- Compilation of George Steinbrenners character in the television series Seinfeld.
"George's boss. Depicted as rambling, hard-nosed owner of the New York Yankees whose face is never seen. Voice done by Larry David. The character appeared in 16 episodes of Seinfeld." - Комедії
George went from being unemployed and living with his parents to working for the most famous baseball team on Earth and eating lunch with the owner. The kid's a human dynamo.
Lol.
Don't forget being a hen supervisor in a top flight bird operation.
Started from the bottom now he’s here I guess! Lol
And almost a bra salesman
You sure you're talking about George?
The scene where he's telling George's parents about his supposed death, and all Frank cares about is berating him for the way he runs the team, is comedic genius
That wasn't even the worst trade the Yankees made in the '80s.
At the trial too ... "How can you spend 12 million on Hideki Irabu?!l
dudley magnet you could redo this scene today only instead of Steinbrenner you could feature James Dolan with the Knicks. He’s a moron.
Frank is/was legend
My people wanted Ken Phelps bad
"Nothing more satisfying than looking down after lunch and seeing just the table"
- George Steinbrenner
he is right though
He's got eggplant on his mind.😂
"The man was obsessed with lactating women. They completely cured him. Although he still eats a lot of cheese"
Epic.
LMAO
That's Gold Jerry! GOLD!
Threatening to move the team to New Jersey just to upset people.
Kills me very time.
MutteringCondolences ii
@idoj654123 That reminds me of the episode of curb when the weatherman predicted rain just so that he could have the golf course to himself the next day.
I mean, the Jets and Giants are already there.
So funny
I chuckled
I love the way how George walks away when Steinbrenner goes off on a tangent
The slight hand wave haha
...Billy Martin
And the way Steinbrenner just doesn't seem to notice! 😂😂
@@ianfinrir8724 Buck Showalter. Wait, don't tell anyone that!
@@benriffle104 👌
When you realize that Larry David provided the voice for Steinbrenner the whole thing becomes 100x funnier lol
It actually stays just as funny
Yo it was Larry David?????
Never knew this
Haha I just found out now, December 2018
It ruined it for me
He's got the calzones! COSTANZA IS IN THE BULDING!! COSTANZA!!!!
The way he throws himself out the door is a great manic touch 😂
Best side character in the entire series. Larry David was the genius and main brain behind the show. I am blown away. Bloowwwowowowown
J peterman is superiour
Why don't we ever see Steinbrenner?
It wasn't "Larry David", it was Steinbrenner.
Good to see my favorite metal channel have good tastes elsewhere too.
@@jordanabeaulieu2530 because he's ugly
"It's just empty calories and male curiosity, eh Georgie?". What a line hahaha.
Fun fact: the actual George Steinbrenner was a huge Seinfeld fan, and loved this portrayal of him in the show. In fact, he loved it so much that he got in touch with the producers and actually filmed a scene where he plays this version of Steinbrenner. The scene never aired and ended up being cut and relegated to a deleted scene, because... he just wasn't very funny (a quote from Seinfeld himself).
Apparently Steinbrenner took that in stride, though, and there wasn't any bad feelings.
I read it was because he thought the show had done Susan character dirty by killing her off and refused to play a part in it.
"Come in, come in. George, the word around the office is that you're a communist."
and sends him to Cuba to negotiate with Fidel Castro for Cuban baseball players to come play for the Yankees.
@@TheFanboy19 And Castro is Steinbrenner with a Cuban accent
The whole bit about George working for the Yankees and Steinbrenner’s character were brilliant. This show is a timeless work of art.
My favorite period of time in this series. His jobs after the Yankees just didn't hold up in terms of comedic writing to me
"Hire this man"
The genius Larry David.
He is an actual genius
@@defnotsolrac3406 🙏
He is larry david?
@@derekalvaradoquesada4972 george steinbrenner is voiced by larry david
"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU TRADE JAY BUHNER FOR!!?? HE HAD 30 HOME RUNS, OVER 100 RBI'S LAST YEAR! HE'S GOT A ROCKET FOR AN ARM! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE DOING!!!" LOLOLOLOL!
But Ken Phelps!

