Risky Border Crossing | Walking From Croatia to Serbia
Thanks for visiting Croatia and I hope you enjoy Serbia as well! Best regards from Croatia! 👍
Obožavam Gabriela putnika, pozdrav iz Toronta🇨🇦🇭🇷
I think - I am in love........
Gabriel, please note you should always walk on the left side of the road whre there is no sidewalk. That is a rule in Europe and it is also much safer for you. :)
Same in U.S. walk towards traffic
Yes. That is correct. It's safer for you and the drivers. And in addition if you're riding a bicycle you are not a pedestrian, then don't ride it across a crosswalk. I'm NOT talking about you Gabe!!!
Such a Exquisite country I never knew how Beautiful it was in Croatia 🇭🇷
Your a credit to your country Gabriel...showing the world to everyone.
Gabe has a good talent for making interesting the ordinary.
I think this is true. One of the reasons I enjoy watching Gabriel is that he shows it "how it is" with no frills. No spin. It makes everything more real, and is helpful and informative for other travelers. He's a great "guide to everywhere" .
@@thewanderingweave6286 This is why I do not understand the 11 "thumbs down" dislikes :(
@@mtnvr6545 it's jealousy ;)
nice video to watch
Growing up during the Cold War, Yugoslavia was a complete mystery. Now I've been to Croatia and Slovenia, I've discovered what a beautiful region it is.
"Staropramen - Czech beer there"
spot on, that's how you keep your Czech subscribers happy, haha
Staropramem nije Cesko pivo.😂
Gabriel good luck in new country!
Cheers from Croatia🙌!
Gabriel, you're really an inspiring world traveler.
Stay safe
Thank you for beautiful coverage of Croatia in this challenging times! Enjoy Serbia and stay safe 🍻🍻🍻
Thank you for sharing your wonderful journey and tour through Croatia. Rarely seen a nice and polite person like you. My wife and the kids and I just came back from a vacation in Croatia and your fine Videos brought back some beautiful memories, it felt like it's still a near by place like we go back there in a few days. Best wishes to you and god speed.
The guy in 16:10 said when you gave the kuna coins "Nece niko baci to" I had a big laugh "Nobody wants this, throw it away" hahahaha
Congratulations to your stamina, man, with walking the sun with all that staff on you, I would probably take a taxi
He's got amazing energy.
Stay safe Gabe ! Thanks for the upload. Great as always.
You walked to Serbia from a border town. YOU ARE SO AWSOME GABRIEL🌹Thank you for bringing all of us these most outstanding videos. Like your name, YOU ARE AN ANGEL🤗🌹You see I'm older much like yourself, and I speak how I feel without being embarrassed. Have a beautiful day Arc Angel.

Serbia is so interesting buildings are awesome 😎 what a beautiful church ⛪️ Thank You Gabriel
That Novi Sad church is the Catholic cathedral.
Catholic church. Very nice.
Vojvodina, by the way has nothing to do with Serbia.
Even the Catholic Church on the main square in Novi Sad proves that.
Orthodox Serbs came as refugees to Vojvodina, part of Austrian empire back then.
After I WW Serbs occupied the province, and after II WW more then 500 000 ethnic Germans, Donau Schwaben were expelled, many Hungarians, Croatians also. In their houses Serbs were settled.
@@savytraveler790 You really hate Serbia. Saying Vojvodina don't have anything with Serbia is utter bullshit.
@@savytraveler790 well obviously. It looks nothing like the rest of Serbia. Even in Belgrade there is this 'Otoman' 'turkish' heritage. Not to mention when you go south. I was all over Balkan...and Ex Yugoslavia 2 years ago.
Hey Gabe, this video it’s a true adventure. I really enjoyed until the end. I have been intrigued and fascinated with the Balkan Peninsula and all those countries that were part of the former Republic of Yugoslavia. God willing, I want to go there once things settle down. Novi Sad, Serbia seems a beautiful city same as all those beautiful cities that you visited in Croatia.
Your vlogs are awesome! Keep traveling safely and post more nice vlogs!
Classic Gabriel...genuine solo traveler...very well done...
You are so confident and self assured so so impressive
I like to think of Gabe’s attitude as the American zen who grew up in the 90’s often in the hippie jam band scene, like Gab’s favorite, “String Cheese Incident” Trust me, they were the best of times. Google Neal Cassidy. He had the “American zen” too
Hi
@@1bigbillz Neal Cassady would have hated the 1990s "hippie jam band scene."
Petar Ticinovic in one of his videos he had a string cheese incident cd and he said he was a fan and went to some shows, so he was a fan
Petar Ticinovic in the video where he goes thru his Oregon storage unit. Why did you think he wouldn’t be?
