    I used shampoo bottles and bought yeast from the baker in the chow hall. Apples ferment faster than oranges keep adding fruit and sugar to make it stronger

    Not enough room in the bag it would blow up and explode the bag over night. In california we make the kicker first in keefe rice bag using oranges, kool aide and jellys. Let it ferment then when its ready we put the kicker in big bag with apple juice from shaved down apples and 88 grams of lemon drops then the kicker kick starts the process and it turns to wine and eats the sugar.

    You're supposed to burp it every so often to release the gases that are built up from the fermentation and when it's time for the taste test you're supposed to use a clean sock to strain all the pulp and the mushed fruit from the alcohol awesome thank

    When I was a kid we made sultana wine and orange wine in school and then used a fractional distillation tube to distill it.
    I think if kids did it these days they'd get expelled or arrested. When we got caught we got an A in chemistry :)
    Nice video Dr Hans

      Nah not arrested. Maybe expelled depending on how the school district runs things. It's also probably up to the discretion of your principal or possibly the school board. You have to do something pretty bad to get kicked out of school completely or just cause constant trouble for the school to the point where they don't want to deal with you anymore. Usually at least in my case, you'll be sent to some kind of alternative disciplinary program. Typically off school grounds. The one I was sent to twice was called DAEP. Once for weed. So nah no jail. Just AEP and maybe a hefty fine.

    Cant you get botulism from dented cans as well the air pocket creates room for the spread of bacteria. Whats causes botulism and what happens of you get it ? Great video

      When there no need to be, people have been making wine like this since prehistoric times. Letting the natural yeast do its job it's healthier.

    Hello, if one started a week ago with a bag of mashed fruit and added a cup of brown sugar.. and its fermenting. obviously steps would have been missed. If someone were to continue the brew how would one go about it safely . I.e. should one boil it? Can one add fruit at that stage ? Hope all is well.. keep on brewing..

    • @mariarahim651
      @mariarahim651 5 місяців тому

      If its fermenting already its safe because it will start producing alcohol. It should smell alcoholic and be foamy and have no mold. You can boil after it done fermenting for 10 to 15 min.

    • @DrHansBrewery
      @DrHansBrewery  3 роки тому

      It doesn't work that way. It takes a lot of time to drive away the alcohol. A quick heat up won't drive much of.

    • @jamesbarrow9638
      @jamesbarrow9638 3 роки тому +1

      The minute he brought it up to boil....actually at 168 degrees fahrenheit the alcohol became vapor and left the brew. BUT he did kill off any germs or bacteria that could have made him sick making it safe to drink but no alcohol buzz.

    • @DrHansBrewery

      @@jamesbarrow9638 If it hadn´t leaked I would have done that. But with that said. It takes a lot of time to vapour of alcohol by heat. So with me just heating it up quickly not much alcohol will be lost.

      It wont drive of a lot of alcohol by a quick heat up. You would have to keep it hot for a long time to drive if the alcohol.
      It wasnt the plan to do it of course. But as the liquid had leaked out it felt safer as I anted to salvage it.

      That’s such a lie. alcohol evaporates easier than water dude.. that doesn’t make any sense , just like when you leave real wine exposed to air over time it becomes weaker because you don’t even have to boil alcohol for it to evaporate

    • @mariarahim651
      @mariarahim651 5 місяців тому

      Bro, you would have to boil it for hours for the alcohol to disappear. He heated it up to make it safer to drink and to sablize it and stop fermentation. Many wine makers do this step its called pasteraztion.

    I could probably make better and much easier. All I need is some juice a plastic bottle from lets say 2 liters of coca cola, electric wire or a hose, and a glass of water. Yeast would be great but you can use dark bread too. Pour juice in to coca cola bottle and add your dark bread in to get yeast unless you can get bakery yeast in prison then use that instead. If you use electric wire pull out cables from it to make a hose and clean it under water.. You need to make a hose or if you got a hose use that instead of electric cable. Now you drill a hole in bottle cap in a way so it is air tight when you push your hose through it. This will be your air vent. You stick your air vent/hose in to a glass of water in a way so that no air get insise the bottle but the excess CO2 get out in to a glass of water.. Let it brew. The longer the better but after 3-4 days you will have a very potent alcohol, and it will be full of yeast so if you drink it make sure you have a toilet nearby because you will get a running arse after drinking. If you can put it away for like 14 days it will be much safer to drink and even more potent, but who want to wait 14 days in the prison?

    • @mariarahim651
      @mariarahim651 5 місяців тому

      Didn't he say already you can not get yeast from bread thats a myth. Because bread is baked the yeast is kill of all the yeast is coming from the fruit so all u need is some fruit, sugar and time. However the bread can act as an yeast nutrients.

    20:29 I reported this, since you only casually (and flippantly) mention that people might get botulism from doing this. Clearly you know this is not a good idea, and you admit it's not a good idea to do this, but still do this, joking it away, clearly with no feeling of responsibility from potential damage to those that might not even know what botulism is, but only want to figure out a method to produce alcohol.... Personally I would feel less concerned by buying a big bottle of vodka to minors, then showing them how to do this stuff...

      I hear you. I don't do videos that are aimed for kids. This video where supposed to be for fun. It was released 1st July. I hoped that most people would realize that. A lot of people are using natural fermentation to ferment all sorts of food. The reason for me pasturising it was that it escaped the bag. It had been cases of botulism at prisons making prison hooch for sure. But it's extremely rare. Ok the flip end we have cultures that pre chewing fermentables...

    • @nat3199
      @nat3199 7 місяців тому

      botulism has been found only when this is made from potatoes, honey, or food from bulging cans. otherwise, there's plenty of stuff online kids can get into....would you rather him have said nothing? and why not worry about adults too? or maybe just be aware and involved in your kids' lives and teach them common sense? it's also not like he titled the video "super cool way to get drunk for free!" lmao or something like that, and he mentioned several times not to do it...kids also did the "tide pod challenge" and it's not because some adult made an educational video about what would happen if they ate them, lol----they did that all on their own. in other words if they're that stupid there's no saving them and nobody else is responsible.
