Back in high school, working at McDonalds, there was a customer with a Slayer shirt. So naturally I say slayerrrrr! But he says: no man it’s more like this SSSLLLLAAAAAYYYEEERRRRRRR!!! While everyone is looking at us like we’re crazy or something
Hing Dong Jooger Jooger if that was to happen today the one in the shirt wouldn't even know what your talking about cus they probably don't listen to them
Hing Dong Jooger Jooger gotta love metal heads who see each other....it's always an instant colabaration....nothing like it....been into metal since 81....
It's only fair bro.. I mean Jeff is gone.. and lombardo is out.. the only reason metallica went on without cliff is because it was only him.. trust me if James or Lars also died that day with Cliff there would not be a metallica after that..you think there would be a megadeth without Dave mustaine? If anything I'm surprised Kerry and Tom pushed on without they're vital players..
I've seen a lot of bands live, but Slayer still takes it as best concert experience ever. The energy of their fans is unlike any other venue and their pyrotechnics are always wicked. God I wish I could see them again 🤘
Sure they went back to thrashy style. But it's awfully composed. Hardwired feels like the end of Metallica to me. It's like riffs after riffs without any sense of composing. There's no construction. No spirit. It really feels like they're absolutely not into metal music anymore and they just did this album because it's their job and nothing else. In comparison, listen to Overkill's last album.
Side B of My War Dave is such an enormous part of Slayer...to not have him in the band feels like I’m not hearing the real Slayer, especially since the albums without him are so weak
I’ve seen Slayer several times with both Dave and Paul. They both kick ass in their own styles. Paul’s albums aren’t weak at all, god hates us all is one of my favorites
I've adored Slayer for maybe 12 years or more, so let's just say that I'm mourning. It also hurt like hell when Hanneman died, who wrote maybe 50 % of all material (many of the best songs by himself, such as "Angel Of Death).
Sorry to break it to you, but Slayer died with Jeff. A band with Kerry and Tom only IS NOT SSSSSLLLLLAAAAAAYYYYAAAAAAAHH! (No disrespect to Holt, who is thrash's second best guitarist after Jeff!!) But Slayer's music stopped changing the world after South of Heaven (and that is really one album too far!!!) RANCID Angel of Death...FLYING FREE......!!!! Przemysław Sut St Anger isn’t just the worst Metallica album, it’s perhaps the worst album from a popular metal band...Diabolus In Musica is pretty bad but at least Slayer never went all soft and did a song like “nothing else matters”...not a terrible song but it is insulting to consider that metal from a band called Metallica...they literally have the word “metal” in their name
Jesus, the close-up of the side of his head at 2:10 - no ear plugs. No fuckin wonder whenever he does interviews he comments on how his hearing is shot. After countless thousands of shows he must be practically deaf.
should've added the slovakian guy who balled his eyes out when he met them and tom consoling him i waited 22 years before i finally got to see slayer live (there were no big metal bands coming to south africa)..... man i was so stoked when that day finally arrived
Back in the 80s when I was a teen I learned about them thanks to paper magazines and all that kind of shit old guys know. I used to listen to AC/DC, Iron Maiden or Metallica but Slayer had such a powerful aura in Europe at that time, "Reign in Blood" was like the forbidden fruit - really dark aura- and I still remember the very first time I listened to "Angel of Death". Nothing can describe it. And 2 years later I bought "Seasons..." I was shaking so hard! Dave, Jeff, Tom, Kerry thank you so much
Raphaël Dordeins exactly....I'd put it on in my room with the lights off....and it was pure fuckin evil coming out of the speakers...."SATAN.....SATAN.... SATAN"
I bought the cassette when it came out, you guys remember the album was only 28 minutes long so the album was on both sides of the cassette? So my ghetto blaster I had would automatically flip the cassette. I’d literally would listen to reign in blood for about 4 hours straight every day for 3 months l
Do you imagine having them as grandparents: "Why are you so insolent? "Cause I want to" "I'm the one who's in charge here, so do as I say" "Dude...you played in freakin' Slayer" "Shut and eat your fucking cookie already" "Mom, Grandpa said a bad word".
What not even Tom's most epic announcement of War Ensemble? The one in Tokyo. It was so intense Dave made a mistake in the intro because he was so shocked by it xD
Slayer was one of the biggest bands out of the big four. I miss seeing them and I will always give them the support no matter what. I want to thank Slayer for everything they gave us. MOTHERFUCKING SLAAAAAAYEEEEEEEER!!!!!
Lombardo is godly, just in the double bass at the end of Angel of death he looks at his wrist like telling `is that ok? Ok let´s go´, I cannot stop laughing. That says it all about him, he can do whatever and however he likes.
As an aspiring drummer, dave will always be one of my biggest idols. When im older and (hopefull) have opened my own music shop, im gonna get a picture of lomabrdo and put it on the wall as a constant tribute
Come on metalheads! I see everybody arguing, wait not arguing but shitting over the big 4 and who sucks and who is the best . Different opinions are good but do you remember some of the big 4 tours? Godly shit right there. Anyone was enjoying those shows fans from All 4 bands, together.
It's time to retire, their legacy stands and will stand for the future metal generations to come. All things comes to an end and slayer retires just in time.
Carlos G. Avilés Gutierrez I couldn't agree more.My wife couldn't understand why I wasn't upset about it.When repentless came out I said this is a solid album but it's time to call it quits I don't wanna hear slayer albums with zero songs written by Jeff it won't be slayer. There music will live on forever and they ended on a high note.
100 % agree with you. Slayer will always live thanks to its legacy. I hope Kerry will continue though, not with Slayer, but I hope he'll create his own band or something.
The Jeff passing was huge to slayer future, though age takes its toll too, they're tired and they wanna enjoy their time with family. Slayer's time just came and it's not a bad thing, except for those who never saw them live 'cause they're monsters playing live.
One of my favorite things about Slayer is hearing their name shouted, with exuberance, at shows they aren't even playing at. FUCCKING SLLLAAAYYYERRRRRRRRRR
Chris Howard That would be way too long of a show! I’d love to see them do Show No Mercy, Reign In Blood and South of Heaven from beginning to end, and throw in Chemical Warfare and the title track off Hell Awaits for good measure
As much as I'm sad that the band is retiring , seeing Tom taking about his grand daughter and how he wants to be there for her because he wasn't there seeing his sons grow Plus he expressed his hate to touring in an old interview. He changed my life and the life of many others So he and the rest of the band deserves a little rest now There legacy will last forever ..❤️

