Great review, best bike out there with out a doubt, I’ve been on one and it was amazing people going on about the vibrations through the bars, you hardly feel anything and you don’t even think about it because your loving the bike too much.. wow what a bike!!
i rode one last weekend for three days, i heard about vibrations but didn't really otice it that much, however the mirrors were not functional anymore above 100km/h due to vibrations
You certainly ride your test bikes properly, Chopsy. Lovely bike but the one you had before would be enough for me. This one has a remarkably tractable engine. Nice dash.
I tested the S one of these straight after testing the RR and found it more uncomfortable than the RR. Probably just me but those handlebars are just at position where it puts more strain on your back versus the full sportsbike position. Depends on the rider I guess. Great test Chopsy.
I've ridden both the '22 RR and this wekend the M1000R and i agree that the RR is much more comfortable. Dare I say the most comfortable supersport i've ridden so far.

Agree on the tyres. They don't feel grippy at all and they wear out so damn fast. I switched to Michellin Road 6's and they instantly feel grippy even when cold and already outlasted the Bridgestones by double and aren't even squaring yet.

100% bling, 0% functional on the street (unless you're running from the law because they won't do anything at legal speeds). I'm OK with them putting them on but hope they can be removed with mounts hidden in a way that doesn't look hideous.
On the track that motor is absolutely amazing (in the S1000RR), I do worry about having that motor on the street. When I finished a weekend at the track on the RR I recall thinking "there's no way I'd buy one for the street... I'd never be able to use it". But having the front come up on the front straight well into triple digits... mind bending. I would like to see a head to head vs. the SFv4s... especially handling and braking since the Duc uses the premium Ohlins/Brembo kit.
Yes Chopsy! I'll be replacing my 21' S1000R for the M at some point and i'll be getting the white msport colours too as ive already got lots of carbon. I dont like the sound of a hard seat, hard suspension, poor tyres and wide bars. I know they can be rectified but hmmmm, tough forking out a fortune and then rectifying. Top review....other reviewers have mentioned the buzzing as well.
i've ridden one, the front and rear suspension are adjustable in the menu though, just like the S1000R and other bikes have this button on the handlebars, but the M1000R has the suspension settings in the bike menu. It can be set so that it auto adjusts the suspension to the ride mode you select. The seat of the one I rode was the M-seat. it was pretty decent but not comfy after 4 to 5 hours of riding
Thanks for posting. I have the '21 RR. Installing end bars helped with the vibration a bit (specially with the lever guards installed) . Also, letting up a little bit on the handlebar grip makes a big difference. You can't always do that, but in a nice straight away, it does provide good relief. imho, ymmv. Great product by BMW. :)
Buzzing on the old nether regions! Ooh err! I'm buying one just for that 😉 Not a bike I'd ever be interested in owning but would love a blast on one. Great review 👍🏻
The HJR bar end mirrors that can be ordered through Dave Austin in the UK are really good and don't seem to have the vibration effects that the BMW ones do. They also look better. My 2021 S1000R Sports has been decat and dyno tuned. I put a radiator / oil guard, windshield on as extra mods. It's absolutely insane after the tune. No way I could ride one all day let alone even for a couple of hours. So I test rode a SDR 3.0 which I loved and then a Speed Triple 1200RS. Bought the Speedie as felt the SDR was just too mental for the roads whereas the Speed Triple RS felt lighter and a lot easier to turn and live with. Still love the 1290 SDR though. It had vibes but vibes you class as character not the annoying vibes you get from this BMW engine. Have ridden other in-line 4 engines and they have all been buttery smooth and vibe free. Don't know if BMW use balancer shafts in their engines or not? It might make their engines a little heavier, but worth it to make them a lot smoother and vibe free. But £20k for a bike that suffers from serious vibes and buzz is a deal breaker for me. Ridiculous. Don't care how fast or good it is. Pointless if they are so intrusive that they become uncomfortable or give medical conditions. BMW needs to up it's game.
Hi Chopsy. Just an update I had a two hour test ride last week, wow you were right it was nuts! I didn’t want to take it back. Surprisingly comfy. It was great to compare with your thoughts. Kelvin
I can’t wait to see a head to head with this! I’d like to see this against the Tuono as those are the two I am most likely to buy. Even though it’s an inline 4 does it still sound exciting? Awesome video as usual!
My mate took delivery of a non-competition pack one in april. He bought it just to spite our local dealership that sold him an S1000R two years ago and didn`t offer very good follow-up service. It`s pretty dumb but hey, atleast i have a chance to ride the M every now and then. I haven`t yet but i will once the novelty wears off for him🤩🤩
Current situation for my mates M1000R: After three limp mode episodes and one repair that didn`t fix the issue it`s now sat at the dealership waiting for a completly new wiring harness. All of it! I don`t know the english word for "Verdigris" but that`s what BMW Motorrad Norway seem to think it is. it`s very strange.
