I forgot how awesome the drift truck is. Looks like this is a nice upgrade. I loled at the ants just going around in circles on that bolt. If you let them be I wonder how long they would have went on until they realize what's going on.
Ant Racing Grandprix coming soon!
Fun fact about ants: If the pheromone trail crosses over just right, they can get stuck in what's called a death spiral (also called an Ant Mill), where they walk around and around until they run out of energy and their existence subscription expires, they aren't capable of realizing that there's a problem. A death spiral can happen if larger creatures wander through their scent trail and scuff it up causing the ants that are away from the colony to get lost and they follow each other, thinking the one they saw was one on the return journey, so they walk endlessly until they can't keep moving.
@@Avetho I didn't think I'd be reading ant facts in a Gingium video but here we are 🤣
I don't know how but Gingium makes the best sounding cars on the internet. whatever he did to the drift truck got me wishing I owned a 1UZ.
Id love to see a video of you just having fun in all your cars again, been a whileee since last rally miata or molly video
Yeaaaaaah. Its hard to find a place close by to bring all the cars to have fun at :(
@@_Gingium_ a POV drive on a back road would be sick imo
@@_Gingium_ I understand your trying to make the videos more professional but honestly the blog style stuff is more entertaining
@@_Gingium_ maybe that should have been thought about when you did your move?
@@_Gingium_ what about grind hard cos place like hit them up and have face of with there off road trike I think that would be cool
Yo that long distance recording was so sick!!!! Super cool to see the B2200 again!
Yessir! New zoom lens looking sick! Going to be awesome at the Drift Event next week.
I missed the drift truck so glad to see it back
Can't wait to redo it and really give it the justice it deserves!
Just a couple of guesses: rebuilding a master cylinder not a bad idea, but also make sure your pedal shaft is not overextended to press a cylinder all the time. Also old brake hoses are possible to create a one-way-valve effect when they collapse their inner diameter.
The brake hose was my thought. I've seen that before.
Yup. My first thought was a hose causing the issue
Didn’t he replace all the hoses?
It has happened on new hoses before too. Very rare but possible
Hmm interesting, guess we’ll find out in the next one 😂
Crazy production quality! Love your stuff man
@TheWanderingFrijole it’s not him
Still wild to think I found you back in the days of Forza builds. Been an honor and a pleasure to watch your journey Caleb
Dude, I LOVE the double plate to get the red behind the black! Soooo badass!
Man I’ve missed the drift truck. I genuinely enjoy all your builds but I love the truck.
From what I understand, you can upgrade those factory LSDs to be pretty sick with the right parts. And F150 S-spring, carbon clutch pack WITH a restack, and the right amount of preload should be all that it takes. As it wears out and 1-wheels, you re-shim it tighter and reset the preload. The other part of the equation is not going with factory preload specs, lol.
amazing how you lashed the rear diff by hand. very skillful.
The blow by is gonna spill out around turns. Add baffling, it’s the proper way to do it. Lots of easy ways like steels wool, Welding in baffles, ect.
I had a strange brake problem once on one of my Volvos. This might also be your issue.
It started to work as a one-way valve (looking up the brakes/or at least not realizing the pads as it should) and got fine again after some time or when everything cooled down. The cure was to replace the rubber brake line with a brand-new one. Problem solved...
The parts that I think were involved were using a brake line compressor to prevent brake fluid to escape from the brake line during the replacement of the calipers making some inner lining change or getting harmed. OR that the brake line rubber hose might not have got in at the exact angle (slightly twisted) after the caliper exchange. Anyway replacing it with a brand-new one solved the issue.
The amount of little things you guys are doing to the Volvo to try and make it as much of a sleeper as possible is insane, this is the true definition of a sleeper build.
17:45 that sound !!!! Well done, beautiful
love it when you revisit older projects and bring in your new knowledge it just goes to show how much youve grown
I really really can't wait to see you blowing the doors off a viper or a mustang, I hope the volvo gets its run ins in Mexico soon :) amazing build
This is one of the coolest and most impressive builds I’ve ever seen. Keep it up man!
Dude it would be sick to see you in another RX-7 someday!
That's how I found Gingium, since I had just gotten an FC when he had his.
Maybe one day! Would love to do proper justice to a FC again.
@@_Gingium_ Maybe even do the Previa justice too 🤣
@@FDB77 bro mentioning that thing is basically the equivalent of saying Voldermort out loud

