This Makuta voice is unironically so much better than most of the "evil" voices antagonists get these days. It's low pitched, but actually sounds distinguishable and unique, the effects aren't overdone so you can still hear everything clearly. And on top of all that it really evokes the vibe and cadence of Lee Tockar's Makuta.
@@albertskoften1452that was always Faber’s idea yeah, but the way the MNOLG writers connected it specifically to lego; by having Makuta represent the discordant pile of parts on the floor everything a kid builds will come from and go back to, was a stroke of genuine genius

I always wanted to see movie from each set. 1st movie from the toa's arrival to this fight with Makuta. 2nd from invasion of Bohrok swarm to born of Toa Nuva. 3rd about bohrok kal arrival and fight. And 4rd about the Mask of Light. And after that the next movies.
At first I thought it was going to be a comedy spin when Tahu said "We have come!" but this is actually what the title says it is. You did a nice job making it high quality.
That Makuta voice is awesome! It has the same feel as Lee Tockar but deeper and more gravely. Kopaka sounds just like he did in MoL, that kind of smooth, stoic tone like Batman, and Gali's voice kind of reminds me of Samus Aran or even Sage from Sonic Frontiers, feminine and soft but still fierce and assertive. Awesome job.
Goddamn Whilst the ignition trilogy was my fave arc by far I forgot just how AMAZING Makuta's speech was in this Fantastic job with the voices, bringing it to life even further
I think you nailed Tahu and Kopaka pretty well, and Gali was a surprise, your audio work makes your voice sound passably female as Gali. And I think Makuta's voice is the best. Nice, raspy, the way it echoes when he talks and fades with his final lines...all that's missing is that signature laugh from the movies.
I am still to this day glad that the Mata Nui Online version of what happened at the end of the first arc retconned the last fight. In the very first book all the Toa do is fight the manas crabs, evil copies of themselves then after those sub bosses Makuta doesn't even bother to show up. Needless to say not even getting to see Bionicles final boss is so anticlimatic compared to this banger.
I always got the impression, since, iirc, the books came out after this, that the book left the encounter out to leave room for this. Tale of the Toa ends with Onua remarking that “there is more to come,” which, I at least believe, leaves an open space for this to still have occurred since it was already out there. The main difference between that and here then would be the battle vs the Manas, whether it’s 2 that they struggle against at first…or many where they fight and struggle just to discover they need to destroy the control towers (making the Manas, imo, more machine than animal). So whichever one prefers then (though I think the book version of that is the “true”? The Shadow Toa part of that isn’t, according to their Story Bible).
The sound quality is fantastic and the voice acting is top notch! Personally, and I hope you don't mind my saying, I'd have Makuta's initial voice be of that of a child, since he's acting like an innocent, vulnerable Matoran, not unlike when he posed as Dume, he can manipulate voices etc THEN when he transforms, he reveals his true nature, just food for thought 😅
This is spectacular. I adored original Bionicle and the Mata Nui Online game kept me enthralled for so many playthroughs. I will admit, I miss the higher level of mysticism from the early days where Makuta was an evil (or perhaps misguided) spirit.
100% agree, that's why I love the 2001 storyline so much. A lot of mysticism, and a more simple, tribal athmosphere. Not everything has to be explained, or have a technological/technical background. I preferred the story before things got retconned and explained to suit into a bigger story. When Mata Nui was really just an island named after a sleeping spirit and not a giant robot's face. When Makuta was the Makuta, not one of many.

Holy shit this is incredible. I love little details like Gali having a filter because of her mask. Only complaint is that Makuta is a bit too gravelly imo, but tbh it's accurate to the movies
This is probably the best thing out of the best things... ever.
As much as it would've been cool to have an AI recreated the Mask of Light actors, I'm glad you're reserving AI for the shitposts and doing actual acting for the serious stuff.
Nice work on voice acting... they sound like the mask of light!
This goes hard.
Nice voice over of the final battle of Bionicle's first year.
Absolutely incredible!
Wait, wait, I expected a shitpost this is really good
that was epic! hope you'll do more voice overs on the original animation
It’s so beautiful