Think and s1000r sport comparison would be great mate. Recently bought one with the billet carbon pack m sport etc was £22700 . I was debating between that and the standard M which would have saved however no billet pegs carbon etc i would have to upgrade to comp pack but then carbon wheels etc i didnt want. Basically the M standard your riding would have been more about the engine for me and i also wanted the look so i did the S. Great review as always
Ducati feels quicker 1st and 2nd gears as it puts it all down, Ducati much more comfortable with more compliant suspension. Doesn't handle like this obviously
Hi Chops. Fab video as always brilliant review... looks mean as fk.... how would you compare this to the SDR Evo??? Getting all very silly with the hp figures on very crap roads. Has Gregg tried it yet???
Yeah it's silly fast and really too much as its more useable than the RR. But... for a easy comfortable track / road machine its brilliant. Superduke probably a more sensible road machine though with softer more comfortable suspension setup
Excellent review as usual sir. Gorgeous bit of engineering! What tires do you like for aggressive street use that gives decent wear? My current favorite is the S22.
Its a beast! I want to ride one, dont trust myself to own one, yea Spain- twisties im sold, where do i book, i can hear the excitement in Chopsys voice, you know its a BEAST!
OMG WHAT A BIKE, looking forward to this video :D And I got something spicy to drink (Singha Thai beer) It seems like we are on the same page Chopsy, this is how a naked should be and for me even sport touring bikes should be when it comes to riding position, it is def a bit more aggressive than the new Super Duke :) 16038 £ is the 2023 S1000R going for in Sweden with the normal stuff people always buy with it. That is the one most often being bought with cruise control. dynamic suspension, quickshifter and so on but not with any special wheels. One you add those forged wheels or lighter you are actually very close to the M1000R , I know what I would get out of those. For that insane kind of money I would prefer the brand new H2 SX though haha, would suit my riding more. 18:45 hahaha you are like a dog with a brand new rubber duck going to town for 1 min and then being alla exhuasted and catching your breath for a min then you are on it full throttle again haha :D I would not take a bike like this out that often, because I know I would not be able to ride it except if I stole it.
Great video, Chops. I’ve been waiting for you to ride this one. Q. You mentioned that you would change the tires; what alternative rubber would you suggest?

But £20k for a bike that suffers from serious vibes and buzz is a deal breaker for me. Ridiculous. Don't care how fast or good it is. Pointless if they are so intrusive that they become uncomfortable or give medical conditions. BMW needs to up it's game.
yea that selfy stick are terrable i got one little vibration and the fold back in had to get a proper insta but there thinner so mounts no good now
Yes very much so! It's no Tuono V4 though on the sound department 👍
Love my Tuono❤
I have an early model s1000r and that’s crazy fast so what this model must feel like … must be incredibly .. great vid as always chopsy 👊
For the 90% of riding mainly done on public roads the Bridgestone S22 rubber will work well... It also copes well with the odd track day.
Awesome f---ing Awesome chops
Absolute weapon. I’m not entirely sure I’d be able to behave myself for more than 5% of the time. 😅
What a weapon!😛 as always, great review!
Thanks Erik 👍
Think and s1000r sport comparison would be great mate. Recently bought one with the billet carbon pack m sport etc was £22700 . I was debating between that and the standard M which would have saved however no billet pegs carbon etc i would have to upgrade to comp pack but then carbon wheels etc i didnt want. Basically the M standard your riding would have been more about the engine for me and i also wanted the look so i did the S.
Great review as always
Corrrrr that bike looks mental
Wow! What a fantastic machine Chops. I think they do a carbon edition of this machine as well.
Love it.
Great review as always mate. 👏 😊
Yes that's gorgeous but 🤑🤑
🤣👍
Great editing 😂 Absolute Dream Bike🎉
Chops is on a roll with Incredible Content this month!!!! Please do a H2 video!! I need to hear that Super Charger chirp 🐣
Epic timing for an upload. 🙏👌🏻
I really like the bars so I bought set risoma moa15 for my bike..Good vid.. 😊
How does this compare in performance to the Ducati you rode last week, Chopsi? The Diavel?
Ducati feels quicker 1st and 2nd gears as it puts it all down, Ducati much more comfortable with more compliant suspension. Doesn't handle like this obviously
Another good review Lamb Chop
A dream bike
Maybe one day I'll have one lol 😂
Great vid as always Mr chops 👍
Thanks Michael 👍
What a bike butty😎😎
Tuono for life❤
when the XR arrive ? If there is any s1000xr M with this motor would be awsome...
Despite all the pros - for me, the "buzzing" at around 6'000 rpm (130 Km/h - motorway cruising speed) looks like a serious deal breaker...
Love your videos mate keep it up! I love my bikes my self as well my dream bike is a Ktm duke that’s what I’m saving up for at the moment! 🙏😇
Love the look of this
I would like to see how this bike compares to the Super Duke.
Excellent review as usual sir. Gorgeous bit of engineering! What tires do you like for aggressive street use that gives decent wear? My current favorite is the S22.