I know I've said this in a previous video with the drift truck. But that thing's the best sounding car in your whole fleet.
The Volvo is finally coming together again. It’s great to see hard work pay off congrats gingium you’re the best
Why a Welded instead of a LSD? I run a 1.5way LSD in my 4AGZE KE70 Corolla for drifting, and it works like a charm.
Stoked to see drift truck content again! By far my favorite of your builds!
Break hose can heat up and collapse usually where the brackets are.
Crazy how I was just looking for this video
It's your lucky day!
Ging out here doing big things with the new shop. Love it
Goin back to grassroots drifting with the welded diff, love it man
Love to see some drift truck love. Such a cool little truck, my first car was a Mazda be2300! Had the tiny sideways backseats! Fun lil 5 speed. Miss that truck! You always make me want a mini truck but otherwise stoked to see it!
@Gingium im not sure but i recall that the orginal volvo brake line splitter you used under the car have a slider inside it, it wil light the brake light when it moves and probably block the side with the leak?
Maybe thats why the brakes lock up
This problem usually happenes because there is no room for the brake fluid to expand when it heats up, don't know exactly whats causing it, but i would check the master cylinder to make sure you didn't block off the vent ports by mistake.
should've watched the whole video, he already knows everything i just said
O4orr
The background music on the first half had me all relaxed haha
The new intro video sequence and title card was AMAZING!
Keep the builds going!
Edit*
On the ford 88 you can over clutch the lsd by putting in the full new set and keeping in one of the old clutches. Works great for off-roading and burnouts but obviously I’ve never drifted my lifted truck.
Open the brake fluid reservoir and have some one lightly push on the brakes and you should have 2 streams of fluid shoot up from the compensating ports, if not then your rod from the pedal to the cylinder is still too long causing the brakes to lock up when hot. Need to make sure the compensating ports are open when not applied
The Volvo looks like a sleeper but sure doesn’t sound like one. I love the drift truck. 🤘
i cant believe ive been watching this dude since 2015, just look at the awesome stuff hes doing now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the many things I enjoy about watching you work. Your workspace is always clean, organized, etc...
There are some other youtubers, that I still enjoy watching, but are total and complete slobs. How do they get anything done? Volvo is slick my friend.
Love your video’s man thanks for all the great content. Would love to see some merch again!
dude, i LOVE the new intro screen, and youve given me alot of inspration for some car builds i have in mind, keep up the grate work!!!
Thank you so much!
If you're building positive crankcase pressure at all, run a check valve to the booster, a lot of turbo cars run one
I absolutely love the drift truck, someday I plan on doing a project like that!
I like the footage of your truck in traffic. You don’t see a lot of footage like that.
I decided to become a subscriber.
For the high power stuff, the Ford 8.8” is a great option. For the drift truck however, I think you should be using Toyota mini truck parts, like a V6 8” rear end. They have a third member instead of the differential carrier, so no more shimming lash. Same for the front sway bar, Toyota truck parts should be appropriately sized for the B2000
Best production video of the channel. Amazing
A tip with fusion 360 and unit conversions (as I saw you did it on google):
Instead of manually converting it (which could sacrifice accuracy), even if your default units are inches, you can type the dimension in in mm as long as you follow it with "mm".
i.e. I work in metric and need a 4-inch part, I would type in 4in instead of 100... mm.

Lunch time here in Australia. I can enjoy my brake now with a bit of gingium.
Was hoping to see one of your rides at RADwood this weekend. Maybe next year!
amazing camera work for the fabrication!
I’ve seen where the brake line will collapse internally and hold pressure to the caliper. It’s normally on aftermarket braided steel lines that are cheaply made
Im excited to see some more truck videos, I did 4.10 gears and a spool in my 8.8 I needa work on my hydro also it’s sponge
Hey bro i love the build, im looking to ls2 swap my 1968 truck and i was wondering what valved exhaust you used cause yours sounds amazing
Next time you have a stuck diff stuff a rag between the ring gear and the pinion and spin the pinion/yoke. I have to do it to some stuck 10 bolts almost weekly.
The gold tape is perhaps the funniest part of the sleeper build. To remove it would a crime against humor.
Excited for more drift truck content!!
This truck is just soo good the look the sound, everything is perfect
Love that ants nascar action 😂. Hope you fix the Volvo issue, loving the build so far.
Love your vids bro love the production

Patiently waiting on gingium to k swap an odd ball vehicle 😅😄
Yesssss FDD Is gonna be so good this year you’re gonna enjoy it even tho the starter and trans? Are otw out
P.S., you have every major awesome tool in your shop. CMC plasma, 2x72 belt sander, tire machine, two racks and a nice welding table. Splurg $140 and buy a parts cleaner from Harbor Freight! LOL
The ports for the catch can hoses need to be wayy bigger. People often use the oil fill cap to vent, dont know your power goals but should be at least half inch.
That drift truck sound is great!
It’s the brake hose on the Volvo playing tricks with you!
Those are some lovely dimes you’re throwing down. You’ve come a hell of a long way from that crummy hood scoop on the rally Miata. Have a drink on me.
You could just have changed the clutchplates and springs too 😅😊
And yeah if you have any brake hoses thats old change them, and make sure you have some play in the brake linkage 😊
I don't know if you get told this enough but you're a major inspirations to me man I've watched every single one of your uploads for the past 4 to 5 years haven't missed a single one and in my opinion you are super underrated which doesnt make any sense to me cause everything you do is amazing not to mention you do almost everything by hand unlike a lot of other car content creators keep up the good work man i cant wait to see where you go man

