Did you point to your underarms?
Are you taking new clients?
Grateful for this: I really appreciate how you put it together ... you flagged up how to go straight to the exercise for anyone just needing to act quickly; you spoke quietly, calmly and succinctly, as if understanding that people tuning in might well be feeling very stressed and agitated (and not needing a delivery that was long, loud, physically- demonstrative and potentially triggering); you gave options, time and space for doing the different parts of the exercise - important for anyone who may not be able to hold a sitting-up position, or to go at the same speed as yourself or to produce a swallow, sigh or yawn to order. Lastly, you gave a very helpful recap summary to remind us of what we'd just done and why, along with gentle suggestions for how to proceed.
I will be following now.
I came here to hear because the chief cardiologist acted like she had no clue. Hmm
No words.............I suffer from cervical disk arthritis and can not turn my head, my range of motion is extremely limited to where I can no longer drive a car. I am speechless after doing this exercise ONE time I increased my range of motion exponentially with NO PAIN. Thank you and Bless you and yours.
Wow, thank you for sharing your experience! Glad it was helpful 😌 🙏🏼
I too found my neck that is usually very stiff and painful on the right side loosened up and was less painful. Amazing!
Amazing. Thank you for this free gift ❤
@@suerobinson1316 you're welcome 😊
My adult son also has this, and has excruciating headaches. He just wants meds, and is abusing us. I only let them stay here because their house is being remediated, still almost 3 years later.
I’m traumatized and so is my dog.
He has a very soothing calming voice, in addition to the helpful techniques
🙏🏻
Thank you, A H! A very flattering comment ☺️
I agree, very easy listening
I loved his voice and manner too. Thank you.
It really work. Thank you so much👌👌
Yeah, your voice is like a big hug
I don't suffer from any physical neck trauma, but my range of motion absolutely improved! I suffer from severe generalized anxiety/panic disorder, so I'm in fight/flight/freeze mode almost constantly. My mom has been encouraging me to explore my vagus nerve, and this was the first video I tried. Thank you-- you truly are a calming person.
Awe thank you for the kind words. Glad it was helpful! All the best 👍
You are lucky to have discovered this guy so quickly. I too have chronic anxiety and after years of trying , have finally found something that works.
@@CalmwithKyle THANX I just discovered Box breathing , breath in while moving eyes right , hold breath as eyes go down ( right side) breath out as eyes go across bottom , hold breath as you go up left side .Do Each movement 4 seconds , repeat for 3 mins or more . I Imagine you know this .
Amazing!!! It works for me, and I have chronic pain and stiffness.
I can't lift my left arm behind my head because of a frozen shoulder, stroke 1999, and bone-on-bone shoulder. What do you suggest? Thank you.
Hi Kyle, I was prepared to go down the medication road for my severe anxiety and depression but after scrolling through UA-cam to get patient reviews I found your channel
I tried the Vagus nerve reset exercises and went from having a horrible feeling in my stomach to feeling happy again.
Sleep has improved and my Dr is thrilled that I have had such a positive result… I am very grateful that you made these videos that help so much.. Thank you so much from Australia.. Tony
Wow, thanks so much for sharing your story, Tony. I'm so glad you've found them helpful and sounds like you're tapping into your body's natural healing abilities :)
I have IBS and have very very bad gas. I am bullied, ostracized, and have been physically assaulted because of my IBS. I live in a society that is shallow and judgmental. Many are ignorant about IBS. My co-workers and managers want me gone. I noticed that when I'm with family, my symptoms are less. That's because they understand and accept me for the way I am. That's when I realized that stress and anxiety really does have a big impact on my IBS. I've gotten so used to it that I didn't even realize I was anxious and stressed. Your calm non-judgmental voice and this small exercise made me feel relaxed. It really calmed be down and felt it in my gut.
O, for sure...IBS is nerves...stick with positive, understanding ppl.
I’m so sorry you are going through this. I had bad ibs when I was a teenager. Luckily I was able to keep the symptoms hidden but it filled me with anxiety.
Things aren’t perfect now. But usually better than it was then
I recommend tapping (emotional freedom). Say: "even tho others don't accept me as I am, I deeply and profoundly love myself." My best wishes to you!
im dealing with insomnia/anxiety./ depression ... this is the only thing that has helped me so quickly! thank you
You're welcome. Glad it was beneficial. 😊
Have tried yoga nidra? Hours and hours of it will heal all those symptoms.
Me too. I am over the moon.😊
Wow 😳 just WOW
Something so simple, yet it released so much stress, almost instantly.
I actually have tears running down my face right now because I don't think I've felt this much relief from neck tension or this much inner calmness in seriously about 20 years!!! (your voice definitely helped also)
Thank you so much. I will be doing this daily. ❤
Awe, thanks for commenting and sharing your experience. :) Wishing you the best!!
I suffer from ptsd, and your videos have had an huge impact on my mental health, helped me in releasing tension and relaxation. A heartwarming thanks to you kyle ❣️
Awe thank you for sharing. Wishing you the best in your healing journey 😊
I have PTSD as well. I cannot believe how much this helps.
@@teaacustardcream2868 what are your memories about? Do you remember what happened to you (your trauma) in the past? If not, you should first recognize What that is. That out of body or reality experience is called freeze or dissociation. It happens when the traumatized person gets triggered.
@@teaacustardcream2868 in my case, I freeze when I get triggered bcz I was sexually abused as a child. So whenever I talk to someone or confront a stranger or even a family member, I freeze sometimes.

