I have a theory of how one can split one's soul: murder, as it is explicitly stated in the books. However, I think there's another way. Snape was indirectly responsible for Lily and James's death, but as we all know Voldemort was the one who struck them down. Dumbledore also asks Snape about his soul, implying that Snape may have split his soul. Only difference is that Snape never made a Horcrux, and it is likely that he learned about them at some point, even if he never put the pieces together. In other words, someone could split their soul by being the reason behind a death, or not stopping it. Thoughts?
This is a very late answer but Snape was a death eater. He killed and harmed for the dark lord before switching sides. He wasnt innocent by any stretch but he felt remorse and therefore was able to repair his soul.
I'd like to read The Secrets of the Darkest Arts, horcruxes don't interest me though. It's a pity movies didn't show the original Voldemort's body after the horcruxes.
the movies also dont't show his body after the horcruxes, for what it seems the depiction of voldemort in the movies is more akin to when he was in the process and went asking for a job than of what he looked like in the books when he had done all of them
Maybe there's a spell that summons thestrals to do your bidding? How to make an Elder Wand? Become a master of death? Instead of avoiding it, just become the grim reaper!
One must remember that, when to riddle attended Hogwarts, albus Dumbledore was only a teacher. Armando dipet was the headmaster at the time and who knows how long that particular book had been there.
This particular dark side of magic is immensely fascinating, especially because we are given very little information throughout the books about it. Perhaps, while Riddle was already devoid of the ability to love, his soul splitting caused him to become not just less charming in looks, but also colder, more malicious, and essentially more villainous. Certainly his hunger for power and fear of death is a cautionary tale to us (the readers/viewers) as to why we should not sacrifice our souls for the sake of power and immortality--doing so only causes us to become slaves to power. And, as it should be pointed out, gaining immortality is not a guarantee of evading death forever; even immortals are subject to death. Voldemort experienced a fate worse than death, but even he was not "immortal" once all his horcruxes were destroyed. Great video on a very fascinating subject!