You are very lucky to travel. I can see the world through your vlogs. So plz keep traveling. You walk so much.
Whoa.. never seen such a beautiful colour of the sky, it's really amazing.
Glad you finally came to my city, hope you enjoy it.
Great video and informative thanks..
Gabriel has ended this video in front of the Catholic cathedral in Novi Sad.
Please say how many days have you shit from the happiness of writing this? And are you sure it's smart to remind that anywhere in the world there is a building of a criminal organization called "Catholic Church"? We don’t tear it down just because we are disgusted to approach it.
@@D-TroS Catholic Church is still a bigger humanitarian organisation than all humanitarian organisations in the world together.
BTW you forgot to express your disgust for every educational and health building from schools, universities, free-speech forums, hospitals etc in every corner of the earth - opened for everyone, no matter denomination, race, class or belief.
The people in the church were praying the rosary (repeating Ave Maria and some other prayers for about 20-30 min). It is very common in Croatia, especially before mass.
Are they praying in Croatian or Latin?

Wishing you good health.
Cool! Summer was definitely the best season to see all the greenery
Keep at it Gabe. We love it.
I also appreciated that small-town feeling from the past, almost home, on more than one occasion in Serbia, and it was worth more than higher GDP figures elsewhere.
Enjoyed your travel a lot ! Thanks for sharing your experience !
You have a big soul gabriel keep uploading my boss
Intro music is awesome on this one!
Unbelievable, GABRIEL
walking through borders...miles and miles... in crazy heat,
all this in order to explore, visit and show us all this unknown countries, which once made up Yougoslavia...
I ve never seen this done by any other vlogger...
Best greetings and warm wishes from the French Alps, Chamonix ..👋👋👋
You're in the French Alps? Niiiiiice, lucky you. The Alps are one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Yessss, I agree...(as far as I ve seen from the world )...gorgeous indeed ! 🤩🤩🤩
Alot of french tourists now...unlike the years before..but
Le Mont Blanc will wait for you ..until you can travel and explore..😊
Thanks for the excellent vlog. Take care.
Always interesting, thank you for filming, editing, sharing :)
welcome back!
With no people or cars on the streets in some spots, it feels like Gabriel is the last man on earth 🌎 just like in the movies...
Awesome vlog. Thanks, Gabe.
Re: praying in the Church.
They were praying the Rosary which is hugely important to Catholics.
It's a prayer to Virgin Mary, aka Our Blessed Mother.
Most definitely, the most holy
Dobar dan! What lovely shots and beautiful walk. The bridge looks kind of quiet.
Gabriel has the approach of "Come along with me" rather than "Hey, look at me travelling the world." This was so interesting, the doubts he had in crossing borders, and I enjoy how he chooses to walk, rather than go by bus or car. He is seeing the world on his own terms.
Love your vlogs👍🏻
Definitely a cool way to cross the border! I am glad it all went smoothly!
Beautiful video. Liked it very much.
Welcome to Vojvodina, Gabriel!
Greetings from Croatia. Enjoy Vojvodina!
Pleasant trip! 👍
Welcome to our city Gabriel😀! Enjoy and have a good time!
Gabriel, I'm loving this trip you are on - such beautiful countryside and villages. Thank you for bringing these images to us, while we cannot travel.
Very intersting , good job Gabriel !
The old guy said: "Throw those away no one wants those here." in regards to the Kuna.
You would think so,but only thing they like from Croatia are Kunas, trust me 😏😆
Serbia is a nice place, first Turks came to visit then Austrians, Germans, and finally NATO....
nicevu2303 Ha, excactly, and that’s actually why they were “struggling to keep Ex Yu”. Money from Croatia, Slovenia was flowing to central federal bank in Belgrade. That’s the past now, today Croatia is not the best, but it is separate and independent. However they still didn’t give up on Monte Negro, although it’s a independent state now. They would like to “take care”of their money that comes from tourism.
Saying this, I really have no bad thoughts about Serbia or people there.
Nato did a great job, throwing those bombs like candies, marvelous!
Old man was joking.
I listened to the U2 song "Walk On" on the radio driving home from the train station so in my head when u were walking across the border that was my own private soundtrack to your video. A+ for showing us how it's done at a potentially dicey international border crossing - way to "Walk on the Wild Side."
Welcome back :)))
The road to 500k in 2021 is clear Gabriel. Keep Going >>>
Great meal 🥘 looks delicious 😋 well deserved ...Enjoy your travels Gabriel I am praying for your safety during your travels ...Blessings
A great video brother. You need more viewers. All the best.