this was crazy! I wasn't even tired and yawned so much. I was feeling anxious just in my body, even though my thoughts were fine. this helped immediately, thank you!!
You're welcome :)
Your presence is so kind and calming. I noticed a big difference in my neck mobility.
Thank you
Thank you, Lupe for the kind words. Glad it was helpful 😌
@@CalmwithKyle would it be bad to do this for longer than 30 seconds? Can I just do this all day?
@Creatural Shade the more we practice an exercise that engages our "safe and connected" part of our nervous system, the stronger it becomes. So lots of practice is great and many people do it several times daily. You may notice a plateau of effect if you're continuously in the calm state as opposed to doing this exercise when anxious, for example, then switching to the calming system.
Me too!
This worked so well my yawn happened quickly/automatically during the 2nd attempt of this exercise! I will try to incorporate this exercise daily/nightly from now on! *Truly Magical*
Very cool! Thanks for sharing.
WOWWWWW! Cervical spine issues from whiplash injuries and seeing a chiropractor once a week, and yet I just did this exercise ONE TIME and it freed the tension in my neck immediately. Thank you.
You're welcome 😊 so glad to hear it was helpful!!

@CalmwithKyle Really!!!! I am suffering from migraine and neck muscles issues and it aggravated since 2 days...but one time of this, actually opened up my neck muscles❤ Thankyou so so much. Blessings.
Am I making sense? Can this help in migraine if practiced consistently?
@yatisbaghelsengupta153 there's a possibility it could help!
I felt a difference not only in my neck mobility but also with my anxiety level I was at prior to and then after this exercise. Thanks so much for posting!
Hi Kyle! I'm an associate pediatric therapist and I'm learning about polyvagal theory to support my practice and the interventions I recommend to my patients; this was so helpful!! I particularly enjoyed the medical explanation/importance of metabolizing stress. Never heard it phrased that way and it makes so much sense! I took notes and can't wait to try this with my patients.
Awe, thank you and so glad this was helpful 😀
I'm 2 months pregnant and my mood swings are CRAZY right now, crying, raging, all that lol. This really helped put me in a calm state, not to mention i woke up with a sore neck and it feels SO much better now! Thank you!
I LOVE your handle. It's OK not to be okay. I wonder if that is the name of a book.
@randomvintagefilm273 awe thank you! I try to spread love where I can ❤️ but I'm gonna look that up now, sounds like it could be 😁

I stopped doing these exercises and I’m back I need this in my life! Thx you!
Awe, glad your back at it. Sometimes we fall out of routine, which is okay, and that can help us find our ways back to the new routine we want.
Wow, this video works also as a great unintended ASMR! Your voice is so calming, I feel relaxed just by listening to you... Subscribed!
Ahh! I'm glad you think so. I'll also be creating some meditation videos that will be coming soon!! 😊
Wow! I can't believe simply looking each way and yawning loosened up my neck that has been stiff for weeks!