Thought: The first and second Wizarding war, and all the deaths was Merope’s fault. She’s the one that gave Tom Riddle Senior a love potion, gave birth to the being we now know as Lord Voldemort.
I think Tom and Herpo actually weren't the only ones. I believe Owle Bullock did just to experiment with it, but destroyed it almost immediately for the same reason. I also believe Loxias, a former master of the Elder Wand, might have, hence the confusion on whether Arcus or Livius killed him. That confusion could be accounted for if he had a Horcrux and it spawned another one of him, as Tom's diary almost did at the expense of Ginny's life. However, I do believe Owle and Loxias would've only created one, and I also find it highly unlikely that they're still out there somewhere (which Herpo might be, if his was never found/destroyed). Video suggestions: --What if Bellatrix Lestrange survived? (in other words, if she managed to kill Molly Weasley that time) --What if Grindelwald broke free following the Battle of the Department of Mysteries? (on his own) --What if Lord Voldemort killed Harry Potter in the graveyard? Pt. 2 (like, how the Second Wizarding War would've changed) --What if Sirius Black killed Peter Pettigrew? Pt. 2 (like, how would the Horcrux hunt have changed, and when would it be) --Who is the current master of the Elder Wand? (Delphini disarmed Harry, but Hermione, Draco, Ron, Ginny, and Scorpius finished her off all at once)
@@anitacrumblyyou dont have to consider it canon. The author establishes canon regardless of peoples feelings and she wrote it as a canon story so its canon. People seem to think everything is up for debate nowadays lol
The video suggestion for who is master of elder Wand now would be hard to guess. There could be two possibilities by the time of the curse child. Theory 1 - I'm guessing harry would have, working as a aura for the ministry, atleast been disarmed at some point in the 19 years leading upto the cursed child, making that person the master, so they will even be in azkaban now, dead or free on the streets and probz been beaten by someone else in some way by now and so on and so on, making it harder and harder to trace. Or 2nd theory - the elder Wand seeks the stronger opponent in a duel and will only win the duel against a weaker opponent in order to gain a stronger master, even if it's current master is the weakest wizard (seeking the master of death is the purpose of the wand) so if harry is the strongest Wizard of the age thn it will stay with him until his death, ending the elder Wand as it has no master. But either way harry through the Wand where no one will find it (or snapped it depending on book vs film) so there can actually be no master without a Wand, it just hopefully layed dormant at the bottom of the cliffs of hogwarts forever, if not and was discovered sometime in future it should thn work as it did for voldermort, as any other Wand would work for him but not perform extraordinary magic but that's only if the death stick would choose to let them weild it
Harry broke the Elder Wand right after he used it to fix his original wand. He is and will always be the true master of it and it’s power will die with him
BK718 hahah yeah but imagine if he just made it out of a Galleon and everyone was just getting so mad and nobody knew why and Voldemort was just laughing at them all 😂😂
Phoebe Teasdale Because of his pride? He used 3 of extremely powerful magic items made by some of most powerful wizards ever, a ring holding an item(tho probably known by him) told to be made by death itself.
Hender’s comment is the most accurate. It would be logical to conceal a fragment of his soul in a mundane and unrecognisable object but he was conceited and valued powerful artefacts. Only a parselmouth could open Slytherin’s locket (why would they bother?) making it very strong. I also think that he’d like to be able to recognise his horcruxes, he might want to check on them or move their location and trace them.
The horcruxes he made were carefully chosen, well hidden and even the fact that he had them in the first place was a very well conceiled secret. Yes, he could've chosen more mundane things, but he chose those artifacts because of their (magical) longevity and the fact that time and nobody, who would stumble upon them randomly would destroy them. You need to know that these artifacts are horcruxes in the first place, you need to find them and you need very special means to destroy them.
He could’ve found the book in the chamber of secrets. Since it was “slytherins office”, every office usually has a bookshelf or two. Also, it could have been jinxed pages inside that book that only parsletongues could gain access to. Just a theory! Love the channel man!
5:25. This is why in Harry Potter and the deathly hallows, Harry specifically asks him to show remorse, or some guilt. Even after all voldemort had done, To Harry and his friends and many others, he did not believe that he should suffer. It’s quite obvious that Voldemort showed no remorse or guilt of his killings. He wasn’t capable of such feeling and that’s because he thought those feelings were useless or for the weak.
It's pretty crazy that Voldemort doesn't even have 1% soul in his original body. (The percentage represent how much of his soul is in the object.) Tom's Diary: 50% Marvolo Gaunt's Ring: 25% Salazar Slytherin's Locket: 12.5% Helga Hufflepuff's Cup: 6.25% Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem: 3.125% Harry: 1.5625 % Nagini: 0.78125 % Voldemort: 0.390625 % It's weird that Harry is more Voldemort than Voldemort.
i believe he was Tom Riddle and human when he made the Horcruxes, but was not truly Voldemort until he transformed. he was just creating and making the Horcruxes at the time and was still Tom Riddle, he wasn't yet "that" which he became until he fully transformed into the bald head, snake-like features Voldemort had.
not really. he was still Tom Riddle. he may have just changed his name at that point, but was still Tom at that time. it was when he was in the early stages of becoming Voldemort that he was transforming into Voldemort. Once it was completed, then he became Voldemort, he became his name.
I thought Dumbledore made one, but I think it would have been undone for the remorse of his sister. Which would explain his deep kindness, having forgiven himself.

Was the dark lord and his followers aware of the danger of obscurials ? Would like to get an insight into how they would manage the problem if in power.
There should be a new concept of showing how someone failed to make a horcrux. They would have to hold on to the item that they tried to place a portion of their soul in, to remain in the realm of the living.