Yes do like an s21 or s22, also like the new Pirelli Diablo Corsa 4 I think it is.. could be 5 👍
Its a beast! I want to ride one, dont trust myself to own one, yea Spain- twisties im sold, where do i book, i can hear the excitement in Chopsys voice, you know its a BEAST!
Those wings 🫤
Entertaining and informative as always ! Just brought 2023 Tuono factory from Wheelsmotorcycles, its that v4 sountrack for me 😃
OMG those revs! 🙃😁
Nice bike! my pal has the Gen 2 and he loves it but that's a beast. Stable at high speed?
That van nearly took out your 360 camera😂
Wish bikes were affordable cant believe people are paying 600.00-800.00 for a toy. My 2016 bwm s1000r payment were 230.00. I'll be keeping it
Do you have the link to the selfie stick mounts as can’t find them on the website. Many thanks
What do you think about this vs streetfighter V4? Great content as always.
Extremely amazing,!
I'm riding a flashed gen2 S1R. I need this M model in my life!!! Beans on toast for the next 3 years to save money!! It will be worth it ;) lol
OMG WHAT A BIKE, looking forward to this video :D And I got something spicy to drink (Singha Thai beer)
It seems like we are on the same page Chopsy, this is how a naked should be and for me even sport touring bikes should be when it comes to riding position, it is def a bit more aggressive than the new Super Duke :)
16038 £ is the 2023 S1000R going for in Sweden with the normal stuff people always buy with it. 18:45 hahaha you are like a dog with a brand new rubber duck going to town for 1 min and then being alla exhuasted and catching your breath for a min then you are on it full throttle again haha :D
I would not take a bike like this out that often, because I know I would not be able to ride it except if I stole it.
Not quite in this league but chopping my 800xca in for a mt09 sp and can’t wait tbh
Question is: The M1000R or an Aprilia Tuono V4? Which one would you pick for a sunny drive?
Tuono❤
I love the BS RS11 I have them on my litre bike, but I live in Malta our climate is very warm, so that might be the reason.
Great video, Chops. I’ve been waiting for you to ride this one.
Q. You mentioned that you would change the tires; what alternative rubber would you suggest?
Bridgestone S22 or Pirelli Rosso Corsa fives, or supercorsa 👍 or dunlop Sportsmart TT. Or Michelin Cup series rubber
What slip-on is it please? It looks and sounds great.
It's the Pro-race GP-R1R 👍
Great review chopsy..❤slightly off topic .. I've just had my 2021 suzuki hayabusa annual service at crescent suzuki at 1700 miles and it says they have used semi synthetic engine oil?? Is that OK? 😮😮cheers
Lee
Also I’m the same as you with that last comment in the vid… can I actually behave my self and handle my self on such a big aggressive bike to weather I go buy it or not which is a super sensible thing to do even if we are hooligans 😂😂🤙🤙
Great review, thanks. This bike or the Super Duke evo?
This for me 👍
@@LambChopRides woooo :-) big wraps mate, considering how much you like the SD... I am very tempted...
Yeah absolutely and I do love the SD!
This bike or the Gen 4 Evo? ;) :D@@LambChopRides
Love the man maths. There will be one in the garage soon. 😂
Great review. BMW are the only manufacturer that would tempt me away from my love for Kawasaki. I'm on my second H2SX/SE but this bike keeps calling out to me
I was thinking to get the H2 cos it’s only 17 k brand new but I like this too , what’s the H2 like? I sat on one (H2) it was actually comfortable 🎉
@@Cartsp70 Hi Paul, I'm on the H2SX. You mean the ZH2? I personally found the ZH2 too firm whereas the SX version is a great all rounder, although you'll pay about 5k more for it. I'm tall and I felt like I was sitting perched on top of the naked bike. I feel comfortable on the faired bike (SX - SX/SE) and I really love everything it has to offer. Tons of power, but equally tons of touring and every day riding capability. Definitely test ride both before committing as I'm in my 50s now and have different wants from a bike as opposed to say even 10 years ago
@@screemin187 Yes that’s the one the ZH2 ( not the crazy 25K one ) the normal H2 without the fairing) The M1000 and H2 second hand are both around 16/17K price points but I’m thinking the M1000 will be too ott for the road , The H2 seems like a better road bike, I sat on one in the showroom it’s actually quite a dinky little bike but quite comfy, I definitely need to test ride it , the Supercharger sounds amazing too
I have a competition pack M1000 R which I am very pleased with, I thought about a Ducati Streetfighter ,a comparison would be good.
Wondering why they didn't upgrade from the Nissin
I had a S1000R - it was quite hard edged....this monster would be epic....ha!
Chops you are killing me,, might be to quick for me,, you have that H2 Kawasaki,, get a grip man,, Been looking forward to this review,,as it's the most exciting bike release this year,,, awesome watching 😁☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland,,u
Yeah but the H2 power isn't as accessible as this, that's the trouble here 😁
You are going to need a bigger garage 😉
My bottom continued to pucker every time Lamb Chop accelerated before his bike was pointing in the right direction. Led to the bike standing up early and him getting inches from going off road... several times.