I love the way the voice obviously doesn't sync up with the actor playing Steinbrenner. Somehow that makes it even funnier.
The scene w Jerry Stiller & Larry David is iconic. Two of the funniest people in television history.
Larry David's Steinbrenner is unforgettable. Still fresh after 20 years
Hire this man!
big stein can't be flopin and twichin....
awful but classic
"Owner's box. Thats gotta bring in forty bucks. No problem."
No lie, Steinbrenner’s office is gorgeous looking. All that wood, even the door is the same color as the walls!
Clearly he respects wood!
Why would George steal from the yankees?
Steinbrenner- " From 1973 to 1982, I ate the exact same lunch every day."
By far the funniest character in the series.. everytime I hear someone say "calzone" I think of Steinbrenner from Seinfeld! (hahahahahha)
Murat Harman Everytime I hear someone say "calzone", I think of the pizza guy saying "hey, what the hell do I know about cooking a shirt, huh?"
I had my first "Seinfeld" Calzone in a pizza Cafe in Thailand of all places
(yes it was wood fired good)
"I have an idea for Steinbrenner's character. I'll write these crazy absurd lines and we'll dub my voice in while only showing the back of an actors head" Larry David is a comic genius.
The first scene that he was in he had a different voice
Babe Ruth was nothing but a fat man with little legs
LD fucking KILLS this voice over role for Steinbrenner! 😂 Just imagining the facial expressions he was probably making off screen makes it even better....
"You can put that fancy mustard on a shoe and it would taste pretty good to me" gets me every time hahaha
3:46 - “We must find George” LD’s delivery kills me every time 🤣🤣🤣
I love it when George just walks away while Steinbrenner keeps on ranting.
Empty calories and male curiositaay, ey Georgaaay xD
8:54 "Ahhh. Just empty calories and male curiosity, aye, Georgie?"
Just wanted to point out that "He could be bleeding to death in the bullpen" may be the greatest quote of all time.
GET BETTER GEORGE, GET BETTER
CHAOS DOESNT WORK FOR THE NEW YORK YANKEES!! NOT AS LONG AS IM RUNNING THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!! LOL
George taking a nap under his desk at work is hilarious!!
Heartbreaker! Love taker... Shoemaker, won't you shine my shoes for FREE
“Hmm...just empty calories and male curiosity, eh George-y.” LOL
Thats just empty calories and male curiousity ehhh Georgie?
I almost died the first time I saw that scene!
2:20 Incomplete bit, but what's funny is that the Yankees actually fired Buck Showalter IRL soon after this episode! LMFAO! :D
MoronSoldier
" I smell a pennant ".
" The kid was a human dynamo ".
“So! I thought tomorrow we’d try a little corn beef! 😄”
“Corn beef... Eeeehhhhhhhhhhhhh iiiii don’t think so, it’s a little fatty don’t ya think?”
“How about Chinese?”
“Chinese? NOPE! Too many container, big mess, big mess very sloppy” 😂😂
Larry needs to bring Steinbrenner back to life in a new series... you never get to see his face, just him walking around on the street, driving his car etc... just Steinbrenner being himself informing others of his opinions on things and just generally causing trouble! (hilarious)
that would make an epic TV series.
Hard to do. Steinbrenner has been dead for 9 years.
@@ChannelyChannel why do you say that?
My brother-in-law was in there for a couple weeks. He was obsessed with lactating women. The cured him although he still eats a lot of cheese. XD
Steinbrenner is like a GTA-V character: he moves a lot, but his speech is hardly syncing😜😝😂 Larry did a fantastic job.
Larry David + Jerry Stiller= magic. Man i'm still laughing my ass off... You don't know what the hell you are doing!!
"Are you sure you're talking about George?"
I love how clearly you can tell Steinbrenner or the dude playing him is not actually talking and it’s a voice over
It's Larry David's voice, dumbass.
Steinbrenner is literally me when someone starts me off on talking about something I have a big interest in.
I love how when George first meets Steinbrenner, he's bold as hell, but then when he starts working for him, he practically crawls in through the door with fear whenever he gets called into the office. I also love how Frank flips out about the baseball team (like a George did when first got hired) after being told his son is dead instead of about his son's death
You can put that fancy mustard on a shoe and it would taste pretty good to me.