Wow. Thatn was something. I've been having the most horrible neck and head pain the last two days. I could barely move my neck. This was awesome. Thank you.
You're welcome :) So glad it was helpful!!
Hi Kyle, I started the video without any knowledge about the Vagus nerve and a painful and stiff right neck and I am so amazed at how effective and powerful this simple exercise is! I would like to thank you from the deepest part of my heart, it's really helpful, and in case you need to hear it, you're amazing.
P.S. New subscriber here. Keep up the amazing work!
Awe, thank you for the kind & warm words. I'm glad you found it beneficial. More videos like this en-route!! :)
A friend shared this video with me today... I'm so glad they did! The exercise you shared was helpful by itself, but the effect of your calm voice and sense of humor can't be discounted!
Awe thanks for the kind comments ☺️
Thank you SO much for sharing this video. It was amazing seeing the difference after doing these exercises. This may not have been the goal, but I was very anxious and after doing your exercises, I actually started crying. I felt this release like I could come down and I was not only calmer, I felt I could also release that anxiety.
You're welcome 😊 that's amazing you had the experience. So glad it was helpful for you. Wishing you all the best!

🤭hahaha awesome :) and you bet!
Love your channel, I am a therapist and have shared a few of your videos with clients. However I am here to say that the laugh I got from the emoji pointing to the damp spot on you underarm is also highly therapeutic! I've watched the vid a few times and it still cracks me up. :)
Awe, thank you so much for your kind words, and hope it helps your clients too. Haha yes the damp armpit, agree with you, therapeutic and I laugh at it as well. When I was watching this video for the first time after recording and saw it, I was horrified at first and then couldn't help but laugh 😆
@@CalmwithKyle I think your choice of emoji face is what really makes it hilarious. Your videos are really easy to understand and follow, I appreciate you being a resource for folks dealing with trauma and anxiety. Hopefully my sharing with clients will get you some new subscribers.
@@kathrynparke1711 Fair enough :) And I really appreciate it. Hope you have a great week!
Thank you! After trying the exercise in this one video, I could move with less tension in my neck muscles. I've had lots of stress in my neck and shoulders after taking a bad fall a few months ago. What a relief. New daily regimine. ❤️
You're welcome 😊
Thank you so much! I didn't realize how much tension I was holding in my neck and shoulders!
Yay! Dr. Kyle
Now I keep yawning! Such a good and quick exercise. If you’re in panic focus on one item you can think about while doing this. Describe how it looks, it’s purpose, any funny comments. Whatever you’d like. Hopefully you will find calm with this combo ❤️
Thanks for the comment. That's a nice addition to it, thanks for sharing!!
Wow! I have generalized anxiety disorder. I have pain and very tight upper shoulders in the entire upper back, neck shoukders. This changed everything
I can’t believe how much better my neck feels after doing this just once. Thank you so much!
You bet 😊
WoW😳‼️
I never yawned, swallowed or sighed. But I was able to turn my head further once I gave up.
That sounds like it did the trick too!
I was in serious horse accident 8 years ago and my right shoulder was destroyed. It’s been replaced twice and is chronically painful. I’ve had some wild anxiety since that I did not have before. I am going to build this exercise routine into my day. I pray 🙏 it will remedy much of this twisted feeling. Thank you.
Wishing you the best 😊
I found this video and listened for the first time. I have been struggling with panic and anxiety the last several months. It wakes me up at night as my shoulder neck back and feet have a horrible burning sensation. I get it during the day. I can’t wait to start this everyday.
I had a post covid vaccination, migraine all day yesterday. It still lingered today but after going though this routine, it significantly reduced the worst of it. Your calming instructions and demeanor really helps beginners follow and benefit from this practice!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it :)
I came here after seeing on Reddit that this helps relieve patients experiencing pain & discomfort from long covid/vaccine injury (whatever it is, I'm just so grateful it helps)
wow! 😳 Was not expecting that much more mobility after the first try!
Thank you so much for speaking in a calm, measured voice. I'm healing myself from trauma and long covid and this kind of exercise is just what I need. Subscribed!
So glad it helped 😊 take good care!
This is wizardry 🙌 I did this excersize last night and again each morning and the shift in mobility on my right side was measurably better. Thank you for sharing Kyle
That's awesome to hear. Thanks for commenting 🙂
Thank you very much. I knew about this exercise but I think you explained it better and therefore it had way more impact for me. Especially adding the leaning back with the neck part, a relaxed state, really made a difference. And your voice is immense soothing, I noticed that half a second in this video :) thanks again and now to get to sleep 🌙
You're welcome :) And thank you very much for the kind words. Wishing you the best!
LOOKING LEFT GOT AN IMMEDIATE YAWN, AND IMPROVED MOTION. GOOD STUFF
Awesome!
Oh my god this is amazing