A lot of times the pin will break on welded gear 8.8. But if you got the lsd you can fill the sides in it with steels and no clutches and weld the steels cause they are splined to the axle.
You had pure talent.... You have to watch "ICON" on YT. He rebuilds derelict cars and makes them into collector pieces.... just like you are here. His work like yours is outstanding. You will really appreciate what he is doing and how he has made a very good living making dream cars for his clients
bro this build is awesome and i love the new intro
Lol new cameramans funny with that reflection middle finger
Love those valve covers covers! But c'mon! In my opinion, there's way cooler (stencil) fonts for the Volvo! IMO
Great videos, the production quality got real good real fast.
P.D. That truck is so so good, what great sound
Hell yeah those valve covers look great
You can put a lunch box locker or a Detroit in that rear end so it doesn’t drive so bad when you have traction.
Just a thought on ur breaks I think the issue ur seeing is at the brake booster itself. u used a goe metro booster if I recall correctly, that runs on a very small engine deff not a big v8. Theres a spring that returns the diaphragm inside the booster. More vacuum small spring should equal brakes not wanting to let go
It's trying to tell you that it doesn't want to be a boring looking sleeper, it wants to be a low to the ground, grid life track car with a flashy livery
Best sounding vehicle you have by far😌
Ginguim. Since you are upping your fabrication game, I would love to see you start to use more Oeteker clamps. The old screw clamps are ugly and less efficient.
leaving the axels in while welding may cause temepering of the axels and get them prone to breaking, so tack with axels in then push them out when doing the full weld!
drift truck sounds so awesome
Will always be the best sounding car I own
Brother I watch these videos in bed, that flashbang killed my eyes
I love driving with a welded diff, it's so direct and predictable. Open diff should be the illegal one.
Lol I like that. I've only driven a spool once, otherwise all my cars have been open until I got my 300c this year. It's an LSD. (Not counting trucks). I had a CTS before with about the same power but an open diff. The general driving experience is so little most people would never know. But when you get spirited or a little squairrely on ice, that LSD really shines
Yeah I'm starting to agree with ya
love the intro man !!!
The drift truck!! One of my future builds 😎 LS though
Would love to see the drift truck get the same attention the eclipse did. The B2200 is a great drift vehicle so turn it into a robot grade build. (keep it red!)
Love the Volvo, but I have a special place in my heart for the 1UZ and 2UZ. And the drift truck is just BA as a truck, looking forward to more work on the drift truck! Also, please tell me that the welded rear diff is a temporary measure...
Thanks for watching and commenting. You have been randomly selected from the comments as the winner for the giveaway. Hit me up via the digits above to claim your prize...........🆓🎁
Seeing that b2200 going sideways it would put a horn on a jelly fish 👌🏻👌🏻
I know this will probably get lost in the comments but I will say it anyways just in case lol. Have you ever looked into an ARB Air Locker for your diff for the drift truck? I was thinking it may be a good option for maintaining street drivability, but on the track you get all the benefits of a welded diff all at the flip of a button. They're really stout too. I have one on my second gen cummins overlanded that probably pushes around 750 torque to the wheels and it can lock the rears and do smokey burnouts even with 37 inch tires. Just food for thought. keep up the great content, Cheers!
sometimes i feel like a welded diff
Hi
The brake problem you have is probably the brake servo that pulls the main cylinder , if the pedal is slightly of it active the valve and the vacuum pulls the brakes, next time it’s looking try to pull off the hose of the servo and the vacuum valve.
I have been in this situation myself.
Bro if only the LF is seizing you probably have an issue with the brake hose. Sometimes they internally collapse when hot and won't let fluid out of the caliper. I'd replace the LF brake hose.
Welcome to the welded diff mini truck gang!
Ready for some drift truck content
Fun stuff!
that laser cutter thing is awesome wish i had one
I had a similar issue with the brakes on my crx, it ended up being a check valve in the vacuum line leading to the booster. I replaced calipers and other things before I finally removed the vacuum line and it freed everything up and realized it could’ve fixed it for $15 lol

It's sounds awesome from that little send. I still think that it needs a supercharger though.
The Break problem at the Volvo. Maybe the flexi brake hoses!!!!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
The Volvo has got all the signs of a brake flexi hose breaking down internally.
Don't forget about the eclipse, I'm still hoping it's going to redeem itself on the dyno...
Those valve covers are awesome
