The reaction to 'Little Girl Gone' has been amazing, eye-opening, heart wrenching. I wanted to create a live version of this song which depicts the darker more sinister themes, as well as the strength behind it. Writing this song was liberation for me and I feel that every time I sing it. I wanted to strip away everything and show the vulnerability behind the empowerment. A different angle - the place it comes from. I hope this resonates with you and maybe offers help in some way to those who find strength in it.
I released this song / video entirely independently and funded it all myself. This video was made with so much love from all the people involved. Prof’s been doing this for the last couple of years. An amazingly original artist, leaning towards rap. And I adore him for it!! And I love that Ren has the same flavor in this area.

I'm genuinely sorry for only considering my female family for sharing your music with, because that's idiotic. Maybe I didn't want the male family to know part of my DV experience as intimately as this music conveys??
But haven't kept any gendered division in sharing with friends, so some glitch in my brain around family. I'll work it out.
This song helped me reframe an extremely unexpected unplanned event, where I went from recognising a past abuser at a party, and seeing him get up and walk towards me, to having him pinned on the ground, crying, in what felt like a millisecond. I was scared that hadn't made a "choice" but having talked about it more recently after first hearing this realised there was a choice
I didn't have an uncontrollably violent streak, I acted based on my extended knowledge of a dangerous individual, following police, courts, restraining orders, stalking and interstate pursuit.
Seeing the look of terror in his eyes, whilst "laughing it off" and trying to get the party host to kick me out was still worth it.
Having the party host, who I later found out had been close friends with the guy, say " _I don't know what you did, but I've known her almost 20yrs, this reaction from her means you're lower than scum, you get out and you lose my number_ "
But having to actually let go and unpin him from the ground was so fucking hard, like swimming through concrete.
I was strong enough though, and since that incident in 2016, a culmination of 4 years of hell, he has not made even one attempt at contact or harassment.
I understand my instincts better now, and why they can help my body act before my brain, and I feel safer to trust myself completely.

This is such an empowering song and this version really captures just how powerful it is. I am a survivor DV and I have felt weak and powerless against my abuser. I feel empowered not only by your song but by those inspired by it as well. The comments and stories shared because of what you created is beautiful. Thank you.

I have to say that if your goal was darker and more sinister - that piano arrangement gets the message across in spades. Just...damn. I always love your vocals, and I loved the lyrics from the first time I heard this. But something about that piano just makes the entire track sound so much more overwhelming.

First came the shock

And at last came the anger.
When the anger came it stayed. I knew it was damn time to fight for my justice for my right for my truth and mine only! It took me years but I won!
Never give up. Don't stop fighting women don't let em win. Drag them till they bleed.
I was fist fighting in the shower alone just wishing it would go away. I never felt so much anger. And still after listening to all the nonsense all these years, being victim shamed by everyone I finally won. It's sad and ironic that at least winning meant for me someone heard my story and believed me. Pathetic.
I feel this. The whole anger that stayed. It took a minute but when the anger hit over everything, it stayed. The sadness comes and goes. But the anger resonates inside me always now. Never again I stg. I will not put up with being broken down and mistreated ever again.
I KNOW it’s been said a million times or more, but I wish for one sec that you could enter my mind and find out the impact your words and music have helped me, carried me, lifted me up, and forced me to believe in myself when no one else does… This happens on a daily basis. You’ll never know how much your voice means to a stranger.
Your voice is so amazing. Aside from the fact that this song, in particular, has seemed to become an anthem for survivors, everywhere, I've listened to your other songs. Your range for an alto is amazing, and perfect controlled pitch. You have so much emotional power that breaks through your music. I am endlessly amazed with your work. This being almost a capella really spotlights your vocal talent. I wish great things for you!

Damn this went from Come At Me Fighting Anthem to Introspective (Fighting) Anthem. You're one of the few artists who can remake a song by adjusting its emotive standpoint whilst doing it live. Chinchilla you're an artists who is changing the music scene and I just know we'll still be hearing from you well into my 80s. I promise I'll still be listening to your music (it's only 33 years but still).
I heard 'Little Girl Gone' for the first time today. I have now listened to this on REPEAT at least 10 times in a row and I'm SURE I'm not done for the day.
There is a mental deep and then there is rage deep; the anger that we bury deep. I'm singing with you from DEEP inside. I see the faces of so many from my past flash in my mind. So many of those a-holes that made me doubt, that made me step away from my path, that made me lose myself, that lied and said "I love you" …
I have forwarded this to every single woman in my life (including my mother) so they can purge their buried rage along side me. Thank you - This is way more healing than a therapy session.

“Fingers” was found a few months later and helped me a lot
March 2023- my breakthrough- I actually married an actual narcissist- learning about o look at patterns and decoding everything is actual work to not let myself fall into the traps
Right after this breakthrough and I start seeing how horrible and sly it progress d over 16 years- the love bombing and gaslighting cycles- I was getting angry
He tried to tell me there was no hole in the wall- and I lost it- it was huge fist size - at my head level- my kid showed it to his best friend n the morning- it was in the Mp report- photo was used in his army hearing-
He didn’t say he didn’t punch the wall- he straight faced said- there was no hole on the all and I was a liar-
This is why I need this Anthem- I have to mental and emotionally get ready to read his last words- talk about him-
This song came out with the lyric video at the exact moment I needed it: and I took it to my women’s support group.
I love how many women have found this song and really make a connection- that we put in the work/ we have worth/ we take the power back/ step on me and try to mold me with that dictator/oppressive boot- nope I bottle that look- I like the taste for real- because my ex can’t handle that I am not a backing down- I do t feel him with my emotions and reactions anymore- he aHates it-
And I wish I could save it relish it as well- because that is huge for me after 16 years of always backing I’m up and backing down to him.