“I’m very concerned about George Costanza.”
“How about a ‘good morning’?”
“…good morning, sir.”
Everything he says is funny no matter how insignificant
L. D. gets a lot of credit for his genius but his voice was also funny as hell
Everybody out! I have eggplant on my mind!
😂
"Costanza, go get me a couple of Calzone's Pronto!"
Is that Mothra?!!!?!
“Big Stein wants an eggplant calzone “!!! 😂😂😂😂
i am blown. Blown away! blown george. bloowooowooowooowoon!
I remember i was gasping for air the first time i heard that.
The chicken trade for George 🤣

Can't help but feel a little bad for Billy Martin
Stump Merrill not Scott Marrow
Lol the way George just mosey’s out of Steinbrenner’s office.
My current boss is just like him. At a certain point you just have to start walking away 😂😂😂
The bits with Steinbrenner are my favorite scenes from this show.
Your job will be waiting for you when'll be back
Get Better George Get Better!!!!!!!!
Larry David did a great job playing Steinbrenner. He was always funny every time.
Billy Martin. . .😂
Remarkable characterization by Larry David, extraordinary!!
larry is a genius...
I AM VERY NERVAAAAAAAAAAAS
Always funny when George steinbrenner would talk and go on and on. George Costanza would nod and slowly exit the room classic and funny.
Just when I thought I love Seinfeld morning in the world I love Larry David more than anybody in the world I'm hooked on his curb your enthusiasm I love every episode!!
That “February” joke 😂
What the hell did trade jay buiner for? He had 30 home runs last year, over 100 rbi last year,he’s got a rocket for an arm,YOU DONT WHAT THE HELL YOUR DOING
You knew something wild was but Jerry Stiller still managed to hit a home run out of nowhere with that line. That scene is pure gold.
11:20 Well wait a minute, Steinbrenner was actually *happy* when he thought George was a communist, because that meant the Yankees could have access to Cuban baseball talent - he even sent George down there to speak to Castro (who turned out to be a Cuban version of Steinbrenner), so why is he saying he had a problem with George being a communist?
He hates Communism but hates losing baseball games more
@@TheLocalLt Big Stein takes big risks FOR THE GOOD OF THE GAME!!!!!
lmfao steinbrenner sends george to a nut house
I prefer funny farm
"It's a sick mind at work here" 🤣
Just chilling prefunk and Larry David as Steinbrenner ad libbing "Heartbreaker" popped into my head 💖
When I watched this show as a kid, I always wondered how this absent minded guy ended up owning the New York Yankees
Well imagine such a guy being POTUS.

First thing I heard when I heard Bernie Sanders speak.
He's MR STEINBRENNER !
I was waiting for Bernie to demand that he be brought some delicious calzones for lunch tomorrow..
GET BETTER GEORGE! GET BETTERRRRR!
I've got a whole new perspective about this character after watching "Curb Your Enthusiasm", how I love Larry David! It reminds me of his freak out moments, especially when he thinks everyone eating Oscar at a beach wedding ("You're eating a dooooog!!!!!")
“How about a good morning?” lololol
One of my favorites
One of the great aspects of Seinfeld was its brilliant characters...
THE greatest aspect. Period.
7:51, "Sir, I just got a call from the terrorists" . Dying laughing!
"Big Stein can't be flopping and twitching." - Big Stein
Every work place has a George Costanza.
I never understood this guy, it was completely maniac and he was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
I love how George just moves his arms when he's walking away. He knows he can't say anything else to Mr. Steinbrenner.
Larry David is the best comedy writer ever, period!!
I love that Frank uses the Steinbrenner telling them about the son situation, to tell what Frank thinks about Stein's management.
The Pita Pocket stops it dripping! Da Pita Pocket!
This is an ideal boss character for sitcoms. Real man of business but also hilarious.
That would be me.😂
"I've got 2 words to say to you George: hot tub."
"pilfering the equipment" lol
Such a delightful character 😂👌
"What the hell did you trade Jay Bhuener for???"