The spell on the ring was one that would kill him anyway. Snape was able to confine it for a time to that hand but he couldn’t stop by forever. In the end it would kill Dumbledore
When Tom riddle asked professor slug horn about Horcruxs he has already made one ( the ring) , he only asked him about the idea of splitting it 7 times

Not saying she didn't have a plan, but inconsistent spell usage is a big red flag
I cannot find any videos on this, maybe you can help...: In the end was there only 1,5625% of Tom left in Voldemort, or 14,2857%? Depending on how he split his soul seven times... I think it only makes sense if 1,56, because he didnt split his soul seven times at once, but over time... so second time he split it, it went from 50% to 25%, and then from 25% to 12,5% ect.... Does it make sense or is there something I'm not understanding? As always, thanks for great video content!
Yes, I do believe that Voldy was truly born on the creation of his first Horcrux. As for your second question of was there anyone who created one other than the two known I think the answer is very much yes. I think that Riddle approached Slughorn because Slughorn had researched it himself to either create one himself or to battle one who had successfully done so. Otherwise, how would Riddle know to talk to Slughorn... A potions master... About the darkest of the Dark Arts. Slughorn was just a teacher of potions so what prompted Riddle to talk specifically to him?
Wow! I never thought about that! I don't think Horace Slughorn ever would've created one himself, but perhaps he battled someone who did. Maybe even someone in his family; "Slughorn" was one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, and Horace's parents were pure-blood supremacists from a family that enjoyed grandeur.
The more I think about souls and horcruxes, the more questions I have. 1. Since murder splits your soul, what normally happens to the soul fragment? Does it stay in your body for a time? Does it drift away to go to limbo? 2. If you murder 9 people in a row, or at the same time, do you then have 9 fragments floating around, plus one still inside you? 3. Shouldn't Voldemort have lots of soul fragments, albeit most of them in limbo (or wherever soul fragments go), since he surely murdered far more than 7 people? 4. So the fragment still inside Voldemort would be quite tiny by the time book 7 comes around? 5. How is it that Harry became an unintended horcrux? Since creating one requires intent and extremely dark magic. 6. Seems to me there could be other unintended horcruxes out there, right?
Given that Dumbledore wasn't headmaster during Tom Riddle's attendance, he would've had no control over which books were in the school. Armando Dippet was headmaster and we are lead to believe he was rather incompetent. I suspect your theory of the book being slipped into the school is most likely, though it could've been mistakenly considered as part of the educational tools by an incompetent.
A new book called 'A Legend of Firdous' is available to purchase and buy now and is set to rival the HP series. Check it out. It's been awarded FIVE STARS by The Scotsman.
I always figured Dumbledore kept the books about horcruxes around because he was curious about how Voldemort got immortality and in his earlier life he was fascinated by dark arts
I've always been thinking. Can't you split your already split soul into multiple pieces? That way, you still retain half of it inside of you, at all times.
I would love to read a tome on the history of magic, ancient magic. Just think about the possibilities if Tom Riddle had been interested more in advancing Wizardkind through good than obsessed with immortality and power? I read somewhere (Pottermore?) that there were much more powerful wizards centuries ago than the today of Harry Potter. The founders of Hogwarts for example, or Ekrizdis (dementors/Azkaban), or the Peverell brothers, or even Nicholas Flamel. I don't think Dumbledore, as powerful as he was, ever reached the power of the ancients. Perhaps because the Ministry forbids much knowledge or even experimentation. Many magical creatures were the work of ancient wizards breeding experiments and that is now outlawed. Another thing Hagrid did that should have landed him in Azkaban.
I think a lot of people don't realize, and maybe completely unintended on Rowlings part, but Tom Riddle grew up in an orphanage in London, during the london blitz. Thoughts?
So interesting! Where in the books is this question you wrote about?

