this is an awesome video! i like that you make it with a worn car so you can show what a real job would be like. its not all clean and you show the difficulties that can come from a normal use of a car
I like this video. Thank you for getting to the point and not being a goober who talks for 20 minutes about everything else in the world before actually getting to the fix.
Oh my God, I love you! My car is having exact same problem 2008 Chevy Impala LT! I was too scared to drive it, didn't know what was wrong but now I do thanks to you! I remember I got my brakes fixed 3 weeks ago and the dealership did tell me that my wheel bearing may be going bad. Thank you so much for sharing, I'm not going to start following you from now on!
They might tampered with the sensor while fixing d brakes. I changed my struts and mistakenly tampered with d driver side sensor , then the light came up and I had no choice than to get a new hub assembly .
I had this exact problem on my 2007 Chevy Equinox. My ABS module was fried, so it took my mechanic about 7 weeks to diagnose and fix my problem. He replaced the ABS module, then replaced the left front wheel bearing hub assembly. Then, the ABS light came back on, so he replaced the right rear wheel bearing hub assembly. He cleaned my right front and left rear wheel bearing hubs with brake cleaner. Hopefully, they won't have to be replaced. So far, I've spent almost $600 on repairs.
@@Toni-ce It worked for a short while. ABS and traction control lights still come back on intermittently. I just drive with them on. I'm not spending more on brake repairs. The brakes work fine.
Thank you soo much for the video. Just solved my problem saving me lots of money. I at least now knew what i was looking for so i luckily had an abs scan tool and told me which wheel was defective
Man this light is so annoying i got this on my 2008 Yukon Xl 1500 glad i came across this thx bro I'm fixing this problem tomorrow i subscribed too 👌🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Sir you make it look easy, can't wait to track down my ABS, stabilitrack error on the 07 Tahoe, doesn't misfire, doesn't shift hard, but I'm thinking brakes were just slapped in quick and they probably hurt a ABS or speed sensor. Tomorrow the ODB2 will tell me.

Just fixed both my amber lights . abs and traction control on my dash. in my code diagnosis it showed front left wheel speed sensor on my 2004 esv escallade. I had replaced both front hubs with new sensors included. That is when my dash light showed abs and traction control. So I knew old sensors were ok. I had no problems with old hubs either just waned to update my front end. No need to take off calipers from disc just have a bucket to set disc and entire brake assembly still mounted to disc. No need to take out hub or big wheel nut . just unscrew Allen wrench nut off of wheel speed sensor . when unplugging sensor be sure new one gets plugged all the way back in before tightening the Allen screw .I used dielectric grease and used my old sensor, as new sensor was throwing the code. This is for front end. 2004 esv 6.0 escallade. Wheel speed sensor.

GREAT VIDEO. GREAT COMMENTARY! WILL RECOMEND TO EVERYONE WHO WORKS ON THEIR OWN CARS. i replaced the left front wheel hub and stabilitrak is still on. is there something i have to reset?
Thanks for a very helpful video. How did you determine it was the wheel sensor rather than a corroded connector where the sensor wire plugs into the rear wiring harness?
Makes sense to me. Thanks for the reply. Your lighting and camera work were excellent, as was your running commentary explaining what you were doing. Thanks again for the video.

Correct. Those as well as the GMC Acadia, Chevy Traverse, Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave all have separate sensors from the hubs. They have a lot of rear sensor failures.

I had my brakes changed a while ago on a 2011 Cadillac CTS. I have loss of traction and jumping RPMs when I try to go up hills or accelerate. The ODM reading doesn’t show me there is a code throwing. I use the FIXD app, it’s saying everything is fine but I noticed that the traction is not fine, and feels unsafe to drive. Why wouldn’t the ODM show me a code?
Negative. The wheel bearing/speed sensor has everything to do with your anti locking brakes, traction and stability control. It does not affect your passive restraint (air bag) system.
For a very good reason. Leaving the nut on will hold the hub assembly together while removing it. If you remove the nut, attach the slide hammer to the hub flange and hammer away, you will yank the hub flange out separating the bearing. That will make the rest of the hub assembly VERY difficult to remove from the knuckle!
I'm having this same issue I have a 2014 impala. Was told it was the hub bearing assembly, paid 350 to get the work done. Wasn't even out of the parking lot the traction light was coming back on. What do you think it could be now? Please help
+Tasha N1 not typically because it generally disables the ABS once one of the sensers drops out. That being said, if the signal is only dropping out when you’re braking to a stop, it will engage the ABS which in turn will cause some pedal movement.
It can make it pull to one side. When the bearing is bad the tire will slightly lean in on the top which causes the rotor to ride the inside brake pad and because of the heat generated by that brake will grab more than the others causing it to pull to that side. It’s a common thing. You’ll see this in your brake pads. Inside is wore more than outside and will also have a slight taper to it. Ask me how I know. Tasha N1, the sensor reads all the time, not only during braking. It’s used for stabilitrac and traction control. When your sensor is bad it disables the ABS, stabilitrac and traction control setting the lights.

Nothing i did got the the warning lights to go off. I don't have a fancy computer to plug into it just a $40 O'Reilly special. So no codes for the abs sensor or anything like that came up. Was this problem also causing g the truck to not shift out of park? I have a 09 yukon denali and the service traction control light is on as well as the abs light and it wasn't wanting to shift out of park. I replaced the brake light switch and the lights are still in? Any suggestions
Something else is causing your issue with shifting out of park. The brake light switch won't cause the ABS and Traction Control lights to illuminate. You probably have an issue with one of your wheel speed sensors. Most likely one of the front ones as they're the most common to fail.
Anytime you correct an issue with ABS, the light will shut off after the vehicle is driven for a little while. You can clear it with a scan tool or just take it for a drive.
My car caliper went bad and I drove the car like that now they change all new calipers and rotor and pads but if I hit my brakes pretty hard the abs and traction control light comes on. Any idea what could cause that????

Something else is causing your issue with shifting out of park. The brake light switch won't cause the ABS and Traction Control lights to illuminate. You probably have an issue with one of your wheel speed sensors. Most likely one of the front ones as they're the most common to fail.
Does it have to be set up after ?
Anytime you correct an issue with ABS, the light will shut off after the vehicle is driven for a little while. You can clear it with a scan tool or just take it for a drive.
My car caliper went bad and I drove the car like that now they change all new calipers and rotor and pads but if I hit my brakes pretty hard the abs and traction control light comes on. Any idea what could cause that????
I know it's a lot late but that sounds like a pinched speed sensor wire
I have a 2014 ford fusion. I parked it today came back hour later and started car. Has abs light service traction control airbag light hill assist error lights all on. Had both auto one and advance check for codes. Both found none. Advanced confirmed their odb tool checks abs but nothing. Any ideas
Be nice if you said the year make model etc for what you're working on...
great video.
Thanks for watching!
I noticed in the beginning your temp gauge is showing a weird reading. My '07 Equinox does the same thing. What is the cause of that?
The stepper motor for the gauge is bad. Common GM failure.