I got suspended for 10 days because I wrote a Slayer quote and they didn't even bother to figure anything out about it. They simply assumed that it was something evil and that I was going to kill someone just because the quote came from Slayer.

Hipster trends sucks as do all trends.....The only trend I like is The great southern Trendkillll......Thats right, the great southern trendkill...

incredible the way Dave met Kerry and decided to make music !And Tom not knowing a thing about metal at this time!
Slayer are the gods of Thrash Metal.
The Slaughterhouse
Since Metallica and Megadeth are more mainstream hard rock now, yeah I’m inclined to agree
Slayer are the gods of *METAL*
Malevolents Band I also definitely agree, but have you heard Metallica’s Hardwired album? They go back to being super thrashy, it’s awesome
The Slaughterhouse I love slayer but in my opinion destruction is
Really wish Dave Lombardo would rejoin at least for this final tour :(
Side B of My War
Dave is such an enormous part of Slayer...to not have him in the band feels like I’m not hearing the real Slayer, especially since the albums without him are so weak
Paul Bostaph is better and more technical but its fucking Dave Lombardo so...
Joice Davis Paul is good. But nowhere near as good as Dave. You can listen to their newest live shows, Paul hardly keeps up nowadays.
Brain Nerd Said no one ever you dumb piece of shit.
I’ve seen Slayer several times with both Dave and Paul. They both kick ass in their own styles. Paul’s albums aren’t weak at all, god hates us all is one of my favorites
I'm so sad that Slayer is soon to be no more. Long live one of the very best things Metal has ever offered.
MrMetallidude I just got into them too, that's what makes it sad

Slayer truly is one of a kind, the most unique band of the big four. Gods of metal