For Voldemort and Valor
What if what if what if WHAT IIIIFFFFF Tom Riddle lied about finding the book in the library's restricted section but actually found it in the Room of Requirement?
Tom Riddle created his first Horcrux before he talked to Slughorn about creating more than one.
I think Tom knew everything when he talked to Slughorn. He was not seeking information. He was seeking a follower.
@@johnjohnsten4158 I think he was after information. After all he had made one but as we know he wanted some idea of what would happen to someone who made more than just one before he went ahead and risked it.
Actually voldemort had made 2 by the time he talked 2 slughorn the diary & the ring he killed moaning myrtle & that summer following the school term he killed his family then came back 2 hogwarts & talked 2 slughorn & im sure he was after information cuz remember he wanted 2 use the diary as a weapon 2 reopen the chamber of secrets but had 2 make sure his bases could b safely covered b4 he put his horcrux n harms way
Gorilla Face he did
@@johnjohnsten4158 he was seeking information on what was the limit per se, he probably had 2 already by then, but he wanted to know how many more he could do "safely"
Great video dude!
Video suggestions:
--What if Bellatrix Lestrange survived? (in other words, if she managed to kill Molly Weasley that time)
--What if Grindelwald broke free following the Battle of the Department of Mysteries? (on his own)
--What if Lord Voldemort killed Harry Potter in the graveyard? Pt. 2 (like, how the Second Wizarding War would've changed)
--What if Sirius Black killed Peter Pettigrew? Pt. 2 (like, how would the Horcrux hunt have changed, and when would it be)
--Who is the current master of the Elder Wand? (Delphini disarmed Harry, but Hermione, Draco, Ron, Ginny, and Scorpius finished her off all at once)
Cursed child is rubbish and most dont consider it canon so harry is still the master of the elder wand
He is and will always be the true master of it and it’s power will die with him
Why didn’t he just make his Horxrux out of a penny, they’re literally indestructible and could never be tracked 😂😂
Phoebe Teasdale Lmao but Dark Magic leaves traces.
Love this channel so much.

It's pretty crazy that Voldemort doesn't even have 1% soul in his original body.
(The percentage represent how much of his soul is in the object.)
Tom's Diary: 50%
Marvolo Gaunt's Ring: 25%
Salazar Slytherin's Locket: 12.5%
Helga Hufflepuff's Cup: 6.25%
Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem: 3.125%
Harry: 1.5625
%
Nagini: 0.78125
%
Voldemort: 0.390625
%
It's weird that Harry is more Voldemort than Voldemort.
im surprised Voldemort could feel any emotion whatsoever with how little soul he had left after making all those horcruxes
@@funnybunny1648- Voldemort couldn't feel emotions because he was conceived under a love potion.

Great video Dean!Love it!
i believe he was Tom Riddle and human when he made the Horcruxes, but was not truly Voldemort until he transformed. he was just creating and making the Horcruxes at the time and was still Tom Riddle, he wasn't yet "that" which he became until he fully transformed into the bald head, snake-like features Voldemort had.
I disagree. Tom became Voldemort when he changed his name.
Millie Gacha he changed his name to voldemort when he was at school didn’t he? But only a group of slytherin “friends” knew
not really. he was still Tom Riddle. he may have just changed his name at that point, but was still Tom at that time. it was when he was in the early stages of becoming Voldemort that he was transforming into Voldemort. Once it was completed, then he became Voldemort, he became his name.
I thought Dumbledore made one, but I think it would have been undone for the remorse of his sister.
Which would explain his deep kindness, having forgiven himself.
Some say that in order to create a horcrux is not just by committing murder but performing cannibalism, consuming your know killed victom. Jk rowling even said that it is too horrible to say how a horcrux is made which led others to think this.. your videos are awesome and i cant wait for more to come
It's more energy base and there is always positive and negative magic we have it the emotions are one way of magic but the dark arts can't be mess with
Something more sinister than male pattern baldness happened to Tom Riddle :o
😂
It's Sociopathy (the Hollywood version) and not maturity that Tom Riddle displays. It's evident from his days in the orphanage. Tom is a deeply disturbed individual; who clearly needed treatment; and not magical training.
Thank you Dean!! ❤️ Great video.🙂🤗
How did get away with killing all these people . Everytime Harry use magic outside of hogwarts they know within 5 mins.
To suggest Albus Dumbledore wouldn't know the books in his library is a bit silly the man knows everything!
I’ve been on a roll lately revisiting my past obsessions from Harry Potter to H2O just add water to Avatar ; the last air bender . I’ve enjoyed diving into these worlds and stories I still love so much , they’re very special to me ❤️😝

voldemort could’ve made his horcrux a grain of sand and have nobody find it but he wanted to be fancy and shit lol
while watching this i realize that since horcruxs have been revealed it kinda makes the whole original sorcerers stone quest somewhat redundant
Awesome video!!!

