyone that has failed before, DON'T GIVE UP! Keep trying until you get it!
Got an up to date school bus pre trip??? That would be awesome. I went over a lot of the points that you mention here and I absolutely love how you tell us how to cover our own butts and to take our time. This is so essential from what I'm hearing from about every single person that's been tested too so...... yes, I am impressed. Thank you :-)
I want to give a big thanks to Robert and CDL College for this video. I passed my CDL exam and got my license today. I was nervous at first but after starting the pre-trip, and remembering Robert's phrases, I was feeding so much info to the tester that he was just pushing me along after, "Not bent, broken, or cracked. Securely mounted." My most sincere thanks again.
Yes! And if the part you are inspecting holds air or a fluid, tell the tester that you observe no leaks. Thank you for watching and commenting, Kassahun.
Like many other people that have commented, I watched this video many times to help me study. Not only did it help me pass my CDL test, I actually learned alot. Thank you for a great video.
+Joseph Grasso Your comment is very much appreciated and congratulations on passing your CDL Skills Test. We'll be shooting a Class A full pre-trip soon in the event you decide to grab a Class A license in the future. Thanks, again, Joseph.
This video is great just passed my exam today thanks to this video and this fuys great instructions...No dents no cracks no breaks and securely mounted repeated that and passed thanks dude👍
This video is very well done. I've had my class b for about three years now but my new job has airbrakes in their trucks and my old job did not. So now I have to go through this all over again just for the breaks. This is helping me remember it all. Thanks so much!
You're welcome, '55. The brake check is just 5 steps: Parking Brake and Service Brake (turn the engine OFF, turn the key ON) Leaks Low Air Warning and Pop-Out (safe start) Air Compressor Pfft...you've got this. Thank you for watching and commenting, brother.
Thanks for this thorough video. I have spent the last several years driving many different types of trucks through different careers, but now have to get my CDL to drive a bus with kids. This has been very helpful. Thanks again.
Hey just wanted to thank y’all for the video. Studied this video along with my state guidelines and passed on the first try. I had to get the Class B license because I’m a firefighter in Texas, however, I live in Louisiana. Thanks again Robert and cdl college!
thank you for ever posting. this helped me tremendously on my pretrip, and undoubtedly helped me get my cdl yesterday. i studied this video for 2 weeks.
Thanks for the great vid, glad I don't have to watch it on repeat anymore! One thing I would add is that in Maine you have to inspect the battery for corrosion
Just got my class b because of this video. The tester asked were I went school I told her cdl college on UA-cam😀 my family and I thank you for this video. Y'all should make DVD and sell it . Thanks from South Carolina
This place is the best. So glad I found them. Catered to the exact services I needed which was pre trip inspection which is what I was most concerned with. I also booked a skills class which I didn’t really need so they only charged me for 1/2 an hour. All family and all so very nice and encouraging throughout. Made the whole experience ver easy. Highly recommend them
I just wanted to thank you guys for this video too, I watched it twice and passed my CDL test on the first try so thank you very much for this vid! Robert is an excellent instructor and probably deserves a raise. lol
We talked it over with the boss. Robert is now making $375,000/year (+ tips!), thanks to your suggestion. Congratulations on passing and thank you for watching and commenting.
I am scheduled to take my road test tomorrow. I feel very confident that from this video I have learned what's needed and required to pass the test. Thank you so much for taking the time really explain in great detail. I will be happy to share the good news after I test tomorrow. Wish me luck...
Taking the test Thursday in gypsum and just like all these other guys are saying, I to memorized this I’d listen to this video every morning on my way to work instead of listening to music and I feel fairly confident that I’ll pass ,Thanks for the video it’s extremely helpful !
Hey CDL College and Instructor Robert, Im Billy from San Marcos Texas with Hays County Transportation Dept, i was learning the pre trip from this video and also from the CDL drivers handbook for Texas and i studied hard and kept watching this video, when it came to December 5th to do my On the road skills test, i passed my pre trip with nothing missing and no points taken off, Thanks very much Robert and CDL College i really do appreciate yall putting up a video to help others, Im only 23 yrs old and i feel that i have more open doors to my career life!! CDL/ROBERT - I'm in Dallas, TX with an upcoming ROAD TEST in 4 weeks, I've been watching your video's and studying the video's also. What's getting me is having to name or point to the different parts on the truck. I'm not no mechanic it's just so much to have to learn and remember once you get to the test. Any helpful suggestions ???
I PASSED!!!! Holy moly was that a relief. I missed a few things on the pre-trip: didn't mention any welds on the rims, or that the drive shaft was free of debris. My road-test went very well - instructor was pleasantly surprised with my clutch handling!
Needless to say thank you guys so much for the video - honestly would not have passed the pre-trip without your video. Start bobtail training on Monday!!
My bad. The Procter said only thing I could have done better was point out that the mirrors were adjusted to my position. Passed with flying colors! 🇺🇸

