- In this video we begin installing a bunch of new upgrades for the sleeper Volvo! Things like a bigger exhaust housing turbo, a flex fuel setup, a built TR6060 transmission from RPM transmission, and smaller things like a clutch release valve and bigger tires! These upgrades will hopefully get the sleeper Volvo DEEP into the 10's...

Without baffles in the valve covers, that catches can is going to be full of oil quick.
I mean that's kinda the goal. I think the baffles would restrict flow too much anyway.

All you need is something to keep oil from flinging directly into the fitting on the valve cover. A small baffle will not restrict flow enough to negate the upgraded hose diameter.
@@_Gingium_ I think he meant faster than you want. Like, potentially run the top-end dry type of fast. Or otherwise "catch' a quart every 1000 or less miles fast.
@@_Gingium_ I think a simple baffle would still be a good thing and not be much of restriction since blow-by wont create much flow in a -12 set-up, love the build

Tip
With a little heat and a hammer you can make exhaust pipes bigger or smaller.
With a ball hammer hit the inside edge of the tube to flare it out.
With the flat side hit the outside edge to flare it in.
Upto an inch in difference can be achieved.
Use many light taps working around and around to gradually achieve the shape
You can also use a exhaust expander tool to get a nice even opening or a flaring tool to get the lip to the desired diameter.

Glowing headers can also be caused by running not enough timing. More power/heat going into the exhaust instead of pushing the piston.

Without the baffles in the valve covers you will fill your catch can up very fast because it will throw oil in the port. The baffles prevent straight oil going into the lines just the air and what little oil is in the air

i had to do a catch can on my turbo 4.8 a while back and used two passenger side valve covers and welded the bung into the stock pcv hole so i could keep the baffling. watch out for it filling the tank and draining your pan rq my fren.

Twin scroll exhaust housings are only beneficial if you build a manifold that is divided as well

I am a fan of this car and you do a great job putting it together. But that old trans (ctsv) is not the problem. Gotta get that seat time brother and practice at the track for a fast m6 pass. I've been significantly faster on that exact trans engine and turbo combination in a heavier car. That new combination will absolutely help. And no disputing the tr6060/magnum internals are superior. But seat time!! Bring us viewers to the track with you and have fun bangshifting.

Just an fyi your exhaust isn’t divided so the divided housing isn’t going to increase spool. Also the turbine wheel is still the same size so you’ll still run into back pressure issues. You can only flow so much through a 75mm outlet no matter how big the housing is. It will give you wiggle room though. I also hope you aren’t trying to get 1000whp out of a 7875…
