I’ve heard somewhere that this is very much geared towards her previous label and is her debut as an independent artist. Puts a new spin on the “messed with the wrong bitch in the wrong era”
There's a TikTok where she says "Imagine sitting with your record label and management being told Not to release this because its "too left field" for audiences and then this happens" [getting into the charts etc] so she'd already written it. I guess the artist knows their audience better than the labels or management do..😁

@@markuss7249 They certainly do. A lot of the music across the ages had to DIY stuff, noone wanted to know.
Like Ren, Chinchilla is independent now. Up until recently she wasn't. She wasn't treated very well by the industry. And it really shows how poorly she was treated that she's finally getting the success she deserves now that she's broken away and is going at it independently. More people should have known who she was long ago. This song and another song Fingers are very much about her relationship with the industry. I'd recommend checking out Fingers Live for Hunger TV and Elements. And you were right, the scrabble board is song titles. Shadows is probably my favorite.
I’m not sure it was all a disaster, as I understand it she was the support act fir sting, on a recent tour.

It's rapidly becoming the anthem for the millions of people (women & men) who have been abused, degraded, put down, kept small etc. When her label & management told her not to release this as it's "too left field" for her audience i can only guess they have no comprehension of the millions of us there are who finally learnt to say "No More!" and those who still want to find that power within themselves.
Can i just mention Sam Thompkins has just released a beautiful song, raw and vulnerable that's barely even getting looked at by reactors right now which, given his voice -and kinship with Ren - feels out of odds, especially given his track "Lose It All" has just hit 10million streams... Great reaction! - I heard this is for anyone who has had to bite their tongue in the face of bullies ("you get off talking down to the little man"), music managers, and labels. FINGERS - LIVE HUNGER TV will blow you away for sure. Her EP Awakening has a great visualiser -" KNOW NO" and "ONE TIME" hit hard and ELEMENTS is awesome. 🔥
This is also a very powerful song of healing for all of us, men and women both, who are survivors of sexual assault. The first time I heard this song was as a result of shorts done by UA-camr CrazyCae. I fell in LOVE with this song! I not only survived SA at the age of 19, but I'm a survivor of domestic violence (at age 30), and will be a three year survivor of breast cancer as of November 3rd. This is our anthem, and we are coming into our power. If I could ever meet Chinchilla? I would hug her silly for writing and singing this song.
Fingers live is definitely an incredible experience and should definitely be the next stop. However, Terms and Conditions is one most people skip, but I find the lyrics in that one really clever and entertaining. I think you’d enjoy that one.

This was great man. My introduction to solo Chinchilla was "Elements" and "Terms and Conditions". Both great tracks with great videos to match. I was shocked and pleased to see how different her persona is from what we saw in the Ren videos.

The thing about the whispered lines "Little girl gone got a gun from a gangsta. Run little girl, run little girl, bang ha" is that she is impersonating the guy she is mad at, as if he were making fun of her like she's a baby. It is what makes the most sense to me since she follows it by a yell-singed "Say that again, I didn't quite hear ya"

It's another song that I guess you interpret through your own experience . Myself and my sister both saw it as taking power back over the step father who abused you (our own experience many years ago). The age of the man especially made us think that.

I’m sure others may have mentioned this but when you comment on her yelling but singing at the same time; it is the same style of technique that she uses in Chalk Outlines (just more softly rather than loudly). It’s like she speaking but with vocal notes included in it.