one note, in the hp books dumbledore states that tom riddle already made a horcrux when he talked to slughorn. He was talking to him to find out if you could make more than one...
It's sad..I wish there was someone to guide Tom... He ended up miserable
Voldemort was truly born when he committed his first murder of his grandfather, grandmother and his father
And then J.K.R. drops a bombshell in the next interview and says "Ey, my initials are JK...." and hopes we understand the vague hint that it was all a joke.
Just as usual........... Awesome video Dean..... Loved it........ Waiting for more...
Nice video! I’m not allowed to read Harry Potter for the weeks coming up to my exams, because it distracts me. It keeps me kind of “updated” while watching these videos. Keep doing what you do.
If he really wanted no one to be able to find it just take a rock, turn it into a horcrux, throw it into the ocean
Pride and arrogance. He wanted his soul to be in special objects.
Love your videos
Why Albus didn't cut out his hand and replaced it within a magical one like Peter Petegrew?
What's the Muggle PM connection with the Minister of Magic?
If Rufus was the third runner up instead of Fugue?
The spell on the ring was one that would kill him anyway. Snape was able to confine it for a time to that hand but he couldn’t stop by forever. In the end it would kill Dumbledore
Why not confine it to a hand and cut off the hand so it won’t spread
Probably the act of severing the hand allows for the curse to move quickly through the wound or something
Ur awesome bro good work
When Tom riddle asked professor slug
horn about Horcruxs he has already made one ( the ring) , he only asked him about the idea of splitting it 7 times
Very interesting topic, great choice!

No matter Rowling excuses it doesn't make sense when you look at the books with knowledge of them all, so many spells that no one seems to use until later make it very obvious she made a lot of stuff up as she went along. Not saying she didn't have a plan, but inconsistent spell usage is a big red flag
I am not sure about the horcrux turning him into voldy, but wasn't he going by lord voldy by the time he was in his 6th year?
I think by “transition into Voldemort” he means in terms of appearance, not by name.
Im reading the half blood right naw and im at this spot where harry and dombie just saw Slughorns messed up memory lol great work dean keep it up
I cannot find any videos on this, maybe you can help...:
In the end was there only 1,5625% of Tom left in Voldemort, or 14,2857%?
Depending on how he split his soul seven times... I think it only makes sense if 1,56, because he didnt split his soul seven times at once, but over time... so second time he split it, it went from 50% to 25%, and then from 25% to 12,5% ect.... Does it make sense or is there something I'm not understanding?
As always, thanks for great video content!
I wanna know how did Slughorn came across the info of how to split your soul. It seems Dumbledore and Snape knows how to as well.
Loved this video, keep going with them!
Love this!
Great video, Dean! I enjoy your content very much!!
I always enjoy your video on harry potter.
Oh yes, and he gave them back (along with everything but the things he gave the trio) to the school including his body
Fantastic per usual!!
what if harry potter decides not to go to Hogwarts video please
You know, he could have used transfiguration or some such magic to retain his good looks. I would use it as a disguise to hide in plain sight.
It's OK Dean, you don't have to get into the cursed spawn... We all know it's not canon...
i am so addicted to this channel
Well done, as always! Thank you for this
I'm curious, where's Herpo now? I mean... Is he alive? Did someone managed to figure out how to destroy them?
I've always been thinking. Can't you split your already split soul into multiple pieces? That way, you still retain half of it inside of you, at all times.
I was wondering that as well. Maybe Voldemort did that with some of his horcruxes before he hid them
I would love to read a tome on the history of magic, ancient magic.