I can't believe the difference! Thank-you so much. This is an answer to my prayer to help my vagus nerve become more useful to my digestion. This is a wonderful start. My range of motion increased and I felt NO tightness or pain after the exercise! I am a dental hygienist and need this.
Awe, I'm so glad it was helpful, Cynthia. Keep at it! Thanks for the comment 😊
Such a calming voice!!!
Awe, thank you 😊
Wow, thank you!!!
I noticed that by moving my eyes, right or left, there was a time of adaptation with duplication of what I see on the right or on the left but then after a few seconds the vision normalizes; it's quite surprising and indeed the mobility of the heads is much better. Amazing exercise. 🙏
Ah, thanks Morgan! Our bodies are quite amazing.
Day 1. I just completed this exercise and also watch another video you’ve made on the vagus nerve exercise. I believe I saw this video for the 1st time and subscribe, yesterday? I am deciding to aim to do this once a day/night. I need to change my life. And this seems to be a perfect beginning. Of course other things are needed. But this is a new healthy habit I need to add. ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Awe so glad you found it beneficial and I wish you the best in your journey 😊
The first time I tried this sitting, my hands started buzzing with what felt like electricity, it was freaky. I moved to another place and it happened again. I just watched the video again and I was pulling too hard on my neck, looking up and to the side and straining. Going to try following instructions more closely and try it lying down. Thanks!
You're welcome, hope it goes better. You could also try a few of the different vagus nerve exercises on my channel if this one doesn't resonate with you. Best of luck!
this exercise made me randomly burst into tears lol

Thank you so much it helped to relax and and I have been using this exercise every time I feel anxious or need to calm down. Your soothing voice is very helpful too. Thank you for your videos, they are a great help💖😊
😊❤️ so happy it helps! More videos to come!
I'm super impressed with this. I have had chronic neck problems with limited range of motion and stiffness for years. I followed the protocol and it was about a minute after the exercise that I really started yawning and then I rechecked my ROM and its was at least 2cm improved from my initial recheck right after the exercise. Thanks for this and I will continue doing this daily routine
Awe you're welcome. I'm so glad to hear. Wishing you the best! 😊
That worked great, thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you so much Kyle...this helped me very quick when I felt a high level of anxiety and stress. My neckpain is gone and I feel so much more relaxed, calm and at peace. Your voice is so soothing and calming and this is a big help for relaxation. I will continue this practice on a daily basis now.
You're welcome, Tine. So glad it helped 😊
A very calming video - I found when moving my eyes to the left and right that within a few seconds it was difficult not to close them. I remember watching an hypnosis induction video which suggested moving the eyes upwards as far as possible and I found as now, them wanting to close. I'm fascinated how this movement of the eyes activates the vagus nerve.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks, sooo valuable!!!!! ❤️
This is my first video of yours. I was referred to your channel today by my counsellor. Thanks for this excercise. I did notice a little more mobility in my neck after performing it. I will try it at least once a day for a few days to see what happens with my overall anxiety levels, too :)
Glad it was beneficial. It definitely takes practice like any exercise. I personally do this before I sleep to calm my nervous system down and then I find it helps me fall asleep easier.
Hi Kyle! Do you have to look at something visible, or can it work in a very dark room? Also don't stress, we all sweat 🤣😅 thanks so much for sharing your time and knowledge!
Haha thanks for the kind words. I like to see it as quite humorous. And no, you do not need to look at something visible. It can work in a dark room.
this is great! thank you!
Yes yes thank you.
Hi Kyle, I had an interesting experience doing this exercise. When I looked to the right I started to feel calmer, and a sigh came easily after 30 seconds. When I looked to the left, my eyes immediately teared up. When testing afterwards for mobility in my neck, there wasn't much of a difference for me. But I felt like the tears released something, because I feel calmer now. It wasn't hard crying, just a few tears that dropped.
Has this happened for anyone else, or is it just me? 😀
This is not an uncommon experience. When our bodies are used to being in fight/flight mode or constantly in high stress environments, bringing our body into a state of calm can bring a mix of emotions. Thank you for sharing 😊
The first time I did it I teared up too!!!
@@squigglz97 Thank you for sharing your experience!
What means with “your body swallows sighs or yawns”? English is not my native language and when I translate word to word it doesn’t make sense. Help 😅
Oh, I meant at first, let your body either sigh, swallow or yawn when doing the right side. Then on the left side, let your body yawn, sigh or swallow naturally. Let me know if this translation makes sense when you translate it.
@@CalmwithKyle I understand it now! Thank you for explaining 🙌
felt good, thank you!
