      ​@@gorgitBest I could find is that some think Newton stole some of Robert Hooke's ideas, leading to the law of universal gravitation. Also, Leibnitz claimed Newton stole ideas from his calculus.
      Thw consensus seems to be that Newton didn't need the ideas from Hooke anyway, and that Newton and Leibnitz developed calculus independently, each with their own methods/forms. So I'd say his reputation remains intact.
      Might be wrong, but I was curious and those are my results from a cursory search.

      my husband asked annoying questions all the time (well he wasn’t my husband back then as we were only kids) … needless to say he spent 90% of middle school in the principals office 😂
      (PS for our British friends -> middle school is grades 6 to 8 in the USA. They’re 3 crazy school years between elementary school and high school 😊