Amazing video. So interesting. Great to see both countries. Really want to visit myself some day. So good the way you showed both towns and walking over the border. Absolutely fantastic video. Keep it up.
Welcome to Novi Sad, I think it's a good idea to rent a car and explore around but don't skip on exploring the city.

Gabriel you really are incarnation of adventurous :)
Food looks yummy, the church was gorgeous, stay safe ❤️👍🇺🇸✌️
I was rather excited when the title of this new video came up in my notifications. It almost sounded like you were invading Serbia! Another great video Gabriel and keep them coming - so cheering to see you traveling for many. I've bought "your" DJI camera and I have been playing with it for days. No one is allowed to speak to me unless I am filming them at the moment.
Nice, enjoy the camera.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I also got the DJI osmo action few days ago, filmed some nice shots around my city here in China, but I found it gets pretty hot after just 10 minutes of filming.. Like really hot, it can actually burn me if I touch it, especially the lens and protecting glass lol.. Do you have that issue with yours? And also, are you filming in d-cinelike mode and do the color grading in post? Cheers
Glad all is well with you😊👍look like a very interesting city looking forward to seeing more 🎥👍
I'm glad you came back. Best wishes... 👍🇷🇸
Can't wait for more videos from Novi Sad!!! NOTI'S ON!
"Ilok, Croatia, kuna" in the middle of Serbia. Savage move :D
Haha...what can I say. Not much else I could say.
the people here are chilled about that
@@GabrielTravelerVideos "Hrvatska, Hrvatska" was a cheery on top.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos the old man replies: "They don't have nor a state nor a currency". Regular old people ranting.
I Admire what you Dooo Maaaann Cheers Im Karim 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Ive been watching your Videos since Moldova Or even a little before !!!
Hey Gabriel. I have been renting my german friend's farm house 27km from Backa Palanka. In Backo Novo Selo. A small village on the danube. Used to be a german village called Neudorf. We could have shown you fishermans life here. My friend hss 22 animals. I was surprised you crossed border without a negative covid test within 48 hours. As of August 15 it was required for any traveler coming from Croatia. You got lucky! I think most car travelers do not use that border so maybe border police not up to date. I remember cycling over thst bridge in October 2018. You passed on the bridge the blue cycling map along danube for Serbia. The Eurovelo 6 cycling route starts in France and ends at Black Sea in Romania. Serbia was the best for me. Most well signed and cyclist friendly. Even most signs with kilometers to next town has a nice saying on it. When you see them read them. I know you want to rent a car but I highly recommend you get a bicycle with a rear rack and basket and follow the cycling route to Negotin or stop where you want. Cycling the gorge was stunning. The only part not so fun was cycling through part of Belgrade through along river was nice. When we met in Greece you had a bike so just thought to let you know. I also have my bike and touring gear with me now. Have fun. Funny how close we were in California and now Serbia!
I was holding my breath for you mate waiting to see if you made it over the border, glad all went well I didn't know Serbia was like this at all, looks beautiful
Yes. They build the best amphiteaters and roman palaces. They also did a nice job in Dubrovnik. Hahaha. You are very ignorant.
STAY SAFE GABE.......YOUR POSITIVE ATTITUDE IS REFRESHING IN THESE TRYING TIMES....RIGHT ON KEEP ON TRUCKIN
I watched your video when you introduced Cali Lost Coast and loved it so much! Cant believe you are in my Vojvodina
Great vid Gabriel im looking forward to your stay there. Im jealous of all the sunshine :)
Willits, Ca. Worked with a guy in the Fire Service, Gary Woodruff, from there. If you happen to walk by a Fire Station over there, would be interested to see what kind of Fire Engines they use. Usually firemen over the world are very welcoming. Stay over there, California is still a fustercluck.
Great Vlog, the comments are always so great
I like all your videos , detail thanks a lot good information hope you enjoy Serbia
A reaction from The Netherlands: Gabriel a very nice film. A lot of work !! Chapeau!!
We falow you and your stores from Vancouver time video. We live in Vancouver and now I am so happy to see you in my born town. I can weit to see other episodes and Novi Sad from your perspectives. Enjoy your days in this beautiful city, I am sure you can find many interesting things to do. All the best from Canada 🇨🇦. Cheers
Great video Gabe! I came in through the Bulgaria border a fww years ago and let me tell you.... it was the biggest headache! Serbia is amazing! Looking forward to seeing what you get into! Visit Novi Sad if you have the chance bro!
very nice Gabriel
We're sitting home, you're going places 👏
As an eastern orthodox Christian I really want to visit Serbia someday.
