They should have dumped Jerry. He was the only one that wasn't funny. Rather than go off the air, they should have had Jerry go out to Calif (indefinitely) and changed the name of the show to Jerry's Apt. Then they could keep all the characters going for a good long time. Who needs Jerry? He was dead wood.

Jackie Chiles WAS based on Johnnie Cochran. Phil Morris was perfect to play him. From the time Phil was 8 years old, he had his hair cut, in the same barber shop, as Johhnie. Phil was a "witness", on a regular basis, to everything that encapsulated the Johnnie Cochran persona; his mannerisms, his vocabulary, his voice inflections, etc.. Phil was, unknowingly, being prepared for the memorable, hilarious role on the future #1 TV show!! Phil said that he had a blast playing/"mocking" Johhnie. It shows! 😂 AMAZING!! (The writers, Larry, and Jerry, etc were fascinated with the OJ Simpson trial, particularly Johnnie Cochran, and when "Kramer" needed legal representation, they wanted a "Johnnie Cochran". Phil Morris obliged! 👍
