    "Hot" means there are hot grounds on that side or there is live voltage on the common side of the circuit. There is DC voltage also on the hot side. This is why it is recommended to use an isolation transformer to make measurements with an o-scope on the Hot side. When you hook up the ground lead of the o-scope you actually hook it up to the hot circuit common. Without the isolation transformer the possibility of cooking the o-scope exists not to mention the safety concerns of voltage going through the o-scope using the probe ground.

    Only one 16v 470uf had gone on the TV I have here now. The two 25v 1000uf by black heatsink had blown aswell. Most annoying. Easily repaired just time consuming I guess. I will replace all 16v 470uf and both 25v 1000uf. Just to be on the safe side

    Hum no powerlight on mine but cant see any blown cap. What else could be the prob.

    My Logic tv just won’t turn on today. It had been switching off an on now and then but today the red light just flashes 5 times when I try switch it on. Curry’s wanna charge me £95 just to look at it lol