Best pre trip inspection video ever, I got my license Tuesday may 24, this video helped me pass the test. Thanks Robert, God bless you. "I'm telling maintenance" lol.
THANKS ALOT CDL COLLEGE YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME I PASSED MY TEST TODAY ON MY FIRST ATTEMPT THANK YOU!!! CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT HOW MUCH THIS VIDEO HELPED ME
Daniel: different trucks have different tolerances. 20-40 psi is used here in Colorado. California may be slightly different. Thank you for your comment, glad we could help. You should also check the California CDL Manual to be safe. DMV employees aren't exactly rocket surgeons...
this video is awesome! I passed my test because of the information that you shared here. everyone was great. from the owner to the students. a first class school. I recommend them to anyone who wants to drive CDL.

Scott Antolick im in NY too, Im watching this guy n memorizing now. He's excellent.
Scott Antolick did you have to go under the hood and check fluid levels?
shane michaels I didn't, you just have to identify all of your fluids and point to where the are. just how the video shows
Scott Antolick ok thanks, also did you chock your wheels at all?

About a week. Eric
Just wanted to thank you, Robert. You saved my ass with my Class B driving exam - I watched this video alone at least a dozen times. Couldn't have asked for a better video and explanation from you, Mr. Row. Take care - DZ

Got my class B CDL test this coming Monday. Can't explain how much this has helped me! Thanks for sharing!!
You bet, Kory. Thanks for the shout out.
Thank you so much Robert I got my class b a few months ago by watching this video many times. Best video on UA-cam.
That's a very nice compliment, Matt. Congratulations and thank you for watching our stuff. Be safe out there.
BeastSlayer14 good job
Got an up to date school bus pre trip??? That would be awesome.
I went over a lot of the points that you mention here and I absolutely love how you tell us how to cover our own butts and to take our time. This is so essential from what I'm hearing from about every single person that's been tested too so...... yes, I am impressed.
Thank you :-)
hi I followed your procedure on how to do a pre trip inspection and I passed..thank you .you were a great help.
We love to help! Congratulations, Jorge.
Joe! Welcome to the brotherhood and congratulations to you.
CDL College, LLC thank you!
love this word as you mentioned "Not bent, broken, or cracked. Securely mounted."
This is by far the BEST pretrip Inspection I have ever seen on the internet. This instructor just killed it. WELL DONE.
Taking the test next week. I've watched this ten times. I'm not so nervous about it now.

Today I Took My CDL “Class B” in Louisiana And I Passed On The First Try... Thanks To CDL College For Putting This Great Video Together..
Congratulations
This video is very well done. I've had my class b for about three years now but my new job has airbrakes in their trucks and my old job did not. So now I have to go through this all over again just for the breaks. This is helping me remember it all. Thanks so much!
You're welcome, '55.
The brake check is just 5 steps:
Parking Brake and Service Brake
(turn the engine OFF, turn the key ON)
Leaks
Low Air Warning and Pop-Out
(safe start)
Air Compressor
Pfft...you've got this.

Thanks for the great vid, glad I don't have to watch it on repeat anymore! One thing I would add is that in Maine you have to inspect the battery for corrosion

I also booked a skills class which I didn’t really need so they only charged me for 1/2 an hour. All family and all so very nice and encouraging throughout. Made the whole experience ver easy. Highly recommend them

Thank you for this great video. I took my class b test and passed today. The instructor told me I nailed my pre-trip with no issues.
thanks for answering my question
by the way I personally think that this is by far the best explanation of how to pass the test
CDL test tomorrow - this video made me so much more confident in how to approach the pre-trip; thank you very much guys!
You're welcome, Anthony. Follow that flow and you'll be fine.
CDL College LLC
I PASSED!!!! Holy moly was that a relief. I missed a few things on the pre-trip: didn't mention any welds on the rims, or that the drive shaft was free of debris. My road-test went very well - instructor was pleasantly surprised with my clutch handling!
Needless to say thank you guys so much for the video - honestly would not have passed the pre-trip without your video. Start bobtail training on Monday!!
That's awesome, Anthony.
You can never say enough! I'm taking my test tomorrow, will let y'all know how it goes. Thanks CDL College!!!
WELL?
My bad. The Procter said only thing I could have done better was point out that the mirrors were adjusted to my position. Passed with flying colors! 🇺🇸

THANKS ALOT CDL COLLEGE YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME I PASSED MY TEST TODAY ON MY FIRST ATTEMPT THANK YOU!!! CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT HOW MUCH THIS VIDEO HELPED ME
Outstanding! Our goal is to help you succeed. Do us a solid and tell anyone you know about our Class B video. Thanks, brother.
This video has been very helpful! We were told here in California by the DMV instructor that the psi is between 20-45, not 20-40.
What an excellent compliment, Floyd. Thank you do much for watching, learning, and commenting. Best of luck to you, brother.
